True Laborers for Areas Impacted by Earthquakes, Wars: Edification of Church, Widows, Orphans, Matt 16:18, 1 Cor 14:1-3, 1 Tim 1:5, Matt 9:36-38...

We join you in prayer before our Lord Jesus Christ with thanksgiving for the burden He has placed on your heart for the harvest.

We ask the Lord of the harvest, as He taught us in Matthew 9, to raise up true laborers and send them into the fields that are distressed and scattered like sheep without a shepherd, into ###, ###, ###, ###, ###, the ### and every place shaken by earthquake, war, famine and persecution. We pray that He will raise up faithful men and women, filled with His Spirit according to Joel and Acts, to preach the gospel of salvation through Jesus Christ alone, to plant churches, to found works that care for orphans and widows as pure religion requires in James 1, and to teach sound doctrine with the goal of love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith according to 1 Timothy.

We pray for the widows and orphans and all who are vulnerable in these lands. Scripture reminds us that God is the Father of the fatherless and the protector of widows, and that the tears and prayers of the widow have great power before heaven. We ask that the church would stretch out its hands to them with practical help and with the washing of the Word, and that laborers who rule well and give themselves for the flock would be supported and honored so they can give themselves fully to prayer and the ministry of the Word.

We ask for protection from deception in these last days. Guard Your people, young and old, from the lies of the evil one, the father of lies, from evil men and impostors, and from those who have a form of godliness but deny its power. Grant to true believers diligence to study Your Word and to handle it accurately, to be sanctified by Your truth, to be cleansed by the Word of Christ, and to overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony, not loving their lives in this world more than You.

We pray that You will build Your church and that the gates of hell will not prevail against it. Make Your people ready, clothed in the righteous acts of the saints, keeping themselves pure and bold in the gospel. Do not take them out of the world, but keep them from the evil one, deliver them from evil and unbelieving people, and cause Your Word to run swiftly and be glorified as it is proclaimed with boldness.

We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who alone is our hope and our salvation, to whom be glory forever. Amen.

Your prayer reflects the heart of Jesus when He saw the crowds as harassed and helpless like sheep without a shepherd and said the harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few, so pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out workers. That is right to ask, and we join you in asking the Father to raise up and send forth faithful men and women who will go with sincere faith and pure motives to regions torn by war, famine, earthquakes and persecution.

We pray that those who are sent will be true fellow laborers together with Christ and with His church, serving not for show but out of love, and that they will share in the reward of faithful service. May they be taught to live with expectancy of the Lord's return, yet steady in present work, and may the Lord provide for them as He does for all who are sent, while they give themselves to making disciples and planting healthy churches.

We ask that the church in every place be built up as Jesus promised, that the gates of hell will not prevail against the church He builds. That building happens through edification, exhortation and comfort, and through love that comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. This is the goal of sound doctrine. We pray for laborers who teach what is true and live what they teach, who purge out hypocrisy and impurity, because a purified church knows the power of the Holy Spirit, while hypocrisy hinders the witness of the church in the world. We pray also for order in the church, for spiritually mature men to oversee and shepherd faithfully, and for every believer to have ears to hear what the Spirit says.

Your burden for widows and orphans is close to the heart of God, for pure religion before Him is to care for orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself unstained from the world. Scripture gives clear wisdom here. The church is called to honor those who are truly widows, those who are older, without family support, and known for faithful lives given to prayer and supplication night and day. Such women have a vital ministry of prayer for the church, and when the church supports them it gains a valuable asset. At the same time, the Word teaches that families should first care for their own widowed relatives so the church is not burdened and can relieve those who are truly alone. Younger widows are encouraged not to be placed on permanent support but rather to marry, bear children and build godly homes. We pray that in every afflicted area God will provide for widows and orphans in this biblical way, and that He will raise up homes and ministries that care for them with true doctrine and with love as the aim.

We also join you in praying for protection from deception. Jesus warned to take heed that no one deceives you, and the apostles warned of evil men and impostors, of those who have a form of godliness but deny its power and who profess to know God but deny Him by their deeds. The only safeguard is diligent study and accurate handling of the Word of truth, and the continual washing of the Word that cleanses and sanctifies. We pray that believers young and old will be kept from the lies of the devil, who is the father of lies and the ancient serpent, and that they will overcome him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, not clinging to this earthly life as an idol but confident in eternal life and in the hope of resurrection.

We ask that the gospel will go forth purely and boldly, that it will be received and that God's people will be delivered from evil and from unreasonable and wicked men. We pray that the church will make herself ready by the righteous acts of those made holy in Christ, not taken out of the world prematurely but kept from the evil one while bearing witness in it. May the Lord strengthen every true believer to remain faithful, to love one another, and to keep the power of His presence among them, for a church that lacks love loses its witness, but a church that walks in love and truth abides in Him. We ask this in the name of Jesus.

We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and we are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer for true laborers for areas impacted by earthquakes, wars and persecution.

We have continued to lift up your request before the Lord, asking the Lord of the harvest to raise up, disciple and send forth laborers into Ukraine, Russia, Iran, Venezuela, Colombia, the Philippines and other nations impacted by famine, wars, earthquakes and persecution according to Matt 9:36 and Matt 9:38. We have prayed with you for the edification of the church, for widows and orphans according to James 1:27, and for missions, orphanages and schools that teach true doctrine according to 1 Tim 4:16 and whose goal is love from a pure heart, a good conscience and a sincere faith according to 1 Tim 1:5. We have also joined you in praying that the gates of hell will not prevail against the church which Christ builds according to Matt 16:18, that believers young and old will be guarded from deception according to Matt 24:4, and that they will be strengthened to accurately handle the word of truth according to 2 Tim 2:15 and be kept from evil according to Matt 6:13 and John 17:15.

We count it a joy to continue to stand with you for this burden for the harvest and for the purity and protection of the church.
