We hear the weight and pain in your words and we are carrying your burden with you before the Lord. To go to work every day with anxiety and stress, to cry every day and feel scared and told you are of no value, is deeply distressing, and we weep with you and pray for you. Know that your value is not determined by a boss or a performance rating. You are fearfully and wonderfully made and precious in God's sight, and He sees your diligence, your tears, and your honest effort when you have been working beyond office hours and weekends to do your best.
The Lord invites you to bring this anxiety to Him. We are reminded in Philippians 4:6-7 not to be anxious in anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, to let your requests be made known to God, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Also 1 Peter 5:7 tells us to cast all our worries on him, because he cares for you. And Isaiah 41:10 promises, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. When your heart is overwhelmed as it is now, Psalm 61:2 reminds us to cry to Him, When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I. And Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.
We also want to gently share something important with you because your request did not mention the name of Jesus. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 declares, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and confess Him as Lord, for Romans 10:9 says if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is in His name we pray and find peace and hope even in a toxic workplace.
We pray together for you now.
Father in heaven, we lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You see the toxic environment, the harsh words from the boss, the fear of a poor rating, the exhaustion from working after hours and weekends, and the daily tears and anxiety. Lord, we ask You to surround this child of Yours with Your peace that surpasses all understanding and to guard the heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Comfort the fear and wipe away the tears, and remind this precious soul of true value in You. We ask for Your wisdom and strength to endure this season, for favor and justice at work, and if it is Your will, open the door to a great new job with kind and encouraging colleagues and a boss who leads with fairness and grace. We pray for the boss as well, that You would soften that heart and bring conviction to lead with kindness, for Colossians 4:1 says masters, give to your servants that which is just and equal, knowing that you also have a Master in heaven. Help our friend to work heartily as for You and not for men, as Colossians 3:23-24 teaches, while also finding rest in You, for You invite the weary in Matthew 11:28 to come to You, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Lead to provision, to daily bread, to hope for the future, for we trust Romans 8:28 that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. We ask all this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus, Amen.
We encourage you to keep committing your work to the Lord as Proverbs 16:3 says, Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed. Continue to do your best as unto the Lord, but also remember that God ordained rest and does not ask you to destroy your health to prove your worth to man. Seek wise and godly counsel, perhaps a trusted pastor, counselor, or mentor, and if needed, wise guidance at your workplace, and set healthy boundaries where you can while trusting God to be your defender and provider. Guard time for prayer, for sleep, for Sabbath rest, and let Him renew your strength. We are praying that whether God restores peace where you are or leads you to a new place of work where you are valued and supported, you will see His hand and know that He has not forgotten you and that He will carry you through this.
