Beloved of All
๐Ÿ™‡๐ŸปTurns to God Acts 3:19, Washing and Renewal by The Holy Spirit, Tit 3:3-8 ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ๐Ÿ‘ Opened by ๐Ÿ’ก of God's ๐Ÿ“– 2 Cor 4:4-6, Repents of being own god choosing good and evil for herself apart from God's Word, Gen 3:1-15 (It's not working well for her)... New ๐Ÿ’ Ezek 36:26 Experiences New Birth Jesus said is a necessity, Jn 3:3-7... Father, You will that none would perish but all come to repentance, 2 Pet 3:9. Grant her wisdom and revelation to actually know You, Eph 1:17. The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of The Holy one is understanding, Prov 9:10. Surely You take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather they turn from their evil ways and live, Ezek 33:11... You desire all people to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth, 1 Tim 2:4. Eternal fire was prepared for the devil and his angels, Matt 25:41, not humans that were originally made to image God, Gen 1:27.

We ask for grace to add fasting, Mk 4:29, which the early church said, "fasting and giving lends wings to prayer," (Tertullian, 155AD - 240AD). Help the one compassionate, honest and understanding family member learn to fear God all the day long, Prov 23:17, get saved herself, and witness to truth, 1 Tim 4:16. Forgive this one who has broken covenantal faith and vows with no remorse or repentance, for leading men into adultery and thus destruction, Prov 6:32, for neglecting pastoral counsel, texts and phone calls for months. If a king's heart is as channels of water in Your hand, Prov 21:1, how much more an individual that has chosen to feed on raisin cakes and needs repentance from serious sins, which Hosea's "deal with her" was based on repentance, see Hos 3:1-5. As this one is unwilling to reconcile, wants divorce, says we are done and though I've reached out, prayed and fasted, is still as unwilling to return a text, much less return to me as most of Jerusalem was unwilling to gather under the wings of God Almighty or come to Jesus, over which He publicly wept, they having stoned those sent to rescue them, Matt 23:37... Thankfully she is in a country that is impossible to get a divorce. I know I have the adultery clause from Jesus which allows me to divorce and remarry, Matt 5:32, Matt 19:9, however only in The Lord, 1 Cor 7:39, see being equally yoked, 2 Cor 6:14-15, Old Testament precedent, Gen 24:3-4. And is she is unsaved, which everything indicates, there is the desertion by an unbelieving spouse clause, 1 Cor 7:15, where traditional, modern and ancient Jewish theology all allow for remarriage as if the unbelieving spouse (or adulteress) "were dead." However I am thinking and asking for repentance and salvation here, 2 Peter 3:9, 1 Tim 2:1-4, and ask that THAT may yield a remarkable testimony of God's saving grace, 1 Tim 1:15-16, and exemplify Christ and The Church, Eph 5:32-33. So I again ask for wisdom, Prov 2:1-5, Col 1:9-10, James 1:5, and for love to abound in knowledge and discernment to choose the highest, Phil 1:9-11, yet asking for it loosely as CHRIST in the Garden of Gethsemane, Matt 26:39, Mk 14:36, Luke 22:42 -- Your will be done, Heb 5:7.

Soften her heart and protect her (also the youth, and all of us that actually ask God to save her so the little ones do not stumble, Mt 18:16, Mk 9:42, Lk 17:2), keep her from temptation and evil, Matt 6:13. Let LIGHT SHINE that penetrates darkness, Jn 1:5, 1 Jn 1:5, 2 Cor 4:4, 2 Cor 4:6, to open their eyes, turning this one from the power of darkness to light, and power of satan to God, that they may partake of the inheritance along with all who are sanctified by faith in Jesus Christ, Acts 26:18, 1 Cor 1:30. Help her, them (and all of us) use our "Bible Apps" and understand what it says enough to let the Words You have caused to live inside become flesh in real life, Jn 1:12, James 1:22-23. Let "Jesus Christ's love be publicly portrayed," Gal 3:1, and model it to each and every family member, those most near and dear and beyond and blinded -- let us be living epistles known and read by all, 2 Cor 3:2. All Scripture is inspired by God Almighty and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right," 2 Tim 3:15-16. "Do not take us out of the world, but keep us from the evil one," John 17:15. "Sanctify us by the truth; Your word is truth," John 17:17. Thank you in The Name of Jesus, The One Mediator between God and Man, 1 Tim 2:5, in Jesus' Name.

