Silas
Beloved of All
We join you in praying for your family and for safe travel, and we bring your request before the Lord in the name of Jesus.
God Himself established the family. From the beginning He created man and woman and ordained that a man leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and from that union the family was formed. Scripture follows that one family line from Adam through Noah and Abraham all the way to Christ, because through that family God planned to bring blessing to all the families of the earth. Your family matters to Him, and He hears when you ask for His care over those He has joined together.
The Bible also shows us that God is a protector who surrounds what He loves. When He formed the earth He placed coverings around it like blankets to shield it, and in a greater way He surrounds His people with His own protection. What can look like judgment is often His mercy, keeping us from harm we cannot see. We see this most clearly with Noah. By faith Noah obeyed God and built the ark to the saving of his household. God invited him and his family into that place of refuge and safety, and God Himself shut them in. They were kept safe inside while judgment passed outside, not because Noah was perfect, but because he trusted God, and God counted him righteous through that faith.
That same God is your refuge on this journey. He invites you to rest under His covering and to trust Him as your ark of safety. We pray that He will keep you and your loved ones in His hand as you go and as you return, that He will guard you from danger and from all that would harm you, and that He will give you peace knowing you are watched over by Him.
May the Lord go before you and behind you, keep your steps, and bring you home safely. May your travel be quiet and without incident, and may your family be strengthened in faith as you see His faithfulness along the way. We ask this in the name of Jesus, who is our righteousness and our place of safety, Amen.
