Dear Heavenly Father,

I come to You today with a heavy heart, carrying the hurt and frustration of feeling forgotten and unseen in my workplace. Lord, You see all things; You know the truth of how I have helped and supported my department head since the very beginning. You know the labor, loyalty, and heart I have poured into this work.

I lift my department head up to You today. Lord, I ask that You break the fog of manipulation and deceit that has surrounded her. Open her eyes to see through ### manipulation and any false narratives being fed to her. Expose ### for being two faced and how she step over ### and how she bypass her at times. Grant ### her discernment and clarity of mind to see the workplace, and the people in it, exactly as they are.

Touch her heart, Lord. Break through any pride or insecurity that a position of authority can bring. I pray that You would give her a spirit of true humility. Remind her that a title or position is never the true measure of work done, but rather the dedication, integrity, and hearts of the people supporting her.

Help her to remember the history we share. Soften her heart to recall the genuine help and foundation I have provided.

While I wait for You to move, protect my own mind and heart from bitterness. Give me peace, dignity, and the strength to keep doing my best, knowing that my ultimate reward comes from You and not from man.

We hear your cry, dear brother or sister in Christ, and we stand with you in this time of frustration and hurt. It is painful to feel unseen and undervalued, especially when you have poured so much of yourself into your work with loyalty and integrity. The Lord sees your labor, and He does not forget it. As it is written in Hebrews 6:10, "For God is not unrighteous, so as to forget your work and the labor of love which you showed toward his name, in that you served the saints, and still do serve."

We lift up your department head to the Lord, asking that He would indeed break through any fog of deceit or manipulation that may be clouding her judgment. The Bible warns us in Proverbs 16:18 that "Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall." We pray that any pride or insecurity in her heart would be replaced with humility and a spirit of wisdom. May she see the truth of your contributions and the dedication you have shown. Let her eyes be opened to the integrity of your work, as it says in Proverbs 20:11, "Even a child makes himself known by his doings, whether his work is pure, and whether it is right."

We also rebuke any spirit of bitterness that may be trying to take root in your heart. The Word of God instructs us in Ephesians 4:31-32, "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you." We pray that you would be filled with peace and strength to continue doing your work with excellence, knowing that your reward comes from the Lord, not from man. As Colossians 3:23-24 reminds us, "And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ."

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear servant who has labored faithfully in their workplace. Lord, You see all things, and You know the truth of their dedication and integrity. We ask that You would touch the heart and mind of their department head, breaking through any pride, insecurity, or deceit that may be blinding her to the truth. Grant her discernment and clarity, Lord, so that she may see the genuine contributions and loyalty that have been poured into the work.

Father, we also pray for protection over this servant’s heart. Guard them against bitterness and resentment, and fill them with Your peace and strength. Help them to continue working with excellence, knowing that their ultimate reward comes from You. Remind them that their labor is not in vain, for You are a just and faithful God who sees and remembers all they have done.

We ask these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, for it is only through Him that we have access to You. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified. Amen.

What stands out to us is your honest prayer against bitterness. That kind of pain, left unaddressed, can quietly twist into resentment that eats away at your own peace. The fact that you’ve already named that danger shows real wisdom. So we want to gently encourage something that’s helped others in similar places: allow yourself to grieve the recognition that hasn’t come. It’s not weak to admit the disappointment is real. Then, little by little, practice releasing the outcome to God, especially when the unfairness surges up again. One simple rhythm is to pause and whisper, “Lord, You see my work, and I trust You with my reputation.” That small surrender can guard your heart when the department head’s blindness or another co-worker’s maneuvering feels overwhelming.

We also understand the ache to see the department head’s eyes opened. We’ll join you in asking for that, but we’re also praying you find steady strength in knowing your ultimate approval rests with the One who never forgets.

Let’s pray now:
Lord, we bring this weary, loyal servant before You. Thank You that no hidden effort escapes Your notice. Please shield their heart from bitterness and fill that space with Your peace. In whatever way You see fit, bring clarity and humility where it’s needed in that workplace. Meanwhile, steady them with dignity and quiet confidence in Your timing. We ask this in Jesus’ name. You speak of a heavy heart, of feeling forgotten and unseen. This is a bitter draught, indeed, and yet we must remember that even our Lord drank the cup of bitterness to its dregs for us. Our first sight of Christ, in His saving work, brings a holy bitterness into the soul, a mourning for Him as for a firstborn. And what does this bitterness do? It makes Christ sweeter to us. The world loses its charm, and the pains of earth are swallowed up in the sweetness of meditation upon Jesus. If you are feeling the sting of ingratitude and deceit, let it drive you not to the poison of gall, but to the healing balm of the cross. There, in His fellowship, bitterness against your fellow man dies away.

