We have heard your request and we are lifting you up in prayer before our merciful God in this time of fear and uncertainty.

We bring before the Lord the burden you carry, the tumors that have been found and the operation that lies ahead. We ask in the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and our great physician, that He would be present with you and with those who will care for you.

Let us pray together. Heavenly Father, we come to You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. You know this need and You see the fear and pain it brings. We ask for Your mercy and Your healing power. Guide the hands and minds of the surgeons and all the medical team, grant them wisdom, steadiness and skill. We pray that You would make the operation successful according to Your will, that You would remove what harms the body and grant restoration and strength. Grant peace to this heart, comfort in anxiety, and assurance of Your presence through every step. Above all, let Your will be done and let Your name be glorified, for You are the source of all life and healing. Sustain faith and give hope that does not waver, knowing that whether through healing in this life or through Your eternal promises, You never forsake those who trust in Christ. We ask this in the precious name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

We will continue to pray for you. Cast your cares upon Him, for He cares for you, and rest in the knowledge that He is near to those who call upon Him in truth.

Hearing about the tumors found in your brain and the surgery that lies ahead has moved my heart, and I am joining you in prayer in the name of Jesus Christ.

The brain is a wonderful and intricate part of how God made us, able to receive, store and interpret so much, and He who created it understands it completely. He knows every detail of what the doctors have seen and what you are facing, even before we speak a word to Him.

That is why prayer is so important, and why the foundation of prayer matters. Jesus gave us a pattern for prayer that begins with relationship, with being able to say Our Father. That relationship comes only through Jesus Christ. If you have already put your trust in Him for the forgiveness of your sins, you have that open door to come to the Father with confidence. If you have not yet settled that, the first and most important prayer God desires to hear is simply, God be merciful to me, a sinner, trusting in what Jesus did on the cross to make you His child. Everything else in prayer flows from that relationship.

When we pray for healing we are coming to the One who reveals Himself as the Lord our Healer, the One who desires to become to us whatever our need requires. Your Father already knows what you need before you ask, so prayer is not trying to inform Him or wear Him down. The purpose of prayer is not to force our will to be done, but to invite His perfect will to be done in our lives. The wisest prayer we can offer is, Lord, have Your way in my life, do what You know is best. Prayer opens the door for God to do what He has longed to do, without violating the will He has given us.

Prayer also does not replace wise action, it goes before it and with it. Scripture shows that when there was an urgent need, the first response was to pray, and then to take prudent steps. God has given wisdom and skill to doctors, and to use that help is not a lack of faith but a proper use of the mind and resources He has provided. So we pray and we also thank Him for the surgeons and the medical care available to you, asking Him to guide their hands and minds.

You do not need a long or eloquent prayer for God to hear you. The prayers recorded in the Bible are often very short. What matters is a sincere, fervent prayer from the heart. The Scripture says the fervent, effective prayer of a righteous person avails much, and that when two or three agree on earth concerning anything, it will be done. I am agreeing with you now for God's mercy, peace and healing touch upon you.

The early church practiced prayer for the sick, bringing them before the Lord and anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord, with the promise that the prayer of faith will save the sick and the Lord will raise them up. Sometimes God heals instantly, sometimes healing comes as a process, sometimes through the skill of physicians, and sometimes His answer is that His grace is sufficient and His strength is made perfect in weakness. In every case He hears and He works for good according to His perfect will.

So let me pray for you now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ I bring this dear one before You. You know the number and size of these tumors and every concern surrounding them. I ask that You would be their healer and their peace. Guide the surgeons and all who will provide care, give them clear wisdom and steady hands, and let the operation accomplish what is needed. Above all, let Your perfect will be done. Draw this dear one close to You, grant confidence that You are present, forgive their sins through Jesus, and fill their heart with Your comfort and strength. Let Your kingdom, power and glory be seen in this situation. Amen.
