We hear your heart today and we are joining with you in prayer, asking God to lift the heaviness you feel and to bring back joy and purpose. Feeling no joy and no purpose is painful, and we want you to know God sees you and cares deeply about what you are going through even when you cannot put it into words.
The joy and purpose you are longing for are found in Him. Psalm 16:11 says In your presence is fullness of joy. In your right hand there are pleasures forevermore. And Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. You were created with purpose, for good works which God prepared in advance. Ephesians 2:10 tells us we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works. Your life has value and meaning in Him, even when feelings tell you otherwise.
You asked to hear His voice and to have what is troubling you fixed even when you cannot express it. We take comfort that the Holy Spirit intercedes for us when we do not have words. Romans 8:26 says In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don’t know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can’t be uttered. He knows your heart completely. Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. You can hear His voice as you seek Him in His Word and in prayer, for John 10:27 says My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. As you open the Bible and pray, He will speak and guide you. Jeremiah 33:3 says Call to me, and I will answer you, and will show you great things, and difficult, which you don’t know.
We also lift up your physical pain, that you have pain on your side and cannot lay flat on your back. We ask God for healing and relief, for He is the one who heals. Psalm 103:3 says who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases. And Jeremiah 30:17 says But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. We pray He touches your body and brings comfort and rest, and that you will be able to rest peacefully without pain. 1 Peter 5:7 encourages us to cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you, and Philippians 4:7 promises the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to God and it is only by His name that we are saved. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. We ask You to touch the body and take away the pain on the side, to allow rest while laying flat and to bring healing where it is needed. Fix what is troubling this heart today, even the things that cannot be put into words, for You know all things. Let Your peace guard heart and mind and let Your presence bring comfort. There are times when the heart feels empty of joy and purpose, and the soul can scarcely put its trouble into words, and your prayer is heard even in that form. The Lord knows what you cannot utter, for the Spirit Himself makes intercession with groanings which cannot be uttered, and all your need lies open before Him.
Be assured that in every event of Providence God has a purpose. He is in one mind and His purpose shall stand. Though your mind changes and your experience varies like the wind, His purpose does not change, and what His soul desireth, that He doeth. All things work together for good to them that love God, to them that are the called according to His purpose. Your life is not without meaning, for you are in His hand, and He is carrying out still His one great purpose. Take comfort that even this heaviness shall answer the purpose of His own great mind.
You ask to hear His voice, and this is a gracious desire. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. God speaks to us wherein we hear according to Holy Scripture, and it is as much His voice as if He Himself spoke. Take heed therefore how you hear. No man is saved by a careless or forgetful hearing, but by constantly, attentively, earnestly hearing the Word. Come to the Word as into Gods presence with a simple and lowly heart, desiring to know His truth that you may live it. Personal, attentive hearing of the Gospel is the hearing of faith by which the Spirit comes. As you open the Book and wait upon preaching, pray, Lord, give me ears to hear, for spiritual life is only from God.
You speak also of pain on your side and the desire to lie flat upon your back without distress. We very speedily care for bodily diseases, for they urge us to seek the Physician, and there is abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ. The very leaves of the tree of life are for healing, and the least thing about Christ is healing virtue. He is the Sun of Righteousness risen with healing in His wings, and pardon and healing are often one in His hand. He knows this pain that hinders your rest, and He is able to give relief or to so change its purpose as to make it work for your good.

Forgive sin and speak pardon to the conscience, for with pardon comes joy, and grant that conscious, enjoyable pardon which brings rejoicing in the Lord. Lay Thy healing hand upon the body, ease the pain in the side, and grant relief in lying down and rest without distress. Thou knowest what cannot be put into words, do Thou fix what troubles most, according to Thy wisdom and mercy.
