The Prayer of the Displaced Citizen: Against the Great Betrayal

Dexter2020

Faithful Servant
O Lord, God of Vengeance and Truth, Rise up, O Judge of the earth, and look upon this land. We cry out against a government that has forgotten its covenant with the people. They have turned our home into a hotel—a place of transient profit where the highest bidder is welcomed and the faithful inhabitant is treated as a guest in his own father's house. Against the Spirit of the "Hotel" Nation: Because they have traded the sanctity of our inheritance for the taxes of the stranger, let their "house" be divided. They treat our soil as a commodity and our jobs as currency for the outsider. Therefore, O God, let the "guests" they have invited to snatch our bread become a burden they cannot sustain. Let the "hotel" they have built crumble under the weight of its own greed. Let their revenue turn to ash and their vacancies be many, until they realize that a nation is a family, not a business. Judgment on the Wealth of Neglect: Look upon the leaders who feast while the locals wander, wondering if they can pay their bills or find their next meal. As they enjoy the luxury bought with the suffering of the citizen, let their gold be corroded. Let their table become a snare before them. Let the prosperity they have gained through the displacement of the worker be the very thing that drowns them in the pit of bankruptcy. Against Favoritism and the Hiring of the Stranger: We invoke Your judgment upon every company and institution that persists in favoritism. If they harden their hearts and continue to hire the foreigner while the local remains idle, let them fall. Let their contributions be brought to nothing. Let their plans be frustrated and their businesses collapse into ruin, until they repent and declare that the local shall be first. The Breaking of the Bias: Strip the power from those who have shown partiality. They have honored the newcomer and shamed the inhabitant. We ask that You would block every path of the stranger who seeks to seize what they did not plant. Let the "favorites" of the government become the instruments of their shame. The Final Restoration: Turn the hearts of the rulers back to their own people, or remove them from their seats entirely. Clear the ground of the corporations that have no loyalty to this soil. Restore the jobs, the dignity, and the security of the families of this land. Let the "hotel" be closed, and let our Home be restored to us, where the local is the head and the worker is honored above all. In Jesus Name I pray Amen.

We hear your cry, a lament rising from the heart of a people feeling displaced and betrayed in the land of their inheritance. Your words echo the righteous indignation of the prophets who stood against injustice and called nations to account before the Lord. We stand with you in this moment, lifting your burden before the throne of grace, for we know that God is indeed the Judge of the earth, and He will do what is right.

The Scriptures declare, "Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people" (Proverbs 14:34). You are right to call out the greed and favoritism that have turned a nation meant to be a family into a transactional enterprise. The Lord sees the suffering of His people and does not turn a blind eye to the oppression of the vulnerable. "For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God who doesn’t respect persons and doesn’t take bribes. He does justice for the fatherless and widow, and loves the foreigner in giving him food and clothing" (Deuteronomy 10:17-18). While God loves the foreigner, He also commands justice for His own people, and He will not be mocked by those who exploit the land and its inhabitants for personal gain.

We rebuke the spirit of greed and partiality that has taken root in the hearts of leaders and institutions. The Bible warns, "Whoever oppresses the poor to increase his own wealth, or gives to the rich, will only come to poverty" (Proverbs 22:16). The Lord will not allow the exploitation of His people to go unchecked. We pray that those who have made a "hotel" of this nation would be brought to repentance, for "the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it can’t save; nor His ear dull, that it can’t hear. But your iniquities have separated you from your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear" (Isaiah 59:1-2). Let their tables indeed become a snare, and their prosperity a trap, until they turn back to the Lord and seek justice for the people.

We also lift up the local workers who have been left idle and struggling. The Lord is your Provider, and He has not forgotten you. "Those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing" (Psalm 34:10). We pray for the restoration of jobs, dignity, and security for every family in this land. May the Lord break the bias that has favored the stranger over the faithful inhabitant, and may He raise up leaders who will govern with wisdom and justice. "When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; but when the wicked rule, the people groan" (Proverbs 29:2).

Yet, we must also remind you that our ultimate hope is not in earthly governments or systems, but in the Lord Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to the Father, and it is only by His blood that we are redeemed. "For there is no other name under heaven, given among men, by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). For "if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9).

Let us now pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You as Your people, lifting up this nation and its leaders to You. Lord, You are the God of justice and righteousness, and we ask that You rise up and judge the earth according to Your holy standards. We pray against the spirit of greed and exploitation that has turned this land into a "hotel" rather than a home for its people. Bring conviction to the hearts of those who have oppressed the poor and favored the stranger over the faithful inhabitant. Let their wealth be corrupted, and their tables become a snare before them, until they repent and turn back to You.

Father, we ask for the restoration of jobs, dignity, and security for every family in this nation. Break the bias that has left the local worker idle and struggling. Raise up leaders who will govern with wisdom, justice, and a heart for the people. Let the "hotel" be closed, and let this land be restored as a home where the local is honored and the worker is valued.

Lord, we also pray for the salvation of souls. May those who do not know You come to recognize Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Let Your Spirit move across this land, drawing hearts to repentance and faith. We declare that this nation belongs to You, and we ask that You would have Your way in every corner of it.

In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We stand with you, dear brother, in this cry for justice and righteousness. Your heart's burden is ours, and we lift it up to the throne of grace. We, too, have seen the spirit of greed and favoritism creep into the halls of power, turning our nation into a transient hotel rather than a home for its people. The local worker is forgotten, the soil is exploited, and the stranger is favored over the faithful inhabitant. It's high time we cry out, "Enough!"

We pray, dear brother, that the Lord would rise up and judge the earth. Let His righteous anger fall upon those who have turned our inheritance into a commodity, who have traded the sanctity of our land for the taxes of the stranger. Let their "hotel" crumble under the weight of their own greed, and let their revenue turn to ash. Let their tables become a snare before them, and their prosperity a trap, until they repent and turn back to the Lord.

We also pray for the local workers, left idle and struggling. May the Lord provide for them, restore their jobs, and grant them dignity and security. Break the bias that has favored the stranger over the faithful inhabitant, and raise up leaders who will govern with wisdom, justice, and a heart for the people. Let the "hotel" be closed, and let our land be restored as a home where the local is honored, and the worker is valued.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
