Urgent Prayer for healing and pain relief after surgery

Anonymous

Beloved of All
### had a surgery on her shoulder yesterday. Doctors have said everything went well but ### is crying that the pain is unbearable. I'm unable to look at her suffering from the pain. She's also stressed that she can't be back and do normal activities for quite some time and is crying. Please pray for her that Jesus may remove her pain and suffering completely and also heal her perfectly. Thank you for your prayers.

We join you in lifting up your loved one before our Heavenly Father and we thank you for asking us to pray in the name of Jesus, for it is through Him alone that we have access to the throne of grace.

Our hearts ache with you as you watch her suffer after her shoulder surgery. It is so difficult to see someone we love in unbearable pain and tears, and to feel helpless to take that pain away. We also understand her stress and discouragement at facing a long recovery and not being able to return to normal activities. The Lord sees her tears and yours, and He is close to the brokenhearted.

We take comfort in His promises for healing and peace. Psalm 147:3 says He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. Jeremiah 30:17 declares But I will restore you to health, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. And Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit, Psalm 34:18. For the pain and anxiety she is feeling now, we cling to Isaiah 41:10, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. And for the stress about the future, Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

We pray together for her now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Great Physician. We thank You that the surgery went well and we praise You for the skill You have given the doctors and medical team. Now we ask for Your merciful hand upon Your daughter. Lord, please touch her shoulder and remove this unbearable pain. Ease her suffering, calm her body, and let the medications and treatment work effectively to bring relief. We ask You to heal her perfectly and completely, to restore the tissues, bones and muscles, and to bring about a full and speedy recovery without complication. Fill her heart with Your peace that surpasses understanding and take away her stress and fear about the weeks ahead. Help her to rest in Your grace and to be patient as her body heals in Your timing. Comfort also the one who loves her and is burdened to see her in pain, give him peace and strength as he supports her. We trust that Your grace is sufficient and Your power is made perfect in weakness, 2 Corinthians 12:9. May she feel Your presence very near and know that You are upholding her with Your righteous right hand. We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, our healer and our hope, amen.

We encourage you both to continue to follow the doctors instructions carefully, to rest and allow the body time to heal, and to let others help with daily activities during this season. Recovery can feel slow, but God often uses these quiet times to teach us to lean on Him and to receive care from others. Keep praying together, reading His Word, and casting every worry on Him because He cares for you, 1 Peter 5:7. We will continue to pray that the Lord will relieve her pain quickly and restore her to full health for His glory.

Thank you for reaching out and for the tender way you are caring for her. It is so hard to watch someone you love cry in pain and feel unable to take it away, and we hear how heavy this has been for both of you.

It makes sense she is overwhelmed right now. The first days after shoulder surgery are often the most painful even when the doctors are pleased with how the procedure went, and facing weeks of limited movement can feel discouraging and frightening.

Since her pain still feels unbearable, we encourage you to contact her surgical team or the post-operative nurse line promptly today to let them know exactly how she is doing. They can assess whether her pain plan needs adjusting and advise what to watch for as she heals. It can help to write down when the pain is worst, what helps even a little, and any questions you have, so you can share that clearly with them. Staying close to their instructions for rest and positioning will also give her body the best chance to recover, alongside your prayers.

We are holding you both in prayer and we are grateful you asked us to join you.

Father, we lift her to You in her pain and ask for Your mercy and comfort to be near to her. Please ease her suffering, guide her medical team with wisdom, and give her and her loved one peace and strength for each day of healing. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen.

Your cry has come before us and we have carried it to the throne of grace on behalf of your dear one who suffers so greatly after her surgery.

We grieve with you to hear that though the surgeons report that all went well, yet pain remains unbearable and tears flow, and the heart is burdened by the thought of many weeks before strength shall return. Bodily diseases are too painful to let us slumber in silence and they soon urge us to seek the physician, and how much more do they urge us to seek the heavenly Physician. Blessed be God, there is abundant healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the very leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. The Sun of Righteousness has risen with healing in His wings, and when He draws near, pardon and healing are found together in His hand.

Let us pray together for her. O Lord Jesus, Thou great conduit Head from whom abundant streams of healing flow down to men below, look in compassion upon this suffering one. Thou knowest the pain of the body and the heaviness of the spirit. Lay Thy hand upon her as Thou didst take her by the hand and lift her up. We beseech Thee for her, give ease from this cruel pain, calm her cries, quiet her fears, and let Thy healing virtue work in her shoulder and in all her frame. Perfect that which the surgeon's hand has begun, and grant unto her perfect healing according to Thy wise and loving will. Give also to those who watch and weep beside her a calm trust in Thy care, for Thou art the feeder of sparrows and Thou wilt not pass over Thy children in their need.

Take comfort that recovery is often a long process. You may crush in a moment, but you cannot so speedily cure. As with those who have tossed long upon the weary bed of pain, the weakened limbs only recover strength by slow degrees. Wonder not if restoration should be slow, and as she grows a little stronger and a little stronger, acknowledge in each increase of strength that the Lord has a new claim upon your affection and thanksgiving. He has begun to heal and the healing virtue which His grace has infused will work health and cure. Continue to plead His promises and plead His nature, for He delights to hear the prayer of love offered for the sick. May the Lord grant her sleep free from pain, patience in waiting, and joy in knowing that whether He lifts the pain at once or by gentle degrees, He is near, He cares, and His leaves fail not to heal.

We will continue to remember her before the Lord until strength is restored.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
