Tongue Jam 1:20 Goal of Discipline Heb 12:11 What and How to Speak Jn 12:49 Grace to Fast Isa 58:6-14 Gracious, Comforting Words Zech 1:13

Beloved
šŸ™‡šŸ» Father, thank You for giving mercy and grace in times of need, Heb 4:16, past and now in present. We continue in confession and repentance, for sanctification both a one-time act and an ongoing work of participation with the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit, Matt 3:8, Phil 2:12-13, 1 Tim 4:16, so we agree with Your admonition through Hosea, "Take words with you, and turn to the LORD: say unto him, 'Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips as bulls" Hos 14:2.

šŸ“ Lord, I've missed Your warnings, not hearkened to Your Spirit's leading, haven't taken the way of escape in every occurrence. I've dealt with things unrighteously, sinned and fallen short of Your glorious image, Rom 3:23, Gen 1:27, Matt 5:48, Eph 5:1. I've lacked love, have gotten "in the flesh," have said and typed things in with a mixture of emotions, even in anger, that even while true have either lacked love or forgotten the foundation of equality for the sake of Christ, Eph 5:21, maybe both or all of the following: I have done things mixed with pride and empty conceit, and in times of pain have said, spoken, typed, forwarded and done things to further my own interests or unrighteous emotions, rather than considering the interests of others, and lacked the attitude of Christ's humility that prefers my neighbor's advantage, and forgotten to treat others as more important than myself, Phil 2:3-5. Such actions and attitudes that display such mixture tainted with the anger of man do not achieve the righteousness of God, James 1:19-20. Therefore, not using my bodily members as instruments of righteousness consistently, I've been a man of unclean lips, Isa 6:5.

Since our transgressions are multiplied before you, and our sins testify against us; for our transgressions are with us, and as for our iniquities, we know them, transgressing and denying Yahweh, and turning away from following our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood, Isa 59:12-13, at time, "Surely I have spoken of things I did not understand, things too wonderful for me to know, therefore I despise my sins, and I repent from them in dust and ashes," Job 42:3, Job 42:6. Yet though You've disciplined me severely, You haven't given me over to death, Ps 118:18. I can say with the Psalmist, "It was good for me to be afflicted that I might learn the way of Your Commands," Ps 119:71. Let me make the most of Your discipline, knowing it's end result has many ends in mind, sanctification being a chief one, Even Jesus being the author, ἀρχηγὸν, ultimate architect, pioneer and engineer of our salvation, perfected through suffering, Heb 2:10, on earth and in flesh, the proving ground of obedience, becoming the ultimate fountain of salvation, Heb 5:8-9. Surely, there is One found Worthy, Rev 5:9.

Though beyond human capacity to bear at present transfers all hope to You alone, 2 Cor 1:8-9, produces patience leading to patience that we may also be complete, James 1:2-3, and though not pleasant at present, afterward yields not only perseverance, proven character and an abiding hope that does not disappoint, even granting assurance through The Holy Spirit of Adoption, Rom 5:3-5, but also a harvest of peaceful fruit and righteousness, Heb 12:11, even an everlasting quietness and confidence, Isa 32:17, an everlasting crown of life, James 1:12, and ability to reign with You, as You overcame and reign in truth, humility and justice, Ps 45:4, Rev 3:19-21. We ask for grace to renew our minds, Rom 12:2, to rejoice in all these things knowing we are presently blessed and understanding their end is eternal reward, Matt 5:10-12, and that Your Intention is to work it all together for good, Rom 8:28, because You are indeed Gracious and Compassionate, Ex 34:4-5, as we see You were with Job, James 1:12. Let us pray for others and others pray for us knowing You have brought us through trials before, You will do so again, and that prayers are powerful and effective, 2 Cor 1:10-11, especially when we confess our struggles and sins to one another and pray for each other, Your promise is the prayers are powerful and effective, James 5:15-16, even as Elijah's, James 5:17-18... Continued below while abiding in Jesus Christ and His Words, John 15:1-8, and His Life Giving Words of The Holy Spirit, John 6:63, His Name being the only Name given under heaven by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12, He being the One God and Mediator between God and Man, 1 Tim 2:5, in The Power of Attorney given by us His Position and Command, Mt 18:18, we ask in Jesus' Name, John 14:13-14.

We come before You, Father, with hearts heavy yet hopeful, for we know that Your discipline is not without purpose, and Your correction is always wrapped in love. The words shared here reveal a deep awareness of sin, a longing for sanctification, and a desire to walk in righteousness. We stand in agreement with this confession, for we too have fallen short, acted in the flesh, and spoken words that did not reflect the love and humility of Christ. Yet, we rejoice in the truth that "if we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). Your mercy is new every morning, and Your grace is sufficient for every weakness (Lamentations 3:22-23, 2 Corinthians 12:9).

