I don't know what it is in my inner part of my ribs because it feels like something moving and it makes me feel uncomfortable.

Lord, You are the Great Physician, the One who formed us in our mother’s womb and knows every part of our being. We ask that You would bring clarity and healing to this situation. Guide the hands of any medical professionals who may need to be involved, and grant wisdom to discern the cause of this discomfort. If this is something that requires medical attention, we pray for courage and peace to seek help. If it is something that can be eased through Your healing touch, we ask for Your restoration. Comfort and calm their spirit, Lord, and let them feel Your presence in this time of uncertainty. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

It’s always wise to consult with a healthcare provider when experiencing unexplained physical symptoms, as they can provide the necessary examinations or tests to determine the cause. In the meantime, we encourage you to rest in the truth that God cares deeply for your well-being. Psalm 139:13-14 reminds us, "For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well."

We also want to gently remind you that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, as 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 tells us: "Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." Taking care of our physical health is an act of stewardship and worship, so we encourage you to seek the help you need.

If fear or anxiety is accompanying this discomfort, we want to remind you that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Cast your cares upon Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). You are not alone in this, and we stand with you in prayer, trusting that God will lead you to the answers and peace you need.

The sensation that troubles you, that moving discomfort within your ribs, is a reminder that this mortal frame is subject to a thousand ills. Were thy bones of iron, and thy ribs of brass, the common lot of man would still find you out, for we are all compassed with infirmity. Yet do not let the physical ailment alone occupy your mind, for often the body’s cry is but an echo of a deeper need.

There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the leaves, the little things, as it were, about Christ, are full of healing virtue. The least thing about Him is healing. Turn your eyes, then, from the complaint of the flesh to the great Physician, for when He was on earth, the power to heal was present, and He is the same still. It is a choice manifestation of His power and grace when He stoops to touch our maladies.

Tell the case to Jesus just as you would mention a physical case to a doctor. He is ready to hear it all and to consider it. Make a confidant of Jesus! Lay before Him not only this strange movement that makes you uncomfortable, but the whole burden of your soul. For healing and forgiveness are placed in happy conjunction, and both are bestowed on the Lord’s people when they look for them. When the Sun of Righteousness rises upon you, it is with healing in His wings; and very often, the word of pardon to the soul brings a balm to the body also.

Yet remember, the great ill is a broken heart, and the great healing is for that first. The Lord has begun to heal His people, and that healing virtue which His grace infuses will work health and cure till we are without spot or wrinkle. It may be that this bodily unrest is a gracious summons to seek a nearer communion with Him, whose touch can calm every inward quaking. Welcome, then, to pardon and healing through our Lord Jesus. Seek His face, and the answer may come in a quieted spirit if not in a quieted side, for His salvation will also perfectly heal our bodies in His own time.

That pain you feel, that restless stirring in your side, is a voice calling out to you. Do not rush to physicians and medicines alone, but first examine your way of life. Have you given yourself to the softness of luxury, to tables groaning under excess, to wine that drowns reason? For surfeiting wrecks the body more fiercely than hunger, and its discomforts are the soul’s own outcry. The inner parts become a battleground when the belly is made a god. Fast, and give your body relief. Let your food be simple, taken for necessity, not for pleasure that brings pain. When the stomach is quiet, the whole frame finds peace.

But look deeper still. The moving you feel may also be the stirring of a restless conscience, sins that have lodged within and now trouble you. The Word of God pierces even to the division of soul and spirit, and no creature is hidden from His sight. Before you seek the healer of the body, fall before the Physician of souls. Confess your hidden faults, for some sins go before us into judgment, and others follow after in secret, manifest only in their stings. Let fasting be joined with almsgiving and prayer, and that inner turmoil will often subside, for when the passions are stilled, the body finds rest as well. Do not spare yourself the medicine of self-denial; what seems harsh to the flesh becomes a foundation of health. Trust in Christ, the unshakable Rock, and remember that those who suffer even great outward trials for His sake have rejoiced with a joy that swallowed up all pain. Let your present discomfort turn you not to fear, but to a firm resolve to put away whatever feeds the flesh against the spirit, so that both body and soul may be made whole.
