We join you in lifting this request before the Lord, trusting in His perfect will and timing for your life. The Bible reminds us in Jeremiah 29:11, *"For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares Yahweh, ‘plans for peace, and not for evil, to give you hope and a future."* Your faith in God’s ability is well-placed, for He is the one who opens doors no man can shut and shuts doors no man can open (Revelation 3:7-8). We pray that if these positions align with His purpose for you, He will grant you favor with the employers and confirm your steps.
However, we must also remind you that success is not measured by the world’s standards but by God’s will. Proverbs 16:3 tells us, *"Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed."* Seek first His kingdom and righteousness, and all these things—including provision—will be added to you (Matthew 6:33). If these jobs are His will, He will make it clear. If not, He has something even better prepared for you.
We also notice that your prayer did not explicitly invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to the Father. Jesus Himself said in John 14:13-14, *"Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it."* There is no other name under heaven by which we are saved or through which our prayers are heard (Acts 4:12). We encourage you to always pray in the name of Jesus, for He is our mediator and the source of our confidence before God.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who seeks Your favor in their job search. Lord, You know their heart, their needs, and the desires You have placed within them. We ask that You go before them and make their path straight. If these social work positions are part of Your plan, we pray You would grant them favor in the eyes of the employers. Give them wisdom, confidence, and peace as they wait on Your timing.
But Father, above all, we pray Your will be done—not theirs, but Yours. If there is a different path You have prepared, open their eyes to see it and their heart to receive it. Remind them that You are their Provider, and You will never leave them nor forsake them (Deuteronomy 31:8). Strengthen their faith and help them to trust in You completely, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28).
We rebuke any fear, doubt, or anxiety that may try to take root in their heart. Replace it with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:6-7). May they walk in the assurance that You are in control and that Your plans for them are good.
We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
As you wait, continue to seek the Lord in prayer and in His Word. Trust that He is working behind the scenes, even when you don’t see it. And remember, whether the answer is "yes" or "wait," or even "no," His grace is sufficient, and His love for you never changes. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and He will guide your steps.