We acknowledge that the tongue is a restless evil, full of deadly poison (James 3:8), and how often we have used it to speak words mixed with anger, pride, or selfish ambition rather than the grace and truth of Christ. The scripture warns us, "Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for building up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear" (Ephesians 4:29). Father, we repent for the times we have spoken or typed words that tore down rather than built up, that reflected our flesh rather than Your Spirit. We ask for the wisdom to speak only what You command, as Jesus did, for He said, "For I spoke not from myself, but the Father who sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak" (John 12:49). Let our words be seasoned with salt, full of grace, and always pointing others to You (Colossians 4:6).

We also recognize the importance of discipline in our lives, for "all discipline seems for the present to be not joyous but grievous; yet afterward it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been exercised thereby" (Hebrews 12:11). Your discipline is a sign of Your love, for You chasten those You receive as sons (Hebrews 12:6). We thank You for not leaving us in our sin but calling us to repentance, for "the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and chastises every son whom he receives" (Hebrews 12:6). Help us to embrace Your correction, knowing that it produces perseverance, character, and hope (Romans 5:3-4). Let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we will reap if we do not give up (Galatians 6:9).

Father, we also lift up the need for grace to fast and seek You wholeheartedly, as Isaiah 58:6-14 describes. True fasting is not merely an outward act but a heart posture of humility, justice, and compassion. Break every yoke of sin in our lives, loose the bonds of wickedness, and let us be repairers of the breach, restorers of paths to dwell in (Isaiah 58:6, 12). May our fasting be pleasing to You, and may we find our delight in You alone.

We are grateful for Your gracious and comforting words, as Zechariah 1:13 promises: "Yahweh answered the angel who talked with me with kind and comforting words." Even in our discipline, You speak comfort to our souls. You are the God who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3). Let us be vessels of Your comfort to others, speaking words of life and encouragement, for "a word aptly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver" (Proverbs 25:11).

We pray for a renewal of our minds, that we may be transformed by the renewing of our thoughts, so that we may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God (Romans 12:2). Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising its shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God (Hebrews 12:2). May we run with perseverance the race marked out for us, laying aside every weight and the sin that so easily entangles (Hebrews 12:1).

Father, we ask for the grace to walk in humility, considering others as more important than ourselves, and looking to the interests of others (Philippians 2:3-4). Let us have the same mindset as Christ Jesus, who, though He was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant (Philippians 2:5-7). May our lives reflect His humility, love, and obedience.

We also pray for the strength to resist temptation and to take the way of escape You provide in every situation (1 Corinthians 10:13). Help us to flee from sin and to pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, and gentleness (1 Timothy 6:11). Let us be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger, for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God (James 1:19-20).

Father, we thank You for the assurance that You work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). Even in our trials and discipline, You are shaping us into the image of Your Son. We rejoice in the hope of the glory of God, knowing that suffering produces perseverance, character, and hope (Romans 5:2-4). Let us not lose heart but press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:14).

We pray for one another, that we may confess our sins to each other and pray for each other so that we may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective (James 5:16). Let us bear one another’s burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ (Galatians 6:2). May we encourage one another daily, as long as it is called "today," so that none of us may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness (Hebrews 3:13).

Finally, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, the only name given under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). There is no other mediator between God and man but the man Christ Jesus (1 Timothy 2:5). We thank You for the gift of Your Son, who is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). Through Him, we have access to You, and in His name, we pray, believing that whatever we ask in His name, You will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son (John 14:13-14).

Lord, we surrender our tongues, our hearts, and our lives to You. Cleanse us from all unrighteousness, and fill us with Your Holy Spirit so that we may speak words of life, grace, and truth. May our lives reflect Your love, and may we bring glory to Your name in all we do. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

It’s so heavy to read how much you’ve opened your heart here. We’ve all been there, saying things in the heat of the moment that we instantly regret, letting pride or frustration steer our words instead of love. It’s hard to admit when we’ve failed, especially when our words have hurt instead of healed.

But we know God doesn’t leave us in that place. His discipline isn’t punishment, it’s love in action, shaping us into people who reflect Him more clearly. Those moments of conviction? They’re proof He’s still working in us.

Let’s ask Him to soften our hearts and guard our tongues, to help us speak life even when emotions run high. And when we stumble again (and we will), we can run back to Him, because His grace is always bigger than our mess-ups.

Father, thank You that You meet us in our brokenness with mercy. Cleanse us, teach us, and fill us with Your Spirit so our words build up instead of tear down. Heal our lips and our hearts. In Jesus’ name, we pray.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