"I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will remove your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh," Ezek 36:26.
โ€œBut this is the covenant I'll make... I'll put My law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I'll be their God; they'll be My people," Jer 31:33.
Jesus replied, โ€œTruly, truly, I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless one is born again," Jn 3:3, "Do not be amazed that I said, โ€˜You must be born again,'" John 3:7.

We stand with you in this painful and complex season, lifting up your marriage and the soul of your spouse before the throne of grace. Your request is saturated with Scripture and a heart that longs for redemption, both for her and for the covenant you once shared. We grieve with you over the hardness of heart, the broken vows, and the refusal to reconcile, even as we cling to the hope that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).

First, we must address the gravity of what has transpired. The Bible is clear that marriage is a sacred covenant before God, a reflection of Christโ€™s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). When one spouse willfully breaks that covenant through adultery, as you have described, it is a grievous sin, not only against you but against the Lord Himself. Proverbs 6:32 warns, "He who commits adultery with a woman lacks understanding; he who does it destroys his own soul." Yet even in this, we do not lose hope, for our God is a God of restoration. Hoseaโ€™s marriage to Gomer, a woman who repeatedly betrayed him, stands as a powerful testament to Godโ€™s relentless pursuit of the unfaithful. Though Hosea was commanded to "deal with her" (Hosea 3:1-5), it was always with the goal of repentance and restoration. Your prayers and fasting for her soul are not in vain; they are the very means by which God may soften her heart.

We must also address the spiritual state of your spouse. You have rightly noted that her actions, rejecting pastoral counsel, refusing reconciliation, and persisting in sin, strongly suggest she is unsaved. This is not a judgment but a sober observation based on Scripture. Jesus said, "You will know them by their fruits" (Matthew 7:16). A heart that remains unrepentant, that prefers its own way over Godโ€™s, is a heart that does not yet know the Lord. But this is not the end of the story. The same God who said, "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you" (Ezekiel 36:26) is still at work. We pray that the Holy Spirit would convict her of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8), and that she would turn to Christ in genuine repentance.

You have mentioned the biblical grounds for divorce in cases of adultery (Matthew 5:32, 19:9) and desertion by an unbelieving spouse (1 Corinthians 7:15). These are serious considerations, and we do not take them lightly. However, your heartโ€™s desire for her salvation is commendable and aligns with Godโ€™s will. 2 Peter 3:9 reminds us that the Lord is "not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." We join you in praying that God would grant her the gift of repentance (2 Timothy 2:25) and that her story would become a testimony of His saving grace.

Yet we must also address the reality of your own heart in this. You have sought wisdom, prayed fervently, and even fasted, all of which are pleasing to the Lord. But we must ask: Are you guarding your own heart in this season? Proverbs 4:23 warns, "Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life." Bitterness, anger, and despair can take root when we focus solely on the injustice done to us. We pray that God would fill you with His peace, that you would trust Him to be your Defender (Psalm 35:1), and that you would continue to walk in love, even toward one who has wronged you. Romans 12:19-21 exhorts us, "Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, โ€˜Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,โ€™ says the Lord. Therefore โ€˜If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.โ€™ Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."

We also lift up the youth and other family members affected by this situation. Matthew 18:6 warns, "But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea." The ripple effects of sin are far-reaching, and we pray that God would protect the hearts of the innocent and that they would not stumble because of this brokenness. May they see Christ in you, even in this trial, and may your life be a living epistle that points them to the truth (2 Corinthians 3:2).

Now, we turn to the Lord in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this marriage and the soul of this woman who has strayed so far from Your ways. Lord, You see the pain, the betrayal, and the hardness of heart. You also see the longing for restoration and the desire for her salvation. We ask that You would break through the darkness that blinds her, that You would shine the light of Your truth into her heart (2 Corinthians 4:6). Soften her heart of stone and give her a heart of flesh (Ezekiel 36:26). Convict her of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and lead her to repentance.

Father, we pray for wisdom for our brother in this season. Give him clarity to discern Your will and the strength to walk in it. Guard his heart from bitterness and resentment, and fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Help him to love as You love, even when it is difficult, and to trust You with the outcome of this situation.

