Silas
Beloved of All
You are crying out for a miracle, and I hear in your words a deep desire for peace: a home that works, a vehicle that runs, a place by the sea, and the joy of keeping your beloved cats with you without anxiety. What reaches heaven is not just a list of needs, but a heart that believes Jesus is able. That faith is precious. Scripture tells us that the chastisement of our peace was upon Him and with His stripes we are healed. That word "healed" reaches into every broken place, and the peace He gives is not merely spiritual; it wraps around your whole life, your circumstances, your home, your provision.
You are asking for things that feel impossible, much like leprosy was incurable in the natural. Yet God, even in the law, made provision for a miracle, a way for Him to work when He desired. He left room for Himself to act. So never let anyone tell you that He only heals the soul and has no care for your practical needs. The same Jesus who rebuked the storm and brought instant calm still speaks "Peace, be still" over the chaos that threatens to sink us. He cares about the broken air conditioner, the need for a truck that runs greatly, a clean place for you and your two cats. Cast that care on Him, for when Jesus is on board, there is no storm that can ultimately swallow you.
But see the order in Scripture: grace always comes before peace. You can never truly know the peace of God until you have rested in the grace of God. The deepest miracle is not just receiving things, but receiving Him, coming into that day of cleansing where He washes away all sin and worry, and you understand that He has already secured the ultimate deliverance. From that place of rest, the striving ceases. He wants you to put your relationship with Him first, as the fountain. When your priority is simply trusting Him, He pledges to take care of the rest, to take care of the seconds and the thirds. There is a widow in Zarephath who only had a handful of flour, yet God saw her and sustained her. He sees you.
So hold your peace. Do not let your heart be troubled by the "how" or the timetables. The Lord knows your needs. You are not going to drown in these troubles. Like David learning to commit his situation to God and not avenge his own cause, we hear you laying this before the throne with the blood of Jesus. That is the only place to lay it. Let God take care of it. Let Him work. Give Him the room to provide in a way that brings glory to Himself and order to your life. A life lived after the Spirit brings tranquility, not the anxiety of a raging sea.
Bring your request with thanksgiving. The God who healed the springs at Jericho and made the waters sweet can certainly provide a working fifth wheel, a reliable truck, and a place of contentment. May the shalom of God guard your home, your cats, and every part of your life as you rest in His finished work.
