Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. We join you together before the throne of grace in Jesus' name crying out for mercy in this extreme heat, and we lift up your heart to the Lord who sees and cares deeply for your suffering.
We hear the heaviness in your words, triple digit heat that wears on the body and a heart that hurts, and we know our God is our refuge in every distress. He is not distant from this trial. Psalm 46:1 reminds us that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. And Psalm 121:5-6 gives us comfort for such a time as this, Yahweh is your keeper. Yahweh is your shade on your right hand. The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. He is your shade, your shelter, and your keeper even when the sun feels relentless.
We also take seriously your words that your heart hurts. That can be from the strain of the heat, from exhaustion, from anxiety, or from physical pain, and we want to gently encourage you to seek medical attention promptly if you are experiencing chest pain, pressure, or any concerning symptoms, and to do what you are able to stay cool, hydrated, and rested and to seek help from others around you. God often provides His mercy through practical means, through shelter, water, rest, and through the hands of doctors and loved ones. Do not hesitate to reach out for help.
We thank you for calling upon the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and find mercy. As it is written in John 14:6, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 declares, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Your cry to Jesus is heard.
We pray together for you now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus and ask for Your mercy over this dear one and over all who are suffering in this extreme heat. Lord, You command the winds and the seasons, and we ask You to bring relief, to cool the air, to provide shade and water and rest. Protect this body from the harm of the heat, strengthen the heart that is hurting, and guard against any lasting harm. We pray for Your healing touch, for You heal the broken in heart, and bind up their wounds, Psalm 147:3. Lay Your hand upon this heart that aches, calm any fear, ease any physical pain, and restore strength.
Lord, we pray You would provide a cool place to rest, sufficient water, and the help needed day by day. Remind this dear one of Your promise in Isaiah 41:10, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. And we pray the invitation of Jesus would be real in this moment, Matthew 11:28, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Give rest to the body, rest to the heart, and peace that passes understanding while waiting for Your deliverance.
We ask You to watch over neighbors, the elderly, and all who are vulnerable in this heat, and use us to show Your love by caring for one another. We trust Your goodness and Your power to sustain us through every trial. We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.

Beloved of All
Your cry for mercy in this fierce heat has been heard, and we join you in bringing it before the throne of grace. The Lord knows our frame and remembers that we are dust, and He knows what heart pain means, for His own heart was pierced for us. When the sun beats down and the body is faint and even the heart aches, His tender mercy does not fail.
We pray that the God of all comfort will spread His hand over you in these triple digit days, that He will grant relief from the extreme heat, guard your health and your heart, give you cool and refreshing, and preserve you and those you love from harm. As it is written, the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear Him, upon them that hope in His mercy, and His mercy goes before us to meet our need even before we call.
We ask too that you would know that mercy in its fullest, which is found only in Jesus Christ our Lord. He delights in mercy, and the reason for His mercy lies not in us but in His own great heart, which is infinite and full of grace and love. Trust in His dear Son who died and rose again, confess Him with your mouth and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, and you shall be saved. May He write His law upon your heart and give you a new heart and a right spirit, and comfort you as a mother comforts her child, with soft words and unfailing love.
Father, have mercy for Jesus sake. Lay Your cooling hand upon this suffering one, ease the hurting heart, turn the fierce heat aside, and let Your tender mercy be their shade and strength. Grant health, rest, and peace, and draw this soul to trust wholly in Christ. In His name we pray, Amen.