Lord, we also pray for the family members affected by this brokenness. Protect their hearts and minds, and draw them closer to You. May they see Your faithfulness even in the midst of pain, and may they grow in their knowledge of You.

We ask that You would move mightily in this situation, that Your name would be glorified, and that Your will would be done. Whether that means restoration of this marriage or the freedom to move forward in a way that honors You, we trust You to lead. We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who reconciles us to God and to one another. Amen.

Finally, we encourage you to continue seeking godly counsel, whether through your pastor, a trusted Christian counselor, or a small group of believers who can walk with you in this season. You do not have to carry this burden alone. Galatians 6:2 reminds us, "Bear one anotherโ€™s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ." Lean on the body of Christ, and allow others to support you in prayer and practical ways.

Remember, too, that your identity is not defined by this trial. You are a child of God, redeemed by the blood of Christ, and nothing can separate you from His love (Romans 8:38-39). Even in this pain, He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and trust Him to lead you forward.

We hear the deep ache in your words, the longing for a wife who has turned away, the exhaustion of reaching out and receiving silence in return. That kind of waiting wears on a person. It can feel like standing in an empty room, hoping the door will open again. We don't want to rush past that weight. What you're carrying is heavy, and it makes sense that some days it feels like too much.

The slow, grinding pain of a marriage broken by unfaithfulness and hard-heartedness is its own kind of grief. As one resource we trust notes, divorce is very much like experiencing a death, it is the death of a marriage, and recovery often takes years. Even when you're praying for resurrection in the relationship, you're still walking through the reality of what has already died. Naming it that way isn't a lack of faith; it's honest. You can grieve what is and still hope for what could be.

For the days when hope feels thin, we would gently encourage you to surround yourself with a few people who will simply sit with you in this, not to fix it or give you more verses to cling to, but to be present. Is there a mature believer or small group where you can be fully honest about the struggle, without performing or rushing to a resolution? Letting others carry this with you, especially when your own prayers feel worn out, can steady your heart.

---

Jesus, we lift up this husband who is weary and sorrowful. Give him Your nearness in the silence. Guard his heart from despair and from the temptation to close off in bitterness. We ask You to work in his wife's heart, to break through what is hard and bring her to true repentance and saving faith. Protect her and the young ones from lasting harm. Grant him the wisdom he keeps asking for, and help him rest in Your will even while he waits. In Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

It is well that you have brought this burden before the Lord, and that you plead the promises of His Word. The very wrestling of your soul betrays a heart that has tasted that the Lord is gracious, for none but those born of the Spirit can truly agonize for the soul of another. Yet take heed that your own spirit does not become entangled in bitterness over the wrongs done to you. The offense is grievous; the wounds are deep; but the medicine of the Gospel is deeper still. You have chosen the better part, to pray for repentance rather than to rush into the freedom the law might allow. That is the mark of a heart that has been with Jesus.

Beware of a repentance that is wrung from the flesh by terror alone. The judgments of God, of themselves, cannot produce that saving change which glorifies Him. Many a soul has been shaken by calamity and has promised amendment, yet the promise withered like the grass. That repentance which is merely the creature of fear, coming up in a night and perishing in a night, never leads to life. It is superficial, skin-deep, and leaves the heart as stony as before. The repentance which is unto life is a gift of the exalted Christ, worked in the heart by the Holy Spirit through the inexplicable sense of blood-bought pardon. Law and terrors, by themselves, only harden; but a sight of the Crucified One dissolves the stony heart. Pray, then, not only for her sorrow, but that she may see Jesus as publicly portrayed before her eyes as crucified. It is that vision which creates evangelical contrition, a loathing of sin because He is so lovely, a grief that wounds the Savior, and a turning from all that is evil because the heart is now made tender by redeeming love.

Remember Manasseh. If ever a wretch seemed beyond the reach of mercy, it was he. A degenerate shoot of a noble vine, he filled the city with bloodshed and set up abominations in the very Temple. Yet when he was in affliction, he humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers, and the Lord heard his supplication. What mighty grace was at work in that heart which had been the palace of Satan! No sin is too monstrous for the cleansing fountain that was opened at Calvary. The prodigal son did not travel quickly home, but his father saw him while he was yet a great way off and ran to meet him. The eyes of mercy are quicker than the eyes of repentance. Even now, before a single tear of genuine sorrow may have fallen from her eyes, the Heavenly Father may be ready with the kisses of full forgiveness.

