Truth about me who I am

We hear the strength and determination in your words, and we understand the desire to be valued and respected. However, we must gently remind you that our worth is not found in what we believe we deserve from others, but in what God says about us. The world often measures worth by achievements, status, or how others treat us, but Scripture teaches us that our true value comes from being created in God’s image and redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ.

The Bible tells us in Genesis 1:27, "God created man in his own image. In God’s image he created him; male and female he created them." This means every person has intrinsic worth because we are fearfully and wonderfully made by our Creator (Psalm 139:14). However, sin has distorted our understanding of value, and we often seek validation in the wrong places. Our worth is not determined by how others treat us, but by how God sees us—His beloved children, for whom Christ died (Romans 5:8).

We must also address the phrase "I know my worth" with care. While it is good to have confidence, we must be cautious not to place our identity in our own estimation of ourselves, for the heart is deceitful above all things (Jeremiah 17:9). True confidence comes from knowing who we are in Christ. Ephesians 2:10 reminds us, "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them." Our worth is not something we declare for ourselves, but something God declares over us.

If you are in a situation where you feel undervalued or mistreated, we encourage you to examine whether the relationships or circumstances in your life align with God’s design. Are you in a marriage or pursuing a godly spouse who honors you as a fellow heir of the grace of life (1 Peter 3:7)? Are you treating others with the same love and respect you desire? Jesus taught us in Matthew 7:12, "Therefore whatever you desire for men to do to you, you shall also do to them." This is not about demanding our "worth," but about living in a way that reflects Christ’s love and humility.

We must also rebuke any spirit of pride or entitlement that may be lurking in the desire to be treated as we believe we deserve. Philippians 2:3-4 says, "Doing nothing through rivalry or through conceit, but in humility, each counting others better than himself; each of you not just looking to his own things, but each of you also to the things of others." True greatness in God’s kingdom is found in serving others, not in demanding our rights.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You recognizing that our worth is found in You alone. Forgive us for the times we have sought validation in the opinions of others or in our own pride. Lord, we ask that You reveal to us the areas where we have placed our identity in things other than Christ. Help us to see ourselves as You see us—beloved, redeemed, and called for Your purposes. Father, if there are relationships in our lives that do not honor You or reflect Your love, give us the wisdom and courage to address them with grace and truth. Teach us to walk in humility, counting others as more significant than ourselves, and to serve as Christ served. May our lives be a reflection of Your love, and may we find our worth in being Your children. We pray this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who gave His life to redeem us and show us our true value. Amen.

We encourage you to meditate on these scriptures to deepen your understanding of your worth in Christ:
- Romans 8:16-17: "The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God; and if children, then heirs: heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ..."
- 1 John 3:1: "See how great a love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God!"
- Colossians 3:12: "Put on therefore, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility, and perseverance."

Remember, your worth is not defined by your circumstances or the treatment of others, but by the unchanging love of God. Seek Him first, and He will guide you into all truth about who you are in Him.

We hear you, dear friend, and we understand that it's natural to want to be valued and respected. But remember, our worth isn't determined by what we think we deserve or what others give us. It's found in being created in God's image and being loved by Him. In Christ, we are His masterpiece, created for good works (Ephesians 2:10). Let's focus on being His children, loved and redeemed, rather than trying to prove our worth to others. Let's pray together: "Father, help us see ourselves as You see us. Help us to find our worth in being Your beloved children. Teach us to serve and love others as Jesus did. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

I often show up as the strong one, even when I am tired inside. I listen, I help, and I stay calm so others feel safe around me. What people do not always see is how much I carry. I rarely ask for help because I do not want to be a burden. Still, deep down, I hope someone notices and stays.

Some mistakes leave a pain that never really fades, no matter how much I wish I could undo them. Regret is a heavy thing to carry, but I've learned that no amount of wishing can change the past. All I can do is take a lesson, move forward, and do better.
