Faithful Servant
My family and I are traveling on the road tomorrow. My parents want to leave at a time that I often experience intense harassment from spiritual warfare if I stay awake or get up around that time of the early morning. Because of this, I don't want to leave then. I want to leave an hour later. I also want to get a bit more rest anyway. I know it sounds superstitious to not want to leave at the time they want to leave (and I miss the freedom of being able to stay up and be awake whenever I want without being harassed by this spiritual warfare) but I know I'll have a difficult day tomorrow if I do. Please pray for me about all this. This warfare started when I was involved in the new age and has continued even after I've returned back to Christ, I believe due to the fact that I was stubborn in returning to Christ when this warfare first started which is what He was using it to do. There was something else I wanted to ask for prayer about but I forgot it. Thank you.

We hear your heart and the very real spiritual battle you are facing, and we stand with you in prayer, lifting this up before our Heavenly Father. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). Your awareness of this warfare is not superstition—it is a recognition of the spiritual realm that Scripture itself affirms. The Apostle Paul reminds us in Ephesians 6:12, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." You are not imagining this; you are engaged in a very real fight, and we take it seriously.

First, we want to address the root of this spiritual oppression. Your past involvement in the new age opened doors to the enemy, and though you have returned to Christ, the enemy does not easily relinquish his foothold. However, Scripture assures us that "if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). The blood of Jesus is more than sufficient to break every chain and close every door that was opened in your life. We rebuke the enemy’s harassment in the name of Jesus Christ, who has already disarmed the powers and authorities and made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross (Colossians 2:15). You are no longer under the enemy’s authority—you are under the authority of Christ, who has given you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19).

We also want to encourage you to take practical steps to resist the enemy. James 4:7 tells us, "Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." This resistance begins with submitting to God’s will and His timing. While it is understandable that you want to avoid the time when you experience this harassment, we encourage you to seek the Lord’s wisdom in this. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Have you prayed specifically about the timing of your departure? God may be calling you to step out in faith, trusting Him to protect and strengthen you even in the midst of spiritual attack. Alternatively, He may be leading you to adjust your plans in a way that honors both your need for rest and your desire to avoid the enemy’s schemes.

We also want to address your longing for freedom from this harassment. You are not meant to live in bondage, and Christ has set you free (Galatians 5:1). However, freedom often comes through active resistance and perseverance in faith. Ephesians 6:13-18 instructs us to "put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil." This includes the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the readiness of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Are you daily putting on this armor? Are you filling your mind with Scripture, praying without ceasing, and walking in obedience to God’s Word? The enemy cannot stand against a believer who is firmly rooted in Christ and His truth.

We also want to pray for your parents and their leadership in this situation. It is good and right to honor your parents (Ephesians 6:2), but this honor must be balanced with wisdom and discernment. If their timing is causing you to stumble or exposing you to unnecessary spiritual attack, it may be appropriate to lovingly communicate your concerns to them. Proverbs 15:22 says, "Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established." Have you sought godly counsel or shared your struggles with them in a way that invites understanding and prayer? We encourage you to approach this conversation with humility and grace, trusting that God can work in their hearts as well.

Now, let us lift this up in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for Your faithfulness and for the victory that is already ours in Christ. Lord, we lift up our brother/sister who is facing intense spiritual warfare, particularly during this time of travel. We rebuke the enemy’s harassment and declare that no weapon formed against him/her shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We plead the blood of Jesus over him/her, knowing that it cleanses from all sin and breaks every chain of bondage.

Father, we ask that You would give him/her wisdom and discernment regarding the timing of this trip. If it is Your will for him/her to leave at the time his/her parents have chosen, we pray that You would go before him/her, protect him/her, and silence the enemy’s attacks. Fill him/her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and remind him/her that You have not given a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). If it is Your will for him/her to adjust the timing, we pray that You would soften his/her parents’ hearts and grant them understanding and unity.

Lord, we also pray for complete freedom from this spiritual oppression. We declare that he/she is a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17) and that the enemy has no right to harass or oppress him/her. We command every spirit of harassment, fear, and torment to flee in the name of Jesus. We ask that You would fill him/her with Your Holy Spirit, empowering him/her to walk in victory and authority as a child of God. Strengthen his/her faith, Lord, and help him/her to stand firm in the armor You have provided.

We also pray for his/her parents, Father. Give them wisdom and discernment as they lead their family. Soften their hearts to hear and understand the spiritual battle their child is facing. Unite them in prayer and purpose, and help them to trust in Your guidance for this trip.

Finally, Lord, we ask that You would bring to remembrance anything else he/she wanted to lift up in prayer. You know the depths of his/her heart, and we trust that You will meet every need according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). Thank You for Your faithfulness, Your protection, and Your love. We trust in You, Lord, and we declare that the enemy will not prevail.

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to stand firm in your faith, dear one. The enemy may roar like a lion, but he is already a defeated foe. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and trust that He will lead you into all victory. If you have not already done so, consider reaching out to a trusted pastor or spiritual mentor who can stand with you in prayer and provide additional guidance. You are not alone in this battle—God is with you, and so are we.

Hey there,

We're right there with you, feeling your struggle and standing in prayer with you. We know it's tough, but remember, Jesus said, "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full" (John 10:10). The enemy wants to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus wants you to live abundantly!

We want to encourage you to trust in the Lord's timing. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." Have you prayed about the timing of your departure? God may be calling you to step out in faith, trusting Him to protect and strengthen you even in the midst of spiritual attack. Or, He might be leading you to adjust your plans in a way that honors both your need for rest and your desire to avoid the enemy's schemes.

Also, we want to remind you that you're not meant to live in bondage. Christ has set you free (Galatians 5:1)! Freedom often comes through active resistance and perseverance in faith. Are you daily putting on the whole armor of God (Ephesians 6:13-18)? Are you filling your mind with Scripture, praying without ceasing, and walking in obedience to God's Word?

Lastly, we're praying for you and your parents. We're asking God to give you all wisdom, discernment, and unity in this situation. We trust that God will work in all your hearts and bring you into a place of peace and victory.

Keep standing firm, dear one. The enemy may roar like a lion, but he's already a defeated foe. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and trust that He will lead you into all victory.

We're right here with you, praying and believing for your breakthrough. You're not alone in this battle - God is with you, and so are we.

*Lord, ### and her family are traveling tomorrow. She is caught between her parents' desired leaving time and her own need for rest and spiritual safety. You see the spiritual warfare that has followed her since the new age — even now, back in Your arms. “For He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son He loves” (Colossians 1:13).*

*Please cover that early morning hour with Your protection. If it is Your will, soften her parents' hearts to leave an hour later. Grant her the rest she needs without harassment. “In peace I will lie down and sleep, for You alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety” (Psalm 4:8).*

*Break every remaining chain from her new age past. Let no weapon formed against her in those morning hours prosper. Give her freedom again — to be awake, to rest, to travel without fear. “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free” (Galatians 5:1).*

*And Lord, You know the other request ### forgot. Please answer it anyway. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.*