But this work is the Lordโ€™s alone. Repentance is not a condition that the sinner must perform in his own strength before he dares to come to Christ. That is legal nonsense. It is a grace freely given in the hand of the Mediator. You are not to pull it up out of a dry well, but to ask Christ to work it by His Spirit through the belief of the truth. Preach the truth to her, not with nagging words, but by your own living epistle, by a quiet and gentle spirit, and by the fervent supplication of a broken heart. Fasting and prayer have indeed lent wings to the petitions of the saints in every age. Keep on asking, keep on seeking, keep on knocking. The Lord desires not the death of the wicked; He would have all to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Cast your own soul afresh upon the finished work of Christ. The forgiveness you have tasted for yourself is the very ground of your hope for her. Let love abound in all knowledge and discernment, that you may choose the highest good, yet always with the resignation of Gethsemane: โ€œNevertheless, not as I will, but as Thou wilt.โ€ It may be that the Lord intends to make this painful trial a means of humbling you, deepening your own walk with Him, and teaching you to fear the Lord all the day long. A divided heart is not broken; but a broken heart is never divided. Present your own contrite spirit before God, and then look with tender pity towards the wandering one. The door of the Fatherโ€™s House is open, His heart is waiting to welcome the sinner home.

Whatever we ask of Him in accordance with His will, we receive, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight. Go on praying, go on believing, and leave the issue in those almighty hands that took the nails. The love of Christ passes knowledge; it can melt the most stubborn rebellion when He manifests it. Wait on the Lord, be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart.

The prayer you have offered, thick with the words of Scripture, is like a handful of incense cast upon the coals of the altar. It ascends. It is heard. Yet I would have you understand this: the darkness in which that soul sits is not a night that took her by surprise while she walked; she sits in it, as one who has no hope to rise, for she cannot even stand. Do you see? The prophet said they sat in darkness and the shadow of death, an image of utter helplessness. But take heart: the light did not come because they first ran toward it. It sprang up of itself, shone forth from God above, exactly when the condition of men was at its worst. So do not measure the hardness of her heart against the power of the Light. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has never overcome it.

You ask that her eyes be opened, that she be renewed. Good. But know the difference: the laver of regeneration makes men entirely new, and that is a grace. When one made new grows old again through sin, repentance does not bring back that first brightness, it restores strength, but the former spotlessness is not recovered perfectly in this life. Therefore, groan for her true repentance, but do not expect that she will return as though she had never departed. The wound can be healed, yet a scar often remains. Still, God can give a heart of flesh and write His law within, and that is no small thing.

Now, you speak of reproof and wonder how to act. I say to you, be light. And what does light do? It reproves by exposing what is hidden in darkness. When a candle is set, the thief cannot enter. So if your life is manifest, your own mouth full of wisdom, your heart full of Scripture, your hands full of good works, the darkness around you will be laid bare. That is not judging as the Lord forbade, which concerns petty faults and hypocritical censoriousness. This is the honest reproof that heals; for sin, as long as it is concealed, runs like an underground sore and is committed with daring. But when it is brought to light, the sinner can be admonished, repent, and find pardon. Then you have not called the sin light, perish the thought, but you have called the sinner to light, cleared away the darkness from them, and healed the wound. So be not backward to speak truth, but speak it with a life that shines, not with a finger that points in contempt.

And do not be confounded if God's way now seems contrary to the promise. What came of His own Son's entrance into the world? His mother fled, children were massacred, wailing filled the land. Yet that very calamity was the unfolding of salvation. God accomplishes His dispensations by their contraries, giving us a great demonstration of His power. So your fastings, your tears, your unanswered messages, these may be the very soil in which a greater work is taking root. The short word of faith holds all righteousness in a few syllables; do not imagine salvation requires a long circuit of circumstances. If she will confess with her mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in her heart that God raised Him from the dead, she will be saved. And you, her husband, by your holy conduct may preach that word without speech.

