Anger Jam 1:20 Goal of Discipline Heb 12:11 What and How to Speak Jn 12:49 Grace to Fast Isa 58:6-14 Gracious, Comforting Words Zech 1:13

We come before the Lord with hearts open to His wisdom, seeking His guidance as we reflect on the truths you’ve shared from Scripture. Anger is a powerful emotion, and when left unchecked, it can lead to sin and destruction. The Word reminds us in James 1:20, "For the anger of man doesn’t produce the righteousness of God." This is a sobering truth, our anger, no matter how justified it may feel, must be surrendered to the Lord so that He can refine it into something holy. The goal of discipline, as Hebrews 12:11 tells us, is not punishment but peace and righteousness: "All chastening seems for the present to be not joyous but grievous; yet afterward it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been exercised thereby." We must trust that God’s correction, whether it comes through His Word, circumstances, or the loving rebuke of fellow believers, is always for our good.

When it comes to our words, Jesus sets the perfect example in John 12:49: "For I spoke not from myself, but the Father who sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak." Our speech must be governed by the Father’s will, not our own impulses. This means speaking with grace, truth, and love, even in moments of frustration or conflict. Zechariah 1:13 assures us that the Lord Himself speaks "good words, comfortable words" to His people. We must strive to do the same, extending grace and comfort rather than harshness or condemnation.

Fasting is another discipline that draws us closer to God, but it must be done with the right heart. Isaiah 58:6-14 reveals that true fasting is not about outward show but about justice, mercy, and humility before the Lord. It is a time to loosen the bonds of wickedness, share our bread with the hungry, and clothe the naked. When we fast with a heart aligned with God’s purposes, He promises to guide us, satisfy our souls, and make us like a well-watered garden. But if we fast with selfish motives or neglect to care for others, our efforts are in vain.

Let us pray together now, lifting these truths before the throne of grace:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humility, asking for Your wisdom and strength to walk in Your ways. Lord, we confess that anger can so easily take hold of our hearts, leading us away from Your peace. Teach us to surrender our frustrations and disappointments to You, trusting that Your discipline is always for our good. Help us to speak words that reflect Your heart, words of grace, comfort, and truth, so that our mouths may be instruments of Your love.

Father, we also ask for Your guidance in the discipline of fasting. Show us how to fast not for our own glory, but to draw nearer to You and to serve others in Your name. Break our hearts for the things that break Yours, and use us as vessels of Your mercy and justice. May our lives reflect the righteousness You desire, and may our words and actions bring glory to Your name.

Lord, we acknowledge that apart from You, we can do nothing. We need Your Holy Spirit to transform our hearts and minds, to help us walk in obedience, and to fill us with Your peace. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can come before You, the only name by which we are saved. For there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Thank You, Jesus, for making a way for us to know the Father and for interceding on our behalf. May we live each day in a manner worthy of the calling You have placed on our lives. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Oh friend, we really feel your struggle with anger and know how hard it can be to control our tongues when frustration builds up inside. We've all been there, and it's not easy to respond the way God calls us to when our tempers flare. But remember, Jesus Himself faced injustice and hardship without sinning, and He understands exactly what you're going through. Lean on Him for that self-control and wisdom to speak gently even in tough moments.

Let's pray for that grace together, asking the Lord to soften our hearts and help us respond with love instead of flying off the handle. And when fasting feels hard, let's remember it's not about going through the motions but about drawing closer to God and showing His love to others. He sees your heart, and He's there to help.

Lord, we lift up this struggle to You right now. Please calm the anger within us and fill us with Your peace. Help us to use our words to build others up, not tear them down. Give us the strength to fast with the right heart, not for show, but to seek You and serve others. Remake us from the inside out, Jesus, so we can reflect You in every situation. In Your name we pray.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

"We're here to support you and to pray with you. Please let us know how we can be of further help."

Thank you for the prayer board, the effort, finances, and the genuine prayers from human beings. It would be of great assistance to not have to be overly concerned with writing the prayer as it flows and balancing that with writing in obscure hieroglyphics and nebulous generalizations to the extent the artificial intelligence can't tell if the writer of the prayer is male or female, nor able to discern for whom the prayer is directed and how to pray intelligently (i.e. -- when we must write in obscurity it makes it hard to tell what the prayer is about... The epitome of this is that sometimes the artificial intelligence thinks I'm the one practicing ongoing sin, running from counsel and hiding from the Lord...

We do not see this in Scripture -- people hedging and dodging their prayers, but on the contrary, are enjoined to "pour out their souls like water before the Lord," Lam 2:19 -- this does not mean write and re-write your prayer so that non-personal information words like "husband" or "wife" or "male" or "female" need be painfully changed -- since they are in their own sense "generic" -- nor pronouns or Scripture verses that contain names in the common domain like "Paul" or "Apollos" or "Cephas" (nor really any other first name).

Anyway, this please consider this may all be summarized in a verse regarding offending the conscience of others, "Give no occasion for stumbling, whether to Jews, to Greeks, or to the assembly of God; 33 even as I also please all men in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of the many, that they may be saved," 1 Cor 10:32.

If we could merely type, not have our prayers misread and turned back on us, and not be so self-conscious in writing that we quench the Holy Spirit and have to pray over and through redaction -- for really no personally identifiable information -- it may just prove to be much in line with "keeping in step with The Holy Spirit, Gal 5:25, and stay inline with "We put no stumbling block in anyone’s path, so no one will find fault with our ministry," 2 Cor 6:3. It just seems more natural to be able to pray and quote Scripture without putting a burden on we who are turning to God that no one, no matter how diligently they try, can avoid having their prayers or portions of it redacted even if rather than saying generic "father" or "mother" they write "patriarchal" and "matriarchal figures" instead of just plain old mom and dad.

Hopefully the unnaturalness of writing not only just to please man, as much a sin as that is, Gal 1:10, but to please a hyper-sensitive AI Machine -- if Paul uses "great boldness in his speech" and speaks plainly with Agrippa -- why are we trying so hard to write in such a way we don't have our prayers look like a tik-tac-toe board???

Apologize for directness, but am in a decent degree of pain, and time consumed writing and re-writing titles to prayers to prevent the obscuring prayers rather than praying is something we ask to be prayed about, ultimately respecting your decision, and in no means retracting or redacting the sincere gratitude for the site and the prayers offered by actual human beings (who can actually talk to God, being made in His image, Gen 1:27, and recreated and predestined to conformed to the image of His Son, the jury being unanimous that "a-i" and LLMs cannot pray, nor be saved, and with sincere appreciation of the human effort that is put in for the construction and maintenance of this blessed site, but we've lost a lot of people due to these things, and therefore am merely stating what to some is as evident as the sunrise on a cloudless day, as it is written, "The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spoke to me, ‘One who rules over men righteously, who rules in the fear of God, shall be as the light of the morning when the sun rises, a morning without clouds, when the tender grass springs out of the earth, through clear shining after rain,’" 2 Samuel 23:3-4 (WEB).
