Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Your prayer to hear the Shepherd's voice is good and right, and we join you in it. The Lord Himself said His sheep hear His voice and follow Him, and that faith comes by hearing the word of God. To desire to be led by the Holy Spirit, to be filled with the knowledge of His will, and to ask for wisdom is to ask according to His promise.
We pray with you that God will fill you with all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you may walk in a way that is worthy of Him and pleasing to Him in every good work, as the Apostle prayed for the Colossians. The wisdom we need is not the wisdom of this world, which ends in this life and cannot profit the soul, but the wisdom of God which is hidden and yet revealed to those who seek Him. God gives this wisdom generously to those who ask in faith, and He rewards those who diligently seek Him.
We also pray that the peace of God will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. This peace is not the fleeting peace that comes from circumstances or from human striving, but the steadfast peace that God Himself made with us. When two thoughts wrestle within, one calling for haste or fear and the other for trust, let the peace of God act as umpire in your heart and give the victory to what is faithful and patient. As you bring every request to God with thanksgiving, He is faithful to keep you and to lead you forth with joy and with peace.
Continue to stand and listen for the voice of the Bridegroom with confidence, knowing that He hears those who ask according to His will. May the Lord grant you clear direction, increase you in the knowledge of God, and establish you in the joy of knowing that your prayer is heard in Jesus Name, amen.