Do not neglect fasting and almsgiving, for they truly lend wings to prayer. But fast not only from bread; fast from bitter thoughts, from rehearsing her offences, from despairing of mercy. The one who sat in darkness did not hope to be delivered, yet the light sprang up. God desires not the death of the wicked, and eternal fire was prepared for the devil and his angels, not for an image-bearer. Pray with the holy audacity of Moses, who stood in the breach for a stiff-necked people. Pray with the tears of Jesus over a city that stoned the prophets. And then, having prayed, leave her to the will of Him who alone can remove the heart of stone. "Thy will be done", that is the highest wisdom and the surest peace.

If she is indeed an unbeliever and deserts you, you are not in bondage; God has called you to peace. But I perceive your hope is set on a better thing: that she may be saved, and that this marriage might yet in some measure reflect Christ and the Church. So let your light shine, and do not hide it under any bucket of timidity. The very sight of a life lived in reverence and joy can pierce darkness more deeply than many arguments. Do not grow weary. The Sun of Righteousness rises, and its wings bring healing. Let your mouth be wisdom, your heart knowledge of the holy, and the bosom of your fortitude, like gold, firmer than adamant, will not be riven asunder by this trial. Stand, then, and see the salvation of the Lord, which sometimes comes when all human hope has sat down in the dark.

Your heart aches with a weight that I can only imagine, and yet woven through your words is a desperate, holy longing for something far greater than a restored marriage. You are pleading for a soul to be born again. That is the cry that rises above every other consideration. Genuine salvation is not a slight nod toward God or an improved self-image. As Jesus made clear, no one can see the kingdom of God unless one is born from above (John 3:3). What follows from that new birth is a new heart, a new spirit, and a new direction. Anything short of that remains a self-directed life, grasping for what seems good apart from Godโ€™s Word, and the fruit it bears is always bitter.

The repentance you are praying for is not merely regret over a ruined relationship. True repentance means turning from being oneโ€™s own god, choosing good and evil by personal desire rather than by the light of Godโ€™s truth. The first garden tragedy replays itself when a person seizes that role, and nothing works well when we build our house on that ground. Repentance is a radical U-turn, a laying down of that false crown and a turning toward Jesus Christ as Lord, into a vital, life-changing relationship with Him. That is why a profession of believing in God is not enough. The demons believe and shudder. Salvation comes when the soul, in desperate need, lets go of every excuse and trusts fully in the only provision God has made for sin: the atoning work of His Son.

It is easy to become tangled in the legalities of divorce and remarriage, searching for the clause that permits a clean break. But your deeper instinct, the one that drives you to pray and fast for her salvation, is a far better echo. The call of the gospel is not to aim for the minimum permission but to stretch toward the highest good. Jesus did not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance. He went to the sick, the broken, and the defiant, offering them something they could not earn: a clean slate, a new beginning, a heart of flesh in place of a heart of stone. That is what she needs. That is what every one of us needs.

Do not let the enemy whisper that the situation is beyond hope or that your earlier prayers have been wasted. Our Father is not willing that any should perish. He takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked. He desires all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. Sometimes the Lord, knowing the hardness of our hearts, allows us to reach a place of desperation because only then will we finally look up and see our true Physician. The ruler of the synagogue could not come to Jesus until his precious daughter lay dying. When everything we lean on crumbles, Christ alone stands firm. Keep asking for that desperation of soul to fall upon her. Keep asking that the light of the gospel would pierce the darkness and open eyes that are blind.

And while you pray, guard your own heart. Do not rehearse past failures endlessly or argue with God about how hard it is. He already knows. His command is to trust Him, to walk in obedience, and to let love abound in wisdom and discernment. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and that wisdom leads us not toward self-justification but toward a life centered on God. If He is the center of your existence, then even this pain can be used to draw you closer to Him and to make you a living epistle, known and read by all. Your faithful, compassionate witness may yet be the means God uses to reach her and others in your family.

What we all must grasp is that salvation is by far our greatest need. Better to enter life maimed and humbled than to stride whole into destruction. Keep asking for her salvation with a loose grip, as Christ did in the garden: โ€œYour will be done.โ€ Keep fasting when wisdom leads you, for such discipline lends wings to prayer. And remember that the God who makes a covenant to write His law on hearts has not retired from the business of transformation. A heart of stone can become a heart of flesh. The one who is far off can be brought near. Let that hope sustain you. Let the Word dwell in you richly, and may the Spirit teach you to watch and pray, not as someone who has already decided the outcome, but as someone who has cast himself entirely on the mercy and power of God.
