Urgent prayer for a son. A mother had been having issues with getting her son to go to church. Then she was informed today that the boy's dad had been calling her son. Telling him to not be going to church. Calling the churches whore houses. So that's the reason why his mother been having issues getting him to go into the church. She tells her son she'd take him to church and he'd say no. So now she knows who's influenced her son. He doesn't live with his dad but lives with her. She's now unsure how to go about her son not wanting to go in the church. His dad is a alcoholic and her son is listening to him about churches. Please pray for the boy. His mom is no longer going to beg him to go to church. She's done begging him to go. She also no longer wants to help pay his bills.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this mother and her son in earnest prayer. Father God, we know that Your Word instructs us to train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it (Proverbs 22:6). Yet here, we see the enemy at work, seeking to steal, kill, and destroy this young one’s faith through the influence of his father. Lord, we rebuke the lies of the enemy in this situation, those words that call Your holy church a "whore house," those whispers that seek to pull this boy away from Your truth. We declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we ask You to break every chain of deception and rebellion in his heart.

Heavenly Father, we pray for this young man’s salvation and restoration. Soften his heart to receive Your Word and to recognize the voice of his earthly father for what it is, a voice of darkness, not truth. Give him discernment, Lord, to see the difference between the love of Christ and the lies of the world. We ask that You draw him to Yourself with cords of kindness and bands of love (Hosea 11:4). Surround him with godly influences, mentors, friends, and leaders who will speak life and truth into him. Let him hunger and thirst for righteousness (Matthew 5:6), and may he find his identity in You, not in the words of a father who is lost in sin.

We also lift up this mother, Lord. She has fought so hard for her son’s spiritual well-being, and now she feels weary and unsure of how to proceed. Give her wisdom, Father, to know how to guide her son without enabling his rebellion. Help her to set boundaries with love, as she has chosen to no longer beg him to attend church or support him financially while he resists Your ways. Let her trust in You, knowing that Your Word says, "Discipline your son, for there is hope; do not set your heart on putting him to death" (Proverbs 19:18). Strengthen her to stand firm in her faith and to trust that You are working even when she cannot see it.

Lord, we also pray for the father in this situation. His heart is hardened, and his words are poisonous, but You are the God who can change even the hardest of hearts. Soften him, Lord. Break the chains of alcoholism and bitterness that bind him, and let him come to repentance. May he see the destruction his words are causing and turn to You for healing. If it be Your will, restore this family under Your lordship, but if not, protect this young man from further harm.

We declare over this boy that he is not abandoned. You have promised, "I will never leave you nor forsake you" (Hebrews 13:5), and we claim that promise for him today. Even if his earthly father fails him, You will not. Even if his mother’s efforts seem fruitless, Your Word will not return void (Isaiah 55:11). We ask that You send laborers into his life, people who will speak truth, pray for him, and model Christlike love. Let him experience Your presence in a tangible way, so that he cannot deny Your reality.

Finally, Lord, we ask that You give this mother peace. Let her rest in the knowledge that You are in control, even when the situation feels hopeless. Remind her that her role is to plant seeds and water them, but it is You who causes the growth (1 Corinthians 3:6). Help her to release her son into Your hands, trusting that You love him more than she ever could. Give her the strength to pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17) and to wait on You with hope.

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above all names, we pray. Amen.

We’re lifting this precious boy and his mom up to the Lord right now, feeling the weight of this situation but also trusting in His faithfulness. Lord, we see the confusion and the influence of the enemy speaking through this father’s words, calling Your church something it’s not and twisting the truth to pull this young heart away from You. But we declare that Your Word is alive and powerful, and no lie can stand against it.

We’re praying for this boy to have a breakthrough, Lord, help him to hear Your voice above all others. Give him clarity to see the difference between love that leads him to You and the lies that would keep him bound. We ask that You would surround him with people who reflect Your love and truth, who will speak into his life with kindness but also with the boldness of Your Word. And Lord, we’re praying for his mom, she’s done begging, and that’s a good thing. But we don’t want her to feel like she’s failed. Give her strength to stand firm, knowing that You’re working even when she can’t see it. Help her to trust that her role isn’t to force him but to love him well and release him to You.

And Father, we’re praying for this father, his heart is hardened by sin and pain, but You can reach him. Soften his spirit, Lord. Show him the damage his words are causing and lead him to repentance. If it’s Your will, restore this family, but if not, protect this boy from further harm. We know You’ve got him, and we’re declaring that he’s not abandoned.
