Twisting Scriptures to our "benefit"

What brought this to mind is there's a certain politician who became a presidential hopeful who, by all appearances, is doing this. Vice President ### is a Christian. And hearing his viewpoints, he follows it. But now, we have this gay guy ### running around pretty much saying that Christians who call homosexuality a sin, that THEY'RE the ones who are misled, and if you don't approve of his gay lifestyle, YOU'RE the one arguing with God, because God created him that way. [That's interesting, as my reading of Genesis tells Eve {a woman} was created as a helpmeet for Adam, not another man. Also, when this guy spouts off about it's God's decision to "make him gay," I wonder what he does with verses like, "When a man lies with a man as he does with a woman, it is an abomination before God." And citing those who won't get into Heaven, "...nor men who lie with men." {"Even the women gave up their NATURAL affection"} NATURAL affection, but according to this guy God made him that way. {The actual reality of it is, we inherited sin from Adam and Eve, and that's why we see these perversions of the natural.} But what I don't like, don't go twisting scripture telling me God made you that way, and therefore He approves of it. To me, that sounds like someone WANTS TO keep a certain sin habit, so instead of calling it sin, they "justify it by saying, "well, God "created them" that way. Won't work on Judgment Day, though. This guy says if you disapprove of his gay lifestyle, you're arguing with God, because God gave His approval of his lifestyle. So where does twisting Scripture rate as a sin? {It's, at least, lying.} Because this guy is not just gay but calls himself a Christian, and says the Christians who don't give him a stamp of approval for being gay, THEY'RE not the true Christians. Very misled. "God will not be mocked."

💖Some people add Jesus to their lives, while others submit their lives to Jesus. Some of those who add Jesus to their lives will twist Scriptures that includes Dem. Rep. and the Independent Voter.
Let’s Pray: God I ask You in Jesus’ name, please help me to submit and surrender my entire life (including my wants, needs, desires, actions, and appetites) into Your hands. God please reign in and rule over my life. God I give you permission to take total complete control of my life. God all that I have asked of You in this prayer, please do the same for all those I love, care about, and the writer of this prayer. Bless each of us to give You permission to take total complete control of our life. Thank You Jesus. Amen.

“Is Jesus an addition or submission in your life?” Some people add Jesus to their lives, while others submit their lives to Jesus. Addition means, “Add to a part.” You add Jesus to a part of your life as your Savior, but you don’t submit to Him. You just go on living your regular life. Submission means, “An act of submitting to the authority or control of another.” You submit your life to Jesus by surrendering your entire life to Him, allowing Him to have complete control/rule over your life.

Steven Bobb, ye shall know a true Christian who loves the Lord with all his heart, mind and soul when his or her fruit is full of the Holy Spirit living in them. This person should show love, joy peace, have a merciful heart and love others just as Jesus did. If you do not see those wonderful gifts coming from heaven, the, that person is an impostor, the one who is using God's word for his own benefit and purpose. Satan do this all the time. He said to Jesus. Turn these stones to bread, but Jesus did not listen to him. All we have to do for anyone who is using Scriptures for his own purpose is to fast and pray for them. They are lost and need a Savior. Jesus alone can turn their life around and become faithful servants of the living God.

Oh, it's not just politicians, that guy came to mind because he's been repeating that over and over. I've seen examples of it with the "Hollywood set", for a while it was "trendy" to call yourself a "Christian" (Christian with quotation marks), yet at the same time some admitted they had "open marriages", also into some occult beliefs, whatever. Before the Rapture, anyone can backslide, but this twisting the Scriptures to suit themselves, saying God approves of it as an excuse to keep doing it...a little much. Guess that's why Jesus said, "Not everyone who calls me Lord, Lord, will enter into Heaven, but he who does the will of the Father. On that day many will come on the basis of my name saying, 'Lord, Lord, did we not cast out demons in Your name, and in Your name do many mighty works?' And I will say to them, 'Depart from me, you workers of inequity, I never knew you.'"

You should and even could be the one to possibly get through to this person as well as other people as well by writing them personal letters marked for your eyes only even sending the letters return receipt to make sure that they get them as well as giving them contact info so that they could respond. Who knows, sounds like a wonderful calling getting someone like that to return unto Jesus. God Himself would throw some wonderful parties all because of what you did. Sharing with us doesn't necessarily help the person you are talking about unless you share with them as well :)

Yeah I wouldn't have a problem with that, I would like to see how he reconciles his statements with those Scriptures I quoted. So far, from what I hear from what Christian vice president ### quotes, because this guy is misled, part of being misled is thinking you're right when you're wrong, and that's how he responds so far. Guess that's why we add prayer to witnessing, we witness, but I guess from there it's God's job to make them receptive to it.

I was thinking that you made some good points but wouldn't those points be better made to the actual individual? Repentance is a big part of what being a Christian is all about, isn't it? Do you suppose he was warned properly with the scriptures you mentioned?

No if I had his address, I wouldn't mind quoting to him--so far, how he's reacted when I've heard of other Christians telling him is he thinks they're "bigots" because they don't accept his gay lifestyle, and that he's the true Christian. But I would like to see how he reconciles his "beliefs" with the scriptures quoted. Probably just ignore me, but you have a point, witnessing is our commission.

Just do a search online for an address to send a donation to him and that will give you the address :)
