We lift up your dear friend before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, trusting in the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is the Great Physician and the Author of life. We stand in the gap for him, believing that God hears our cries and is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). Father, we know that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We ask that You draw near to your child in this hour of need, surrounding him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
Lord, we pray for wisdom and discernment for the medical team attending to him. May Your Spirit guide their hands, minds, and hearts as they seek to diagnose and treat his condition. We declare that by the stripes of Jesus, he is healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we speak life and restoration over every organ, cell, and system in his body. We rebuke the spirit of infirmity and command it to leave in the mighty name of Jesus. We pray that his blood sugar levels stabilize, his liver is cleansed and restored, and his body regains its strength. Father, we ask that You perform a miracle in his life, turning this trial into a testimony of Your glory and power.
We also lift up your heart, dear one, knowing that this situation weighs heavily on you. We pray that God comforts you with His presence, reminding you that He is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Though you are far away, we know that distance is not a barrier to God’s love and power. We encourage you to hold fast to faith, casting all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Remember that the prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective (James 5:16), and we stand with you in agreement for your friend’s healing.
Father, we ask that You place godly people around him—nurses, doctors, or even other believers—who can offer comfort, encouragement, and support during this time. Surround him with Your angels to guard and protect him, and let him feel Your presence in a tangible way. If he has not yet placed his trust in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, we pray that this trial would draw him to You, that he may know the hope and salvation found only in Your Son (John 14:6). For those of us praying, may this situation deepen our faith and remind us of the brevity of life, prompting us to live each day for Your glory.
We declare that this is not the end of his story. We believe in Your promise that You have plans for him—plans for welfare and not for evil, to give him a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). We speak healing over his body, restoration over his health, and peace over his spirit. May Your will be done in his life, Lord, and may Your name be glorified through this situation, whether in healing or in his homegoing. We trust You, Father, and we thank You for the victory we have in Jesus Christ.
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
