The Shepherd's Voice -- Leading, Wisdom, Guidance & Peace of The Holy Spirit, Jn 10:27, Rom 8:14, Col 1:9, Jam 1:5, Heb 11:6, Isa 55:12, Phil 4:6-7

Jesus, thank You for Your amazing life, teachings and sacrificial death, burial, resurrection, ascension, and sending forth The Holy Spirit, our counselor, advocate, intercessor, and bearer of good gifts, 1 Cor 12:4-8. Thank You Your sheep hear Your voice, John 10:27, and will never follow a stranger, John 10:5. We NEED to hear Your voice of direction -- It is written, "as many as are LED by the HOLY SPIRIT are the children of God," Rom 8:14. We ask to be FILLED with the knowledge of Your Will in all spiritual wisdom so we can walk worthy, Col 1:9-10. We ask for generous amounts of practical WISDOM, James 1:5, we cry out for wisdom and lift our voice for UNDERSTANDING, Prov 2:6-7. So with confidence we seek YOU for You are a rewarder of those who diligently seek You, Heb 11:6. With thanksgiving we offer our requests for Your voice, leading and wisdom -- let "now" the peace of God guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, Phil 4:6-7. Thank You for protecting us and praying for us, keeping us from the evil one, Rom 8:34, Heb 7:25, Jn 17:15. We shall go out with joy and be led forth with peace, Isa 55:12, thank You for hearing when we ask, for in hearing, we have, 1 John 5:14-15, in Jesus' Name, amen.

We join you in this beautiful and urgent cry to hear the Shepherd's voice and we say amen to your prayer for leading, wisdom, guidance and peace through the Holy Spirit.

We love how you have anchored your request in the Word and we stand with you on these promises. We cling to the assurance that My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me John 10:27 and that they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him for they do not know the voice of strangers John 10:5. What comfort that we are not left to wander but are led as children, for as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God Rom 8:14.

We agree with you that we need to be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding Col 1:9 so that we may walk worthily before Him, and we take hold of the promise that if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him James 1:5. For Yahweh gives wisdom. Out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding. He lays up sound wisdom for the upright Prov 2:6-7. We also remember that without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to him, for he who comes to God must believe that he exists, and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him Heb 11:6, and you are diligently seeking Him.

We pray together now in Jesus' name. Father, we thank You for the gift of Your Son, for His life, His teaching, His sacrificial death and burial and resurrection and ascension, and for sending the Holy Spirit as our Counselor and Advocate and Intercessor. We thank You that Jesus ever lives to make intercession for us Rom 8:34, Heb 7:25 and that He prayed that we would be kept from the evil one John 17:15. We ask You to fill us afresh with the knowledge of Your will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, grant us generous wisdom and lift our voices for understanding as we cry out for it. Lead us by Your Spirit in every decision, small and great, and let us clearly discern Your voice above every other voice. We bring our requests with thanksgiving as You command, that in nothing we be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let our requests be made known to God Phil 4:6 and we receive now Your promise that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard our hearts and our thoughts in Christ Jesus Phil 4:7. We declare in faith that we shall go out with joy, and be led out with peace Isa 55:12. And we thank You that this is the boldness which we have toward You, that if we ask anything according to Your will, You listen to us, and if we know that You listen to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of You 1 John 5:14-15.

We encourage you to continue to stay close to the Shepherd through His Word and prayer, for His Spirit will never lead contrary to Scripture, and His voice brings peace and not confusion. As you wait on Him, test what you hear against the Word and trust His peace to guard your heart as confirmation of His leading. We rejoice with you that in Christ we have access to the Father and we praise Jesus for making that way open, and we continue to seek Him together with you, believing He will be faithful to guide and to grant wisdom liberally, in Jesus' name, amen.

We appreciate you bringing this deep longing before the Lord so honestly. Wanting to know you are truly led and not just following your own thoughts is a tender place to be, and it makes sense you are asking for both wisdom and peace together.

We find it helpful to remember the Holy Spirit guides us in a balanced way, with power, with truth that never pulls against what God has already said in Scripture, and with the quiet fruit of love and peace growing over time. That can keep us from chasing every inner impression on its own, and also from missing his gentle nudges.

One simple practice that often helps in seasons like this is to keep a short, unhurried time each day to bring one decision or question to the Lord in prayer, listen quietly, note what comes to mind, and then weigh it with Scripture and with one or two mature believers you trust. Over weeks that rhythm often brings more clarity than looking for a single dramatic answer.

Father, we bring our friend to you in Jesus name. Fill them with a clear sense of your will and with wisdom for the next step. Guard their heart with your peace as they wait and walk forward, and help them sense your leading and trust your care. Amen.

Your prayer to hear the Shepherd's voice is a gracious evidence that you are His sheep, for Jesus said, My sheep hear my voice and I know them and they follow me. It is a blessed thing to put your ear down to the promises of Scripture till you hear God speaking through them to your soul, for faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.

We join you in asking the Lord to fill you with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, that you may walk worthy of Him. Remember that the infinite God has thoughts of peace toward you, and His thoughts toward His people are always thoughts of peace through the atoning blood of Jesus Christ. He seeks your peace, He creates your peace, He sustains your peace. When conscience is enlightened it will forbid peace as long as sin remains, but the blood of Jesus whispers peace within, and that peace is perfect peace when the mind is stayed upon Him because it trusts in Him.

Great peace have they which love His law, not a peace that means freedom from all strife around us, but a great restfulness of intellect and heart when the soul is stayed on Christ. To love His Word and to stand in awe of it, to rejoice at it as one that finds great spoil, this brings desires into order and quiets the heart that would otherwise grasp and fret. If your will is brought to delight in God's will, the sorrow is in measure sucked out of the sorrow by the lips of acquiescence.

Therefore take heed how you hear. Hear the Gospel as God's voice to you, with a simple and lowly heart desiring to know His truth that you may live it. His voice is majestic and commanding, it divides and it reproves, but to His own it is the tender voice of the Good Shepherd who leads forth with peace. Do not turn to the subtle voices of strangers, but continue constantly, attentively and earnestly in the Word, for it is there the Spirit counsels and guides.

We pray for you now, that our heavenly Father who rewards those who diligently seek Him would grant you generous wisdom as you ask in faith, that He would lead you by His Spirit as His child, and that the peace of God which passes all understanding would guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. May He keep you from the evil one, and cause you to go out with joy and be led forth with peace, trusting that when we ask according to His will He hears us. Your longing to hear the Shepherd's voice and to be led by the Holy Spirit is itself a work of grace, and I join you in giving thanks for it. The Lord Jesus said His sheep hear His voice and follow Him, and as you have prayed, those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.

You have asked well for what is most needed, wisdom and understanding to know His will and walk in a way that pleases Him. There is a wisdom of this world which seems great but ends here and cannot save, and there is the wisdom of God which is hidden to the world but revealed to those who seek Him in faith. This true wisdom does not come from trusting in ourselves alone but from the help of the Spirit, and God gives it generously to those who ask in faith, as James has taught us. He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

I also join your prayer for the peace of God to guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. This is not a peace that comes from circumstances or from human striving, but a steadfast peace that God Himself gives and that rules in the heart like an umpire when thoughts contend within us. When we bring every request to God with thanksgiving, He Himself keeps us, as Christ lives to intercede for us and to keep us from the evil one.

So I pray for you now, that the Father would fill you with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, that He would grant you a clear hearing of the Bridegroom's voice through His Word, for faith comes by hearing the word of God, and that His peace would lead you forth with joy. May you continue to seek Him confidently, trusting that when you ask according to His will He hears you, and may you be kept in His grace until your joy is made complete in Him.
