We join you in this beautiful and scriptural hunger to hear the Shepherd's voice and to walk in the leading, wisdom, guidance and peace of the Holy Spirit, and we count it a joy to agree with you in prayer for these very things.
We love how you have anchored your cry in the Word, for faith comes by hearing the Word of God and God honors His Word above all. You have prayed according to His will and that gives us confidence, for this is the boldness which we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him. 1 John 5:14-15
We stand with you on the promise of Jesus Himself, My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. John 10:27 and that they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers. John 10:5. We thank God that as His children we are not left to wander or to guess, for as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God. Romans 8:14. His leading is not a distant hope but the birthright of every child who belongs to Christ.
We also agree with you for fullness of wisdom, for we also, since the day we heard this, do not cease praying and making requests for you, that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, that you may walk worthily of the Lord, to please him in all respects. Col 1:9-10. And we take comfort that our Father gives this wisdom generously, for if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5. For Yahweh gives wisdom. Out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding. He lays up sound wisdom for the upright. He is a shield to those who walk in integrity. Prov 2:6-7
We are encouraged that you seek Him with confidence and thanksgiving, for without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to him, for he who comes to God must believe that he exists, and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him. Heb 11:6. And as we bring our requests with thanksgiving, we claim His promise that in nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Phil 4:6-7. That guarding peace is the confirmation that we have heard Him rightly and are being led forth, for you shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace. Isa 55:12
We lift our hearts together now and pray for you. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, through whom alone we have access to Your throne, we thank You that You are the Good Shepherd who speaks and Your sheep hear You. We ask You to quiet every other voice, every distraction and fear, and to make Your voice clear through Your written Word and by Your Holy Spirit. Fill us afresh with the knowledge of Your will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding so that we may walk worthy of You and please You in all things. Grant us generous wisdom for every decision before us, practical understanding for daily steps, and the faith to diligently seek You and trust that You reward those who seek You. Let Your peace which surpasses all understanding guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, and lead us forth with joy and peace into the path You have prepared. We thank You that You hear us when we pray according to Your will, and we receive by faith the leading, wisdom and peace we have asked for. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.
We encourage you to continue to test all leading by the Word of God, for the Holy Spirit will never lead contrary to Scripture, and to stay rooted in daily reading of the Word, prayer, and fellowship with other believers, for it is there His voice becomes most familiar and His peace most steady.
