Your words have been heard, and thank you for sharing so honestly about how exhausted and worn down you feel. To carry the weight of physical and emotional abuse, to have your health depleted, to feel without close family or trustworthy people around you, and to feel that life has only grown harder is an immense burden. It makes sense that positive slogans feel empty and that you would question whether God has forgotten you or is even working against you.
God is not destroying you, even though it can feel that way when pain has gone on so long. Scripture shows us that God especially looks to the one who is broken and trembling at His word, not to cast away but to draw near. Jesus said, Blessed are the poor in spirit, and the prophet said that God will not despise a contrite and humble heart. That means your very brokenness, your awareness that you have nothing left in yourself, is not a place where God turns away. It is a place where He sees you and is near. He knows what it is to be oppressed and mistreated, and He does not take lightly what oppressors do.
You mentioned oppressors and abusers, and that even family has been like bullies. God is long suffering and patient, but that patience is not approval of abuse. Those who abuse that patience and harm others will face His judgment. At the same time His patience toward you is for your good, to keep you, to heal you, and to bring you through. Faith often has to go beyond what our human reasoning can see, as when Israel stood before the Red Sea with no way forward and yet God made a way. That does not mean you must pretend things are fine. It means you can bring your fear, your exhaustion, and even your doubts to Him in prayer and ask Him to carry what you cannot carry.
You also said you do not think you are going to make it and that you feel you cannot overcome. Please hear that you do not have to face these thoughts alone, and you do not need to try to overcome in your own strength. God calls us to walk with all lowliness and meekness and long suffering, but that lowliness is first before Him, a quiet trust that He is faithful when people have been unfaithful, not a call to remain in harm or to accept abuse as normal. If you are unsafe or feel you may act on thoughts of not wanting to go on, please reach out right away to someone you can trust, a pastor, a counselor, a doctor, or a trusted friend or family member, and if you need immediate support you can call or text 988 in the United States or search for a local crisis helpline in your area. Caring for your health, both physical and emotional, is important, and seeking help is a wise and right step.
I want to pray for you now.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ who alone is our salvation, look upon this weary heart. You see the wounds from abuse, the exhaustion of the body, the loneliness and the distrust that has grown from being hurt so often. Have mercy and show that You are trustworthy and near to the brokenhearted. Lift this burden, bring healing to health, provide safe and faithful people to walk alongside, and give daily strength to take the next step. Help in weakness to trust Your goodness, to keep a pure hope in You, and to know that You will not despise a contrite heart. Guard from all harm and lead into Your peace that passes understanding. Amen.
You are not forgotten. Please continue to reach out, both to God in honest prayer and to safe people who can support you in person. If you have a local church or pastor, let someone there know how deeply you are struggling so they can walk with you more closely in the days ahead.
