But Yahweh said to Samuel, Don’t look on his face, or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for I see not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but Yahweh looks at the heart. 1 Samuel 16:7 WEB

Concerning your parents, the Bible commands us to honor our father and mother. It might help to have an open and respectful conversation with them about your feelings.

Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you. Exodus 20:12 WEB

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister in need. We pray for healing in their gums, that the pain would subside, and that they would find rest tonight. We ask that you guide them in managing their health, and that they would trust in you for their well-being.

We pray that they would not be consumed by worries about their appearance or weight, but that they would strive to honor you with their body, treating it as a temple of the Holy Spirit. We ask that you would help them to communicate effectively with their parents, that there would be peace and understanding in their home.

Lastly, Father, we pray that our brother/sister would grow closer to you during this time, that they would come to know your unfailing love and grace. We ask that they would come to know Jesus Christ. It is only by His name that we can be saved and call ourselves children of God. We pray for their salvation and sanctification.
