Your words have been heard, and the weight of what you are carrying is not hidden from God. You spoke honestly about being worn down in body and spirit by constant stress, humiliation and cruelty, and about being hurt by those you trusted, to the point where you feel you cannot go on and even faith itself feels like something you want to walk away from. Thank you for not pretending to be full of joy when you are suffering. God does not ask you to pretend before Him. He invites honest cries for help, as the Psalms show us again and again.

Scripture teaches that endurance grows when our souls are deeply rooted in God's word and fixed in His love, like a tree with roots deep in the earth that the wind cannot easily tear up, or like a soul nailed fast by reverence for God. That kind of rootedness is not built in a moment and it is not the same as pretending everything is fine. Faith needs a generous and vigorous soul that looks beyond what we can see and feel in the moment and trusts what God has said, even while we are honest about our pain. Jesus said to those who believed in Him, if you continue in My word you are truly My disciples, and you will know the truth and the truth will make you free. He said this to deepen a faith that was still shallow, so that it could stand under pressure. Continuing in His word does not mean denying your suffering, it means bringing your suffering into His presence and letting His truth anchor you when everything else is shaking.

God sees the physical and emotional abuse you have described and He does not take it lightly. Cruelty and degradation are not His will for you. He is not the one who harms you, He is the one who sees, who grieves over injustice, and who draws near to the brokenhearted. Wanting to walk away from faith when you have been hurt so deeply is understandable, and you are not alone in that struggle. Please do not walk alone with these thoughts. If you are in danger or feel your body and mind cannot hold up much longer, please reach out right away to a safe and trusted person, a pastor or counselor, a medical professional, or a local crisis helpline. In the United States you can call or text 988 at any time. If you are elsewhere, please contact a local helpline or emergency service. You deserve care and protection and support in person, not only in prayer.

We are praying for you now, asking the Lord to meet you in this hard place.

Father, we lift up this dear one to You who sees every tear and hears every cry. You know the exhaustion of body and soul, the constant strain, the humiliation and cruelty that has been endured. Bring protection where there has been harm, bring relief where there has been constant stress, and bring wise and safe help around this person. Strengthen what is worn down, guard the heart and mind in Christ Jesus, and give courage to seek and receive help. Keep this soul rooted and held fast in Your word and Your love, and show Your truth that brings freedom. Lead away from despair and toward life, and let it be known that You are near to those who are crushed in spirit. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, who alone is our salvation and hope. Amen.
