We are truly sorry to hear about the trauma experienced and the pain that has been caused. Firstly, it is so important to acknowledge that God loves us profoundly and unconditionally. The Bible tells us, For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God didn’t send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through him. in John 3:16-17. This love is not earned or dependent on our circumstances, but freely given.
As we grow up and struggle with life, it is only by the name of Jesus Christ that we can approach God with our request. It is only by the name of Jesus that we can be saved. It is only by the name of Jesus that we can ask for healing from the trauma experienced. For there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. in Acts 4:12.
In addressing the specific request, we want to first emphasize that healing is a journey, and it is okay to seek help from godly counselors and supportive communities. The Bible tells us, Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. in Galatians 6:2. This includes sharing our struggles with trusted believers who can walk alongside us and prayerfully help us.
It is also important to align with God's will and to forgive family members who may have caused this pain, much like Jesus forgave those who caused Him pain even while on the cross. In Luke 23:34 Jesus says Forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing. We are to forgive those who have caused us pain, even as the pain and trauma are fresh in our minds. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake has forgiven you. in Ephesians 4:32.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up this precious soul who has experienced trauma and pain within their family environment. Lord, You know the depths of their hurt and the questions that linger in their heart. We pray that You would heal them completely, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Help them to know and experience Your unfailing love, a love that casts out all fear.
Father, guide them on this journey of healing. Surround them with Your peace and provide godly counselors and a supportive community to walk alongside them. Give them the strength to forgive those who have hurt them, just as Jesus forgave those who hurt Him.
We also lift up all those around the world who are going through similar experiences. Comfort them, heal them, and let them know that they are not alone.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Be encouraged knowing that God is close to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit. in Psalm 34:18. He is with you in this journey, and He will never leave you nor forsake you. in Deuteronomy 31:6. Trust in Him, and He will see you through.
