Tired and need a holiday

Anonymous

Beloved of All
I haven't been to the seaside for seven years, nor have I had a holiday for two years. I miss the sea and travelling a little. Please pray in Jesus name that God provides me with an opportunity to rest somewhere else (near the sea or in the mountains). You can also pray for inner rest if you wish, but if you really want to pray with me, then pray for travel.Thank you!

We hear your weariness and longing for rest, and we join with you in lifting this before the Lord in the mighty name of Jesus. The Scripture tells us in Matthew 11:28, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest." You are not forgotten in your fatigue, God sees your need and desires to refresh your spirit, both inwardly and outwardly.

We pray that the Lord would open a door for you to experience the rest you crave, whether by the sea or in the quiet beauty of the mountains. Psalm 23:2-3 reminds us, "He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul." Father, we ask that You would lead this dear one to a place of restoration, where the burdens of daily life can be laid down and the soul can be renewed. Provide the means, the time, and the opportunity for this much-needed break, and let it be a time of joy and peace.

We also pray for inner rest, for the peace that surpasses all understanding to guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). May you find comfort in His presence, even now, as you wait for this opportunity to travel. Let your trust in Him deepen, knowing that He cares for you and will not withhold good things from those who walk uprightly (Psalm 84:11).

If there are financial or logistical barriers standing in the way, we ask the Lord to remove them in ways only He can. Let His provision be evident, and let your heart be filled with gratitude as you see His hand at work. And if this longing for travel is tied to a deeper need for purpose or connection, we pray that God would meet you there as well, drawing you closer to Himself and to His plans for your life.

We rebuke any spirit of discouragement or hopelessness that may be whispering lies about this desire going unfulfilled. The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that you may have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We declare that this season of waiting is not in vain, and that God is working even now to bring about His good purposes for you.

In Jesus’ name, we stand on His promises and believe that He will answer this prayer according to His will. May you soon find yourself in a place of rest, where the waves or the mountains can testify to the goodness of the Lord. Until then, may His peace be your constant companion. Amen.

We hear you, that deep weariness and the ache for the sea after so long without a real break. It’s not a small thing. When the days blur into one another without the refreshment of a change in scenery, it can wear on the soul. God made us to need rest, and the desire to step away to the water or the mountains is a good and human one.

We’re asking with you that God would open a door for travel, that He would provide the time, resources, and opportunity for you to be somewhere that brings peace. Sometimes the very act of beginning to plan, even in a small way, can shift something inside us. If you’re able, maybe look at a few places that stir your heart, even if just online, and ask God to make a way. At the same time, we’re praying that in the waiting, He would meet you with moments of quiet and restoration right where you are.

We know that kind of longing can feel like an ache, but we’re trusting that our Father, who notices even the sparrow, sees your need. We bring it to Him now.

Jesus, thank You that You care about our weariness and our simple longings. We lift up this tired heart to You and ask for a true season of rest, that You would provide a way to step away, to the sea or the mountains, and to be renewed. Please open a door, arrange the details, and bring refreshment to body and spirit. In the meantime, sustain Your child with Your own peace. In Your name, Amen.

Thank you Heavenly Father for blessing us with another day, and for all you do for all of us. All glory and honor belongs to you Father. I lift this prayer up on your glory Father God and ask that you grant your perfect will. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.”

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭17‬:‭7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Weariness of body and soul speaks plainly through your words, and you do well to bring this longing before the throne of grace. Yet I would have you see that the deepest rest is not found in any place, however fair its waves or grand its mountains. “I will give you rest,” saith the Saviour, rest now, rest perfect, rest in Him. Have you truly come unto Him? Then the rest He gives is yours already, an abiding portion that no weariness of limb can steal away. It is rest on the wing, rest in motion, not the sluggishness of the idle, but the sweet repose of a soul whose burden has been rolled upon the Lord.

