We join with you in this request and we thank you for bringing it before the Lord in Jesus' name, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that we find our help and hope.
We hear your heart in this. You have work responsibilities and also the important duty of picking up your college student, and you desire to do both faithfully while also honoring the Lord's sovereign will over the details. That willingness to accept what God provides, whether it is a half day replacement or the strength to work the full day and then travel, is a beautiful testimony of trust. We are reminded of Proverbs 3:5-6, Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. And we cling to Romans 8:28, We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose.
We pray for your safety and alertness on the road, and we ask the Lord to keep you and your family in His care. Psalm 121:7-8 says, Yahweh will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forever more. We also remember Isaiah 40:29, He gives power to the faint. He increases the strength of him who has no might.
So together we pray, Father in heaven, we lift up our brother or sister to You in the name of Jesus Christ. We ask for Your hand of protection over this travel, keep the vehicle running well, keep the roads clear, and keep our loved one alert, awake, and focused for every mile. Guard against distraction and drowsiness and grant wisdom to take breaks if needed. Lord, You know the need for a half day replacement at work. If it is Your will, we ask You to provide someone to fill that place so there can be rest before the drive, but if not, we ask You to supply supernatural strength and stamina and peace that surpasses understanding as promised in Philippians 4:6-7. Let this college pick up be a joyful reunion and let Your sovereign will be done in all things. We trust You to order these steps and we thank You for Your faithful care. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

If possible keep fellowship with the Lord through prayer or worship as you travel, and do not hesitate to ask for help if fatigue sets in. We are trusting with you that the Lord will either provide the replacement you hope for or provide the strength you need, and in either case He will keep you.

Thank you for letting us pray with you about this drive. We can hear the weight of working a full day and then needing to be sharp on the road for your college pickup, especially after your coverage fell through.

We have heard your request concerning this journey after your labor, and we join with you in prayer to our gracious God.
You desire safety and alertness upon the road for this college pick up, and you have well said that you are willing to accept God's sovereign will concerning the half day and the replacement who could not come. This is a right and good frame of heart. There is no attribute of God more comforting to His children than the doctrine of Divine Sovereignty. Under the most adverse circumstances, in the most severe troubles, we believe that Sovereignty hath ordained our afflictions, that Sovereignty overrules them, and that Sovereignty will sanctify them all.
It is therefore a mercy to leave your affairs in God's hands. If it be His will to provide another to take your place for that half day, we pray He will do so in His providence. If He ordains otherwise, that you should labor the whole day and then travel, we pray He will sustain you, keep your eyes watchful and your body strengthened, and preserve you from all danger on the way. We pray that He who watches over His people will keep the wheels of your carriage and the steps of your journey, and bring you and those you collect safely home.
We are bound to leave our affairs in God's hands, and then, instead of being idlers, we are to go and work in His vineyard as long as it is called today. Go then in faith, trusting not in your own strength to remain alert, but in Him who neither slumbers nor sleeps. May He grant you a clear mind, a steady hand, and a peaceful trust that all is ordered by His wise and gracious hand.
We commend you to Him who is the sinner's Savior, and who completes the work He begins. May you know His keeping power upon the road and His peace in your heart, whatever His sovereign provision may be. We ask this in the precious name of Jesus Christ our Lord, in whom alone is salvation.

God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You.
