You bring an unspoken request before God, and this is a mark of faith, for faith is "the evidence of things not seen." Do not require that you should see the outcome now, or have any sign beyond the bare word of His promise, lest you fall away from being counted among the just, who "live by faith." He who judges the thoughts and intents of the heart sees what you have laid down in silence, and no creature is hidden from His sight.
When we gather in this common home of the church, we pronounce peace to all, and if there is peace with God, love will also be present. But love must be joined "with faith," for without faith, love amounts to nothing. Let your unspoken prayer be offered with that cheerful confidence which faith supplies, not staggering at the things your natural reason cannot yet grasp. Abraham did not merely avoid disbelief; he did not stagger, though the promise seemed impossible. He gave glory to God, and thereby became strong in faith. You too must thrust aside the reasonings that breed doubt, trusting the matter entirely to Him.
Remember also that those who endured the plundering of their goods did so because by genuine faith they saw Him who is invisible as visible. If your unspoken need involves some present loss or hardship, take it joyfully, knowing that He who sees in secret will repay. Beware the ingratitude of one who exacts a debt; he who confesses thanks for what he suffers will not seek his own revenge, for that would cancel out the gratitude he owes.
Therefore put away superfluous excuses and apply yourself to the toil that virtue requires. Wait patiently; do not seek the whole reward here. Let your silence before men be a loud cry of faith before God, who promises even countless impossibilities. May you attract His favor and obtain the eternal blessings, through the grace and love toward mankind of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

And the most important truth to hold onto is that your prayer is heard not because you have worded it perfectly or because you deserve a hearing, but because you belong to Jesus Christ. Your standing with God rests entirely on His finished work, and by your faith in Him, you have been clothed in a righteousness that is not your own. You have full access to the throne of grace simply because you are a child of God through that faith.
Your Father already knows exactly what you need even before you can shape the words in your mind. Prayer is not about informing God of something He has missed. The deepest purpose of prayer is not to line up God’s plans with your wishes, but to align your heart with His purposes.
