🙇🏻Turns to God Acts 3:19 Renewal Tit 3:3-8 👁️👁 Opened by 💡 of God's 📖 2 Cor 4:4-6 Repents being own god Gen 3:1-15 New 💝 Ezek 36:26 Jn 3:3-7 T

The sorrow you bear is not like the sorrow of the world that leads to death, but a grief that can work repentance, if you let it drive you to the mercy of God. You mourn for a soul, and such mourning is blessed, for it shares in the grief of Christ over those who would not be gathered. Yet let this pain not drown you in bitterness, but be turned into prayer, tears, and works of mercy. Fasting, as you have embraced, gives wings to prayer indeed, but remember that the true fast is from sin and from demanding your own will over another’s.

You stretch out your hand to one who has torn the marriage bond, that covenant ordained by God. The adulteress has done a dissolving of what Heaven joined, and she has not yet repented. That is a fearful thing, for to lie to the Holy Spirit, as Ananias did, is to court destruction. But you are not called to force return, only to stand as a living epistle, your life a quiet testimony. If she will not read your texts or receive your voice, let your conduct read aloud without words, chaste, patient, merciful, so that if she ever turns, she may remember the fragrance of Christ in you.

Do not seek to be loosed from the bond. The Apostle does not permit you to initiate divorce, even when the other has shattered the bed. You are bound to a wife, and while she yet lives, you are not free to seek another; remain as one who attends upon the Lord without distraction, using this sorrowful leisure for continual prayer and almsgiving. Yet understand that her salvation is not in your power alone. Each must have hope in Christ through her own repentance, after the lovingkindness of God. So continue to beat upon the doors of mercy with groans and with the short word of faith that holds salvation: confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead.

Above all, guard yourself. Let your sorrow be the godly sort that makes you vigilant over your own heart. The nearness of death, the uncertainty of life, should soften all stubbornness, hers and yours. If you would see her heart of stone replaced, you must first offer your own heart daily to the chisel of repentance. The King’s heart is in God’s hand, and hers is no less, but He moves hearts not by compulsion but by the drawing of light. So shine, not by harsh rebuke from afar, but by such a life that she may see and fear and at last turn. Pray without growing weary, for the Lord wills that none perish. If she perishes, it is not because He did not wait for her. And if she rises, it will be not by your hand but by the new birth that comes from above.

You feel the agony of a heart that will not turn. You have prayed, you have fasted, you have reached out, and the silence that returns to you feels like a door that has been bolted from the inside. The longing you express for this soul is not wrong; it mirrors the very desire of God, who wills that none should perish. So let me offer you a gentle but firm word to steady your own soul in this storm.

First, seek the Lord with your whole heart, but understand that you cannot lend your whole heart to another. The change you long to see in your relative cannot be manufactured by your tears or your fasting, no matter how sincere. With man, salvation is impossible. You cannot push or shove hard enough to get someone else through that narrow gate. Jesus said it plainly: what is impossible with us is possible with God. Your role is to be a living epistle, known and read by all, not to be the author of another person's repentance. You must guard against the thought that if you just pray the right way or fast long enough, you can force a change. That is a burden no human frame can bear, and it is an authority that belongs only to the Spirit of God.

What you are witnessing is the tragic pattern of a hardening heart. The Scriptures show us Pharaoh, who hardened his own heart repeatedly, and then a moment came when the Lord made firm what Pharaoh had already chosen. The Hebrew tells us God stiffened that heart, confirming it in its rebellion. This is a terrifying reality. A person can neglect counsel, ignore texts, break vows, and push away those sent to help over and over until their conscience becomes seared. This is not to say hope is lost, but it is to say the danger is real. Do not mistake surface sorrow for true repentance. A person can tear their garments without ever tearing their heart. The problem is not postponed; it will rise again unless there is an inward work of God that writes His law on the mind and places a new spirit within.

The core issue is always the heart. Adultery, whether physical or spiritual, begins in the heart where idols are kept. A person can leave a marriage because their heart is already married to something else: to self, to a fantasy, to the worship of their own desires. The treacherous sister Judah turned, but only faintly, with a divided heart. God sees the division. He sees when words of confession are not matched by a life that turns from darkness to light. Your relative needs more than a change of circumstance; they need a change of heart that only the grace of God can bring. And that grace, which brings salvation, has appeared. Now is the accepted time. Today is the day of salvation. Do not stop praying that the light would penetrate the darkness and that the god of this age would lose his blinding power.

But hear this also for yourself: let your own heart be enlarged, not straightened into a narrow, bitter place. The pain of this rejection can press you into a corner if you let it. You have opened your heart wide; the constriction is on their side. Do not let the hardness of another become a hardness in you. Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, knowing it is God who works in you. He places the desires and the will within your heart as you yield to Him. Let your own heart remain sound, inclined toward His testimonies and not toward coveting an outcome you cannot control. Your own spirit may be willing, but your flesh is weak, and a part of that weakness is wanting to play God over another person’s soul.

So release them to the Lord with open hands. Continue to live as a merciful, honest epistle before them and the little ones watching. Model the love of Christ publicly, not by affirming sin, but by showing the way out of it. The Word you hide in your own heart will keep you from sinning in your response. Trust that God’s heart for the lost is greater than your own, and if He is making their heart firm in rebellion, it is a righteous judgment that we must tremble before, not fully understand. Ask the Lord not to take you out of this painful world, but to keep you from the evil one. And while you wait, keep your eyes fixed on the One Mediator, Jesus Christ, whose own heart was torn so that hearts of stone might truly become hearts of flesh.

We are deeply moved by your heartfelt plea for spiritual renewal, repentance, and restoration in your family. Thank you for trusting us to stand with you in prayer during this painful and challenging season. Your cry for the salvation and transformation of your loved one, rooted in Scripture and poured out with such raw honesty, has not gone unheard. We have lifted your request before the throne of grace, asking the Lord to soften hearts, break chains of deception, and flood every dark place with His glorious light.

If the Lord has already begun to move in response to your prayers—whether through a softened heart, a moment of conviction, or even the smallest glimmer of hope—we would be overjoyed to hear a praise report. Your testimony could be the very encouragement another believer needs to persevere in faith. But if the answer has not yet come, or if the situation feels even more difficult, please know we are still here. We will continue to intercede on your behalf, believing with you for the fulfillment of God’s promises in Ezekiel 36:26, Jeremiah 31:33, and John 3:3-7. The same God who turns hearts of stone into hearts of flesh is at work, even when we cannot see it.

We pray that you would be strengthened in your own walk with the Lord, that His peace would guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus, and that His Word would be a lamp to your feet and a light to your path. May you experience His nearness in this trial, and may His love compel you to keep praying, keep hoping, and keep trusting in His perfect timing.

Let us all remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of darkness. Therefore, we stand firm in the armor of God, wielding the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, and praying at all times in the Spirit with all perseverance. We ask the Lord to protect you, your family, and especially the little ones from stumbling, and to raise up faithful witnesses who will speak truth in love.

If you feel led to share an update or if the burden remains heavy, we invite you to post again. We are committed to walking this journey with you, believing that God is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us. To Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever.

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you always. We pray all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus. Amen.
