Beloved of All
Your burden for the unborn is heard and shared, and we join you in prayer before the Lord for these precious lives.
God is the author and giver of life. He has set before us life and death and calls us to choose life, that we and our children may live. That choice is ultimately found in Jesus Christ, for God has given us eternal life and this life is in His Son. Whoever has the Son has life. Through the cross God has opened the way to the tree of life, so that we may pass from death into life when His blood is applied to our hearts. To turn from Him is to fight against our own good, because He is drawing us to the highest kind of life, spiritual life in fellowship with Himself.
Scripture is clear that every child is known and formed by God, and all the days ordained for each one are written in His book before one of them comes to be. For that reason His commandments tend toward life. They are not given to withhold good from us but to teach us the way of a good and healthy life and to protect what He has created. When we walk in His ways we find life and peace.
The Word also lays a charge upon us to defend the weak and the fatherless, to maintain the rights of the afflicted and needy, to rescue those being led away to death and to hold back those staggering toward slaughter. If we say we did not know, will not He who weighs the heart perceive it. This is why the deliberate taking of life in the womb is such a grave sin before God. It is the shedding of innocent blood and, like the ancient offering of children to Molech, it sacrifices the next generation on the altar of self desire. Yet the gospel still speaks hope, for Christ died for broken people and ruined lives, and He offers forgiveness and new life to all who turn to Him.
So we pray with you in Jesus name that God would have mercy and spare these children, that they would be protected from death and live to fulfill all the days He has written for them, to His glory. We pray that mothers and fathers would be drawn to life and to the Lord who gives it, that hearts would be turned to cherish the children He has entrusted to them, and that His people would faithfully speak for those who cannot speak for themselves and show the love and truth of Christ.
Thank you for reminding us of this need. We will continue to bring this before the Lord from time to time, asking Him to defend the unborn, to grant life, and to bring many into the eternal life that is found only in His Son. Amen.