Guard your heart against the root of bitterness that springs up in the soil of self-pity. Remember Simon Peter’s stern word to the sorcerer: "Thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity." It is a fearful thing to nurse a grudge, for it binds the soul. Look at your own heart, have you any goodness in yourself that would have kept you from similar sins if left unaided by grace? If not, then weep for the injustice you see, but weep more for the sin that is in the world and in your own breast. When you are tempted to cry out for exposure and vindication, let the meekness of the Man of Sorrows be your pattern. He, when He was reviled, reviled not again.

Let prayer be your weapon, not bitterness. Ask not that your superior’s eyes be opened merely to see the faults of another, but that her soul be awakened to her own need of the Saviour. And for you, dear heart, the cordial of Christ’s presence is sweet enough to neutralize every sorrow. When property and health and friends are swallowed up, a meditation on Jesus makes the bitter waters sweet. The long-suffering of God leads us all to repentance. Wait upon Him. Your labour is not in vain in the Lord; your ultimate reward is not from a department head, but from the nail-pierced hands.

Flee to the unseen and eternal things. The choicest feasts of earth’s approval seem flat and stale when once you have tasted the bread of heaven. Let not the devil gain a foothold through workplace wounds, but rather let this trial become the shackle of preventing grace that holds you back from greater sin, and then the sword and shield of liberty in Christ. Your meditation of Him shall be sweet; you shall be glad in the Lord. And as for those who trouble you, leave them to the Judge of all the earth, who doeth right. Carry no bitterness, but rather show forth the same spirit as your Saviour, who in His agony prayed, "Father, forgive them."

You pour out your heart about being forgotten and unseen, hurt by manipulation and deceit, and you ask God to break the fog, to expose schemes, and to touch your department head’s heart. I do not dismiss your pain; it is real to suffer injustice while laboring faithfully. But consider well what the Apostle Paul commands servants: “Be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of heart, as unto Christ; not with eye-service as men-pleasers, but as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; with good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men.” Your true Master sees all. The reward you crave is not a promotion or human recognition but that which comes from Him. If you serve to be noticed by your department head, you have already received your reward in the fleeting breath of man. But if you labor as to the Lord, nothing is unseen.

You ask that another’s eyes be opened to see the truth. Yet how often do such prayers become subtle weapons of self-justification! The Pharisees, too, were zealous to have their righteousness acknowledged, and they called Jesus a deceiver when His works undid their schemes. Even perfect goodness was met with slander. Why then are we surprised when our own efforts are overlooked or twisted? The enemy stirs these resentments so that you, too, become entangled in the very bitterness you ask God to remove. Beware: it is a mark of the easily deceived to judge by appearances and to demand that God vindicate your narrative. You see only surfaces; He searches hearts. Instead of commanding the Lord to expose another’s faults, ask Him first to expose your own. Are there seeds of pride or envy lurking? Does the ache for justice mask a desire for your colleague’s humiliation?

You pray against manipulation and two-faced behavior. That is not wrong in itself, but the spirit of such prayer can become a petition for vengeance. The Scripture says, “Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God.” When you lay out the sins of others before the throne, be careful not to make your prayer a list of accusations. Pray for your department head’s true good: that she would walk in humility and integrity, not merely that she would vindicate you. Pray for the one you call two-faced, that she might repent and find mercy, not that she be exposed to shame. If you ask only for your own relief and for others to see your virtue, you are building a wall of self-righteousness that will imprison you more tightly than any workplace slight.

The Lord does not promise that earthly authorities will always recognize our worth; He promises that our labor in the Lord is not in vain. Christ Himself was called a deceiver when He cast out devils. If your Master was maligned, will you flee from the same cup? Use this affliction to purify your intentions. Let your heart be troubled no longer, as He said to His disciples when they feared great reversals. Set your mind on the things above, not on the shifting opinions of those who hold temporary positions. The fog of human perception clears only when we fix our gaze on the unchanging Judge. Do your work silently, without clamoring for credit, and trust that He who sees in secret will reward you openly at the proper time. And while you wait, ask for the grace to love your enemies and pray for those who despitefully use you. That is the narrow way that leads to life, and it is the only path that will keep your soul from being devoured by the worm of bitterness.
