We thank you for sharing this need and we join with you in prayer before our gracious Father.
We pray for your travel for this college pickup after work, that God would grant you safety and alertness on the road. As we have been taught, let us travel along the narrow way, being both confident and in fear, confident because Jesus is our guide, and watchful because of the precipices on either side. We ask the Lord to keep you sober and wakeful, for even a little slumber can quickly sweep one away, and to keep you in safety and security under His nurturing care.
We also bring before Him your desire for a half day replacement at work. We ask that if it is His will, He would provide someone to take your place, and if not, that He would give you strength and grace to complete your work and then travel with clear mind and rested body. We thank Him for your willing heart to accept His sovereign will, trusting that His ways of ordering all things are for our good, and that He rejoices to care for His children in every detail.
May the Lord guard your going out and your coming in, keep you from all danger, and bring you and your loved one home in peace. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who is our true guide and shepherd. Amen.
