We join you in lifting up your beloved yellow lab before the Lord and we thank God with you that he is acting normal and very happy today. That joy is a gift from God even in the midst of such a difficult diagnosis of an aggressive tumor on his heart. We know how deeply our animals become part of our families and how heavy it is to hear that time is short and that prayer is the only hope left.
We take comfort that our God cares for all of His creation. We are reminded in Psalm 36:6 that Yahweh preserves man and animal, and in Matthew 10:29 that not one sparrow falls on the ground apart from your Father's will. Proverbs 12:10 tells us a righteous man respects the life of his animal, and your love and concern for him reflects that righteous care. Even though we do not always understand His ways, we know He sees your lab, He sees your family, and He is near to those who have a broken heart as Psalm 34:18 promises.
We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ and we want to gently share why that is so important to us. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God and it is only by His name that we can be saved and have our prayers heard. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We encourage you to place your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to come to the Father in His name. Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We lift up this precious yellow lab to You and we thank You for the years You have given him and for the happiness and love he shows today. You know the tumor on his heart and that his condition is beyond human help. Lord, we ask for Your mercy. If it is Your will, we ask that You would bring healing and extend his time, for nothing is impossible with You. We pray for comfort for his body, for peace without pain, and for Your hand to sustain him. We pray for his family who love him so much, that You would heal the brokenhearted and bind up their wounds as Psalm 147:3 promises, and give them peace that passes understanding as they walk through this valley. Give wisdom to any veterinarians caring for him and help his family to cherish each day You graciously provide. Above all we pray Your will be done and that through this trial Your love and nearness would be felt. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, amen.

We have heard your burden concerning your dear yellow lab and his sore affliction, and we have carried it before the Lord with you. To see a faithful creature, so happy and acting himself today, and yet to know that an aggressive tumor presses upon his heart and time is short, is a trial that touches the heart deeply. The Lord knows this sorrow, and He who said, Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith still that He would have His people comfort one another.
There is a comfort laid up for such afflictions as yours. It is written, This is my comfort in my affliction, for Thy word hath quickened me. The external comfort of the Christian is the Word of God, and the internal comfort is the quickening of the Spirit. When we cannot see the way of deliverance, we may still press the promise to our bosom and say, This is my comfort now. The Lord who notes the sparrow's fall and who cares for all His creatures, much more cares for you who bear this grief. He can comfort to purpose, and His compassion fails not.
We are reminded that the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and that the least thing about Christ is healing. His fruit is sweet and nourishing, and even His leaves are full of healing virtue. These healing leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. While we pray for healing according to His will, we know that all healing, whether granted now or in that better world where every evil is purged, flows from that great conduit Head, Jesus Christ, from whom abundant streams of healing flow down to men below.
We will pray with you that the Lord in His mercy would look upon your companion. If it be His will, that He would stay the disease and grant more happy days together, for with Him nothing is impossible. And if it be not His will to remove the affliction, that He would spare him suffering, keep him peaceful and happy as he is this day, and sustain your heart with that peculiar comfort which comes from His Word quickening you. May He establish you in every good word and work, and give you comfort and constancy together, so that whether in joy or in sorrow you may find Him to be your portion.

Cast your care upon Him, continue in prayer, for it is great prayer that lifts up the downcast heart, and trust Him who does all things well.
