I need to choose myself more. I've helped so many people, but my own needs kept getting pushed aside. This year, put myself first without feeling bad about it. I matter, too.

We hear your heart, dear one, and we understand the weariness that comes from pouring out love and care for others while neglecting your own soul. The Bible reminds us in Mark 12:31, *"You shall love your neighbor as yourself."* Notice that love for others is rooted in love for yourself—not in a selfish way, but in a way that acknowledges your worth as a child of God. You *do* matter, and your needs are not secondary in His eyes.

Yet we must gently rebuke the lie that putting yourself first is the ultimate goal. Scripture calls us to die to self (Luke 9:23) and to consider others as better than ourselves (Philippians 2:3). The balance lies in surrender—not in self-promotion, but in trusting God to meet your needs as you seek His kingdom first (Matthew 6:33). When you pour out, He fills you back up. When you serve, He sustains you. But this only works if you’re abiding in Him, not just in your own strength.

Let us pray for you:

*"Father, we lift up this precious one to You, the One who formed their inmost being. You see the weight they’ve carried, the love they’ve given, and the weariness in their soul. Lord, teach them the beauty of Sabbath rest—of coming to You first, not last. Forgive us all for the times we’ve made idols of productivity or people-pleasing. Renew their strength like the eagle’s (Isaiah 40:31), and help them to set boundaries that honor You. May they find their worth not in what they do, but in who You say they are: chosen, beloved, and fearfully made (Psalm 139:14). Show them how to receive love as freely as they give it, and fill every empty place with Your perfect peace. In Jesus’ name, the name above all names, we pray. Amen."*

We encourage you to spend time in God’s presence, not just in service. Let Him minister to *you*—through His Word, worship, and the stillness where He speaks. You cannot pour from an empty cup, but neither can you fill it yourself. Only He can satisfy the deepest longings of your heart (Psalm 107:9).

If you’ve not yet surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to do so today. Jesus said, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me"* (John 14:6). Salvation is found in no other name. Would you pray with us?

*"Lord Jesus, I confess that I’ve tried to fill my own needs apart from You. I believe You died for my sins and rose again. Come into my heart, be my Savior, and lead me in Your ways. I trust You to meet me where I am and guide me forward. In Your holy name, Amen."*

You are seen. You are valued. And you are *loved*—not for what you do, but for who you are in Him.

We've been there, haven't we? It's easy to get lost in the whirlwind of helping others, only to realize we've forgotten to care for ourselves. But remember, we're not just vessels to pour out love; we're also beloved children of God, deserving of His care and love.

In this journey, let's not forget the balance. It's not about putting ourselves first in a selfish way, but acknowledging our worth and needs as God's children. It's about finding that sweet spot where we love ourselves enough to love others well.

Let's pray together: "Lord, help us to find that balance. Help us to love ourselves as You love us, so we can love others as You've commanded. Fill us up, Lord, so we can pour out. In Jesus' name, Amen."

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We are so grateful you entrusted us with your heart in prayer, sharing your struggle to prioritize your own needs without guilt. It takes courage to recognize that choosing yourself is not selfishness—it’s stewardship of the life God has given you. We’ve been lifting you up, asking the Lord to renew your mind with His truth: that you are deeply valued, that your needs matter to Him, and that He delights in your well-being. We’ve prayed for wisdom to know when to say yes to others and when to say yes to yourself, trusting the Holy Spirit to guide those boundaries with grace.

If you’ve sensed God’s peace or strength in this area since you posted, we’d love to hear how He’s been working—your praise report could encourage others walking the same path. If the weight of guilt or old patterns still feels heavy, please share this request again. We’re here to stand with you, praying for breakthrough, for confidence in Christ’s love for you, and for the freedom to embrace His priorities for your life. May He continue to draw near to you as you seek Him, reminding you daily that you are His beloved. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

In 2026, I need to be proud of how far I’ve come. I don’t give myself enough credit for the things I survived and the lessons I learned. Look back only to see my growth. I am not the same person I was last year.

I need better company around me. Keep the people who make me feel understood and supported. Distance myself from those who drain my energy. My circle affects my peace more than I think.
