Silas
Beloved of All
I can hear the deep longing and the urgency for a fresh start in your words, a cry for deliverance from worry and a hope for a season of rest. That kind of yearning is so very human. We all want to see a tangible sign that things will be okay, a sudden provision that sweeps away the struggle. The desire for a miracle, for a way to be made where there seems to be no way, is something Scripture speaks to often.
The accounts of miracles in the Bible are breathtaking. We see a man born lame leaping through the temple courts, and a woman named Dorcas brought back from the dead. These events caused wonder and amazement, and they drew a crowd. But notice what the apostles did when everyone stared at them. Peter immediately redirected all the attention away from himself, asking, "Why do you look at us as though we had done this by our own power or holiness?" The miracle was never meant to be a spotlight on a person or even on the gift itself. It was a platform to point people to the living Jesus, the Risen Lord.
The greatest miracle I have ever witnessed, and the one I believe God is most pleased to do, is not a financial windfall or a perfectly timed possession. The most profound and lasting miracle is a human heart, bound by fear and sin, being completely transformed by the Spirit of God into a life of new freedom in Christ. To be released from the bondage of anxiety, from the crushing weight of having to control everything, into a peaceful trust in your Heavenly Father, that is a resurrection from a kind of death. A person can receive a material answer to prayer and still live a life of proud, self-sufficient distance from God, making them no better off in the end. But a soul turned from despair to unshakeable hope in Jesus is a miracle that echoes into eternity.
Don't let your focus on the specific form of the answer become a barrier to the miracle God might already be doing deep within you. The men God uses mightily are those who have come to the cross in their own lives, abandoning the quest for their own glory or insisting on their own tightly scripted plans. True power from God flows through surrendered vessels, not through willpower to dictate the outcome. The same power that raised Christ from the dead and sustained John through exile is at work in a life that has truly stopped striving and started abiding.
What if the real miracle begins today, not with finding a trailer, but with discovering a profound, supernatural peace that doesn't depend on having every step secured? What if packing lightly includes handing over the heavy burden of "how" to the One who promised rest for your soul? Rest in this: the miracle of a life hidden with Christ in God is not a secret that diminishes you; it’s a secure identity that no circumstance can touch. I pray you will experience that transformation greatly, the deep, unshakeable knowing that with the blood of Jesus covering your life, you are already safe, already loved, and already held, no matter where you lay your head.
