Disciple of Prayer
Every month I have to travel far for a five minute visit to see a Dr for my medication. I'm old and it's very hard for me to do this every month. Pray that either I find a Dr or PA near me so I don't have to travel sooo far

We hear your struggle and lift you up before the Lord with compassion. The weariness of frequent travel, especially in your later years, is not lost on us, and we know the Father sees your faithfulness in seeking the care you need. We pray that He would open doors for you to find a godly, competent physician or physician’s assistant nearby who can provide the same quality of care without the burden of such long journeys.

The Scriptures remind us in Psalm 34:18-19, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all." Even in this season of physical strain, God is near, and He is able to make a way where there seems to be no way. We also hold fast to Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Let this truth anchor your heart as you wait on the Lord’s provision.

We also recognize the importance of wisdom in managing your health. If there are practical steps you can take, such as asking your current provider for referrals, checking with local clinics, or even exploring telehealth options where appropriate, we encourage you to seek them while trusting God to guide your steps. James 1:5 assures us, "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him."

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our dear brother/sister who is weary from the burden of frequent travel for medical care. Lord, You see their faithfulness and their need, and we ask that You would make a way for them to receive the care they require without such hardship. Father, we pray for a physician or PA to be raised up near them, someone who is not only skilled but also compassionate, someone who will honor You in their practice. We ask that You would open doors that no man can shut and provide favor in their search.

Lord, we also pray for strength and endurance for them in this season. Sustain them physically, emotionally, and spiritually as they wait on Your timing. Remind them that You are their ever-present help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1) and that Your grace is sufficient for them (2 Corinthians 12:9). Give them peace that surpasses understanding as they trust in You.

Father, we rebuke any spirit of discouragement or despair that may be pressing in on them. We declare that hope in You is never in vain, and we speak life and provision over their situation. May they experience Your faithfulness in tangible ways, and may their testimony of Your goodness be a light to others.

We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, the Great Physician, who heals not only our bodies but our hearts and souls. Amen.

Hold fast to the promise in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says Yahweh, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." God is not indifferent to your struggle, and He will not abandon you. Keep seeking Him, and trust that He is working even when you cannot see it. You are not forgotten.

We hear how draining this monthly trip has become for you, traveling so far for such a brief appointment, especially when you’re older and it takes so much out of you. That wears on the body and the spirit, and we’re grateful you let us carry this with you in prayer.

Sometimes the answer begins with a simple, brave question. Next time you see your doctor, you might ask the nurse or office staff directly: “Do you know of anyone nearer to me who prescribes this medication?” Many offices have lists of colleagues in other towns, or they may even offer telehealth follow-ups that don’t require the long drive. If that feels overwhelming, a trusted family member or friend might help you make the calls. But you are not a burden, and asking is not a bother, it’s how God often clears a path.

While we wait, we remember that Jesus sees what’s hard for you. He noticed the widow dropping her two small coins, and He notices the miles you travel just to care for your health. You are not forgotten in that long car ride or bus trip.

Let’s pray together now.

Lord Jesus, You know every weary mile this dear person travels, and You see the toll it takes. Please open a door to a doctor or PA close to home, someone skilled and kind who can manage this medication. Bring the right person across their path, and give clarity and courage if they need to speak up and ask. In the meantime, sustain their body, calm any anxiety, and tenderly remind them they are held by You. We ask this in Your faithful name, Jesus. Amen.

A monthly journey taken in weariness, I know something of those long roads when the body aches and every mile feels heavy. You make that trip not for pleasure but for a few brief moments that secure the medicine you need. It is a small mercy wrapped in a hard necessity. Yet I would have you see that you are not alone on that road. The Lord who counts the hairs of your head knows every turn of the wheel, every jolt, every sigh you breathe along the way.

There is a kind of looking that sees only the rough way, the endless pavement, the ache in your bones. But our Savior taught us to look through things. He saw the cross and, beyond it, the throne. He saw the suffering and, beyond it, the joy set before Him. So you, beloved, may see this hard journey and, beyond it, the gentle hand of your Father who meets you at the end and says, “I am here.” The way may be rough, but it cannot be long. These frail bodies of ours are not forever. Soon enough, we shall dwell where there is no more distance, no more weariness, and the Great Physician will need no monthly visit to keep us whole.

Until then, do not imagine that your cries fall on deaf ears. In Egypt, the people groaned under their burdens, and God heard. He did not chide them for groaning; He bent down to deliver them. He hears every weary step you take. He knows the weight of this monthly trial, and He is able to send relief. Perhaps He will bring a doctor nearer to your door, a small mercy from His hand that will lift this burden. Or perhaps He will strengthen your frame and give you such sweet communion with Himself along the way that the journey becomes, in time, a pilgrimage of grace. I cannot say how He will answer, but I know He will. He is not a Father who forgets His children when they are old and gray. He has promised to carry you, even as He carried Israel of old, with a love that never tires.

So lean hard upon Him. When you set out next month, take Christ for your companion. Speak to Him in the quiet of the journey. Tell Him your aches. He does not mind complaints that end in trust. And watch, watch for the small mercies that line the road, for they are love letters from heaven, even if they come in black-edged envelopes. The Lord is near to the weary, and His tenderness is infinite.

Lord Jesus, You who once walked the dusty roads of Galilee, look down upon this dear one worn with travel. You see the weariness, the long miles, the brief appointment. Provide, we pray, a doctor or a helper close by, that this burden may be removed. But if it please You to let the journey continue for a season, then come alongside and make Yourself known as the companion of the road. Let Your presence be a living medicine for the soul, and let each trip end with the sweet assurance that You are faithful. Keep this aging frame in Your merciful care, and when at last the final appointment comes, bring this soul home to the land where no one travels any longer, for we shall be with You forever. Amen.

On the long road you tread each month, the body wearies and the spirit groans. Yet it is not the miles your feet must pass over that is the true hardship, for the greater journey lies within the will, to bear this burden without murmuring, to keep the bridle on the tongue and the soul turned toward God. There is no need to travel far in the heart; only be earnest and cast off the clamor of complaint, and the distance shrinks. You who live with little, who bear this trial, are already stronger than those who demand ease.

Bring this plea to the Lord with entreaty, as the disciples ought to have done when they saw no provision. He hears the frail, and He may raise up a physician near at hand. But while you wait, let this monthly going be a walk in His name, a chance to receive what He appoints. Do not flag near the close, for the Helper of many, your own help and mine, sees your labor. Ask of Him what lies in His power, and in the meantime, let your soul be the place where all foul desires are cast down dead, and patience triumphs. Travel on, not alone.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
