We have heard your urgent request and we are joining you in prayer for your son and his beloved thirteen year old dachshund who had emergency spine surgery yesterday. Our hearts are moved by the love your son has for his companion and by the concern you feel as the medical staff has shared that the situation is still very serious. We know how deeply God has woven the bond between people and the animals entrusted to their care.

Scripture shows us that the Lord cares for all His creation. Proverbs 12:10 says A righteous man respects the life of his animal, but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel. Psalm 36:6 reminds us Yahweh, you preserve man and animal. And Jesus taught us how attentive the Father is even to the smallest creatures when He said in Matthew 10:29 Are not two sparrows sold for an assarion? Not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father. If He notices the sparrow, we can be confident He sees this precious dachshund, the hands of the veterinary staff, and your son who is watching and waiting with a heavy heart.

We also lift up your son as you asked that the Lord would meet him right where he is at. That is a beautiful prayer. Psalm 34:18 tells us Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. And 1 Peter 5:7 encourages us to cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you. Whether this beloved companion recovers or whether the Lord in His wisdom calls him home, we pray your son will experience the nearness, comfort, and peace of God in a very real way during this distressing time. Romans 8:28 assures us We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.

We noticed your request speaks of the Lord and we want to gently encourage you about the precious name through which we come to Him. Jesus said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 declares There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is only through faith in Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father in prayer and the assurance of eternal life. If you and your son have not already done so, we encourage you to put your trust fully in Jesus, believing that He died for our sins and rose again, and to call upon His name.

Father in heaven, we come before Your throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We lift up this dear dachshund to You, asking for Your merciful hand upon him. You know every detail of his body and the surgery he endured. We ask for a miracle according to Your will, for healing of his spine, for relief from pain, for strength to recover, and for wisdom and skill for the medical staff caring for him. We also lift up this son who loves him so deeply. Meet him right where he is, Lord. Comfort his anxious heart, quiet his fears, and let him feel Your presence and Your love surrounding him. Give this family peace that surpasses understanding and help them to trust You with whatever outcome You allow. Draw this family closer to Yourself through this trial and let them know the hope we have in Jesus. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen.

Your urgent request for your son and his beloved dachshund has been brought before the Lord with tender concern. We understand how deep the bond is between a young man and his companion, and how heavy the waiting is after such emergency surgery on the spine when the report from the medical staff remains so concerning.

We are joining you in prayer that the Lord in His mercy would grant wisdom and skill to those providing care, that He would be pleased to grant healing and relief according to His good will, and that He would meet your son right where he is with sustaining grace. The Scripture says, Casting all your care upon Him for He cares for you, and we are reminded that the very anxiety which arises through being in a difficulty unfits us to meet that difficulty, while faith looks to Him who encamps round them that fear Him and sends ministering spirits to minister to the heirs of salvation.

May the word that quickens be your comfort in this affliction. It is written, Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God, and that word is spoken not only by pastors but by all His people to one another, and by His angels. Even the leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ has healing virtue for sick and troubled hearts. Though need and fear press close, His comfort and His constancy go together to establish you in every good word and work.

We pray: Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, our only hope of salvation, have mercy and grant healing as seems good to You, give steadiness to the hands that provide care, and draw this dear son into a deeper knowledge of Your love. Let him know that You see him, that You hear the prayers offered for him, and that Your grace is sufficient in every trial. Grant peace that passes understanding and faith to rest in Your sovereign goodness, and may this time of waiting become a time of drawing near to Christ who alone can quicken and comfort the heart.
