Unpaid police penalty by the former landlord

Kensem

Beloved of All
Please pray for the former landlord in Jesus' name so that he feels remorse and resolves the issue with the police, both here and abroad, where the penalty is overdue/unpaid.

We join you in bringing this matter before the Lord and we appreciate your desire to pray for your former landlord rather than holding bitterness toward him.

We understand your concern that an unpaid police penalty, both here and abroad, remains unresolved and overdue. Scripture is clear that God has ordained governing authorities for order and justice, and that we are to honor them and fulfill what we owe. Romans 13:1 says Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God. And Romans 13:7 says Give therefore to everyone what you owe: taxes to whom taxes are due; customs to whom customs; respect to whom respect; honor to whom honor. To leave a lawful penalty unpaid is to owe what should be rendered, and Romans 13:8 reminds us Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law. It is right to pray that your former landlord would take responsibility and make restitution where it is due.

We also pray that the Lord would grant him godly sorrow that leads to true repentance. 2 Corinthians 7:10 says For godly sorrow produces repentance to salvation, which brings no regret. But the sorrow of the world produces death. Our desire is not merely that he would feel bad, but that his heart would be convicted by the Holy Spirit to do what is just and honest before God and before the authorities. Proverbs 21:15 says It is joy to the righteous to do justice; but it is a destruction to the workers of iniquity. And the Lord desires that none should remain hardened, for 2 Peter 3:9 says The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but he is patient with us, not wishing that anyone should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

We pray together now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace. You see this situation fully, both what has happened here and abroad, and nothing is hidden from You. We lift up this former landlord to You. We ask that You would work in his heart and conscience, that he would feel the conviction of Your Spirit and understand the seriousness of leaving what is owed to the authorities unpaid. Grant him remorse that leads to repentance and action. Give him willingness and the means to resolve this issue with the police in every place where the penalty is overdue. Remove any spirit of evasion or hardness, and help him to act with integrity, honesty and humility to make things right.

We also pray for the authorities involved, that justice would be carried out with fairness and mercy, and that this matter would be settled without further harm or complication for anyone. And we pray for the one who brought this request, that You would give peace and freedom from anxiety or resentment, and help us all to trust that You are just and that You will work all things for good for those who love You. Help us to forgive as You have forgiven us, while still desiring what is right and lawful.

We ask all of this in the precious and only name by which we have access to You and by which we are saved, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

We hear how frustrating it is to be caught in the wake of someone else's unpaid penalty, especially when it involves the police both here and abroad. It's understandable to want your former landlord to take ownership and clear what is overdue.

We are joining you in prayer that he will feel the weight of this responsibility and choose to make things right with the authorities rather than leave it unresolved. We also know that gap between what you hope he will do and what has actually happened so far can leave you feeling stuck and carrying the worry for him.

One steady step that can help while you pray is to make sure your own position is clear and protected. Keeping copies of your former lease, move out documentation and any notices you received, and if needed asking a local tenant advice service or legal aid office to confirm you are not liable for his penalty, can bring peace of mind and keep the burden from growing. It does not replace prayer but it can help you know where you stand.

Father, we lift this landlord to You and ask that You stir his conscience to address what is owed and to resolve matters with the police honestly and promptly. We ask for wisdom and protection for our friend who is praying, for clarity about any next steps, and for peace as they trust You with the outcome. Give them rest from this burden and let what is right be done in a way that honors You. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your request concerning the former landlord and the unpaid penalty due to the police, both here and abroad, has been brought before the Lord with care.

We are reminded that judgment alone may produce a carnal repentance, a repentance that is of the flesh and after the manner of the sinful nature of men, which trembles at consequences but does not turn to God. True repentance is of another sort. It is the work of the Spirit of God, a repentance unto life which gives God glory, which stands at the Cross and sees sin forgiven and then grieves more deeply for having laid that sin upon the Lord. Such repentance is not in word only, but yields works meet for repentance, practical and lasting, leaving the sins we loved before and showing by doing so no more that we in earnest grieve.

Therefore our prayer for this man is not merely that he might feel unease or fear of the penalty, but that God in mercy would grant him that holy, healthy, heavenly repentance which needs not to be repented of. We ask that the Lord would bring him to see his duty before God and before man, to abhor what is dishonest and to walk in truth, and that this godly sorrow would lead him to act justly and to resolve what is overdue with the proper authorities, rendering what is due and clearing what remains unpaid.

There is forgiveness with God, and that forgiveness is only to be obtained through Jesus Christ His Son, who bore the punishment that justice required, so that God will not exact the penalty twice. If this landlord, or any of us, confesses sin with a penitent heart and looks out of self to Christ and to Christ only, there is forgiveness, full and complete, surprising in its grace and eternal in its effect. May he be led to seek it while it may be found, and may that forgiveness produce in him a new heart that loves honesty and restitution.

We pray also for you who have carried this burden, that you may rest in the knowledge that God is the great Landlord of all, who has at all times the right to enter His own property and to order all things justly. May you be kept from anxiety and enabled to trust His providence, to act with integrity in all your dealings, and to continue in prayer for the soul and conduct of this man.

We join you in asking these things in the name of Jesus Christ, the only Saviour, that God would be glorified both in repentance and in forgiveness, and that what is owed may be righteously discharged.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your request concerning the unpaid police penalty left by your former landlord has been heard, and we join you in bringing it before the Lord in Jesus name.

We pray that God in His mercy would grant this man godly sorrow that works repentance unto salvation, not merely regret or outward tears, but a true turning of heart that bears fruit in action. Scripture warns us that sorrow alone is not repentance, as Esau sought the blessing carefully with tears yet did not repent as he ought, and his deeds afterward proved it. So we ask that the Lord would open this landlord's eyes to see his responsibility clearly and move him to do what is right.

We pray also that he would understand that we must give account not only for deeds but for our words and obligations, and that if a penalty is not faced and resolved now, it will still stand before God. The Church is a spiritual bath where God has given many ways of repentance, and He makes the return easy for those who truly turn. No sin is beyond forgiveness for the one who comes in true repentance through Christ, for Christ came not to condemn but to save, and even those who had spoken against Him were forgiven when they believed.

Therefore we ask the Lord to stir his conscience, to give him honesty and diligence to resolve what is overdue with the police, both here and abroad, to pay what is owed and to make restitution where it is needed. We pray that God would give him courage to act promptly and to clear what has been left unsettled, so that neither you nor others bear the burden of his neglect.

We also pray for you, that you may be kept from bitterness and anxiety in this matter, and that you may rest in God's justice and mercy, trusting that He sees all and will bring what is hidden to light. May the Lord give you peace as you commit this to Him, and may He work in this landlord's heart for his own good and for the good of all involved.

We offer this prayer trusting in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, who alone is our salvation, and who calls all people to repentance and new life.