You miss the sea. It is a natural and proper longing, for “the sea is His, and He made it,” and He made you with eyes to see its splendour and a heart to delight in its vastness. I have no quarrel with the desire to stand where the waves roar and the spray lifts the soul to adoration. God meant us to go to sea, how else shall we have dominion over the works of His hands? And the mountains, too, speak of His strength and our weakness, calling us to look to Him who cometh over the steepest crags of difficulty like a young hart. He can part the dividing hills and make a path for your feet to the places of refreshment.

But here is the test: can you rest in Him even if no journey comes? The sea and the mountains are but signs, whispers of the glorious rest that remaineth for the people of God. “Rest in the Lord,” and let Him be your fixed anchor amid the restless tides of life. Trust His wisdom, for you cannot see your way, but He can. If He grants you the holiday you crave, receive it as a token of His kindness; if He withholds it, know that He Himself is your exceeding great reward, and His presence makes a paradise of the dreariest chamber.

I do indeed pray with you, for travel, since you ask it, and for the inward rest which alone makes any outward scene a blessing. May He who calmed the stormy sea speak peace to your spirit, and may He open a door for you to go forth in safety and return with your strength renewed. But oh, rest most in this: “This is my rest forever: here will I dwell; for I have desired it.” He hath desired you for His resting-place; make your heart His home, and whether at land or sea, you shall find that His rest is glorious, and that in His service is perfect freedom and unshaken repose.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You speak of weariness and a longing for the sea and the mountains, yet I would remind you of a far better rest, one that can be yours even now if your heart is fixed on Christ. For the soul’s deep fatigue is not healed by a change of place but by the still waters and green pastures where the Good Shepherd leads. Do you not see how those who rush after worldly pleasures, though surrounded by fountains of mirth, are yet pierced by countless bitter darts? The crowd at the theaters and the restless traveler alike find no lasting peace.

You ask me to pray for travel, but I must pray for what your soul truly needs. There remains a rest for the people of God, and to enter it we must not harden our hearts as Israel did in the wilderness, craving earthly comforts and missing the promise. The narrow road leads to life, and though it may feel constraining to deny the flesh its cravings, that very straitness leads to an eternal rest where sorrow and sighing flee away.

So I will lift you before the Lord, not that He might open a path to the seaside, but that He might grant you the far more excellent gift: a heart so aflame with charity and hope in the kingdom that no earthly weariness can overpower it. Let us labor together to enter that rest, lest we fall after the same pattern of unbelief. If you are willing, cease seeking refreshment in a journey of the body, and instead covet earnestly the rest that surpasses all understanding. For there, truly, He makes us lie down in safety, and there alone is satiety for the soul.

Every longing for open skies, salt air, or mountain quiet speaks to something God Himself placed within us. He fashioned the sea and the hills, and He knows the weariness of a heart that has not seen them for years. It is right to bring that simple, honest desire before Him. A body and soul stretched thin cry out for the renewal He designed. I will pray with you that the Lord opens a door for travel, for days spent beside the waves or among the peaks, because He delights in giving good gifts to His children.

Yet even as we ask for that journey, there is a deeper rest reaching out to you right where you are. True rest is not finally a place on a map but a Person. Jesus calls, “Come to me, and I will give you rest.” His yoke is easy and His burden is light, because He has already finished the work that secures our peace with God. Striving to prove ourselves, carrying guilt, or wrestling with circumstances out of our control leaves us exhausted in ways no holiday can cure. But the moment we cease from our own labors and simply believe that His righteousness covers us completely, we enter a rest that remains steady whether we are at home or by the sea.

So we hold both together. We ask boldly for the physical renewal, for the provision to travel and the joy of watching a different horizon. And we lean fully into the spiritual rest that comes by faith. The promise still stands: there remains a rest for the people of God. Let that promise quiet your heart tonight. When you close your eyes, you can rest in His finished work, entrusting every need into His hands.

Lord, you see this weariness and this longing. You remember the frame of your child and know the refreshment that creation can bring to a tired soul. Make a way where there seems to be no way. Provide the resources, the time, and the clear opportunity to travel and to rest beside the sea or in the mountains. In the waiting, and in the going, teach a deeper trust. Quiet the inner turmoil with the truth that Christ has done it all. We rest on you. In Jesus’ name.
