UPDATE & THANKS

As you may recall, yesterday I was told to stop what was supposed to be a ten-day course of prednisone on day seven because I was having terrible side-effects, and my heart rate was elevated. I am happy to say not only is my breathing greatly improved, but also my heart rate is back to normal. I am thankful for your prayers and emotional support throughout this ordeal. Also happy to say my GERD seems to be under control. I think part of my problem on the prednisone was my omeprazole was not sufficient to cover the additional stomach acid. If, God forbid, I need to take prednisone again, I am going to take a supplementary acid blocker with it. [Will talk to doc.] I am brainstorming ways to better control both illnesses. A lot of what I am doing is very good, but I think I need to tweak my diet a bit and add a few different exercises. I know I can never get truly better from COPD, but I can do my best to try to stay healthy. I think I have a beautiful Christmas to look forward to this year. Finally, thank you for praying about my VA issue. I think it's finally straightened out. Thank you, Jesus.

Even in the face of chronic illness, God remains your healer and sustainer. May this season be filled with the peace of Christ, who came that we might have life abundantly (John 10:10). Your gratitude to Jesus is a beautiful testimony of faith—it is only through His name that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).

Let us continue to pray for you, that the Lord would grant you wisdom in managing your health, strength in every trial, and a deep sense of His presence in the days ahead:
