The former landlord's Christian sister

Please pray for the former landlord's sister, who has faith in Jesus. Pray that God continues to speak through her, and that her positive influence will change the former landlord. Pray that she is not kept in the dark about the life-threatening apartment that her brother rented to me, and about the evil, immoral woman who had a sexual relationship with the former landlord and most likely hired people to try to kill me.

Please also pray that they both put God first and that our Mighty and Powerful God exposes and destroys every idol

We join you in bringing this serious situation before the Lord together in Jesus' name and we thank God that the former landlord's sister has faith in Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved, as it is written John 14:6 and Acts 4:12.

We pray that God will continue to strengthen her and speak through her as a faithful witness, for we know that those who love the Lord are called to be light in darkness. Jesus said in Matthew 5:16 let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven. We ask that her godly influence would be like iron sharpening iron as Proverbs 27:17 teaches, and that the Lord would give her boldness, wisdom and discernment to speak truth in love to her brother.

We must also address what you have shared about the immoral sexual relationship. Scripture is clear that God designed sexual intimacy to be within the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman, and that any sexual relationship outside of marriage is sin before God. Hebrews 13:4 says let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers, and 1 Corinthians 6:18 calls us to flee sexual immorality. This kind of fornication or adultery not only harms those involved but opens the door to further evil and idolatry, and we pray that the former landlord and this woman would be convicted of this sin, repent, and turn to the Lord for forgiveness and cleansing. We pray for godly sorrow that leads to repentance and for a pursuit of holiness rather than continued immorality.

We also lift up your concern about the life threatening apartment and the grave allegation that people were hired to try to harm you. God sees all that is done in secret and He is a God of justice and truth. Luke 8:17 says for nothing is hidden that will not be revealed, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light, and Ephesians 5:11 tells us to have no fellowship with the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather even reprove them. We pray that the sister will not be kept in the dark, that all deception and cover up would be exposed, and that every idol that has been put before God would be destroyed. Exodus 20:3 reminds us you shall have no other gods before me, and 1 John 5:21 warns little children, keep yourselves from idols. Whether the idols are money, greed, lust, power, or reputation, we ask our Mighty and Powerful God to expose them and tear them down so that both the brother and sister would put God first, for Matthew 6:33 promises seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

We pray for your protection and for justice according to God's will. The Lord is our refuge and fortress as Psalm 91:2 declares, and we ask Him to surround you with His protection and to guide the proper authorities to uncover the truth. Romans 12:19 reminds us that vengeance belongs to the Lord, and we trust Him to act righteously while we also encourage you to seek help from lawful authorities if your life has been threatened, for God has ordained them for justice as Romans 13:4 teaches.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and lift up this sister in Christ, asking You to fill her with Your Holy Spirit, give her courage and words that glorify You, and use her positive influence to draw her brother toward repentance and truth. Lord, expose what has been hidden about this dangerous apartment and about the evil deeds done in darkness, destroy every idol that competes for their hearts, and cause both of them to put You first in all things. Bring conviction for sexual immorality, bring healing and justice where harm was intended, and guard our dear one who has been threatened from all evil. We ask that Your will be done, that truth would prevail, and that all involved would come to know the mercy and holiness of Jesus. We pray this in the mighty and powerful name of Jesus, Amen.

We hear how heavy the fear has been around that apartment and the relationships involved. We will pray with you for your safety and peace, and for God to give you clear wisdom for next steps. You do not have to carry these worries alone.

We also join you in praying for the sister, that the Lord would keep strengthening her faith and using her life to point others toward Him, and for both her and her brother to keep putting God first and seeking what honors Him.

Father, we lift this dear one to You and ask for Your protection, peace, and guidance. Provide safe housing and wise, trustworthy people to support and advise. Work in the hearts of this family as only You can, bring what needs to be revealed into Your light in Your way, and help each one to turn to You more fully. We have heard your burden and we join you in bringing it before the throne of grace, where our Mighty and Powerful God reigns and hears the cries of His people.

We will pray for the sister of your former landlord, who you tell us has faith in Jesus Christ, that the Lord will continue to speak through her and keep her as a faithful witness. May she be kept from being kept in the dark, but may she walk in light and truth, testing everything by the Word and by the Spirit of God. As we have often said, the Lord's teaching is in this Book and may be opened by His Spirit, and we pray she may have boldness to speak that truth in love, that her influence may be used for good and not for flattery, and that she may be an instrument to point her brother to Christ, through whom alone is salvation.

We will pray also for your former landlord, that God would be merciful to him and bring him to put God first in all things. We pray as Scripture teaches, Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, that he may give to true religion a sovereignty over his life, and that consecration to God may shine forth over all his ways. This is the one easily besetting sin of our nature, to turn aside from the living God and to make unto ourselves idols, and we pray with you that every idol would be exposed and abolished. May God grant that he may truly say, What have I to do any more with idols, and may his whole nature become the temple of the living God. Where there has been sin outside of God's holy design for marriage, which is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and where sex and living together belong only within it, we do not ask God to bless what He calls sin, but we pray for repentance and cleansing. The blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin, and we pray that both he and the woman you have mentioned may be brought to see sin as exceeding great and evil, and to flee to Christ for forgiveness and newness of life.

Concerning the apartment you describe as life threatening and the grave wrongs and dangers you have suffered, including your fear for your life, we will pray for your protection and for truth to be brought into the light. We pray that what has been hidden in darkness may be made known, that justice may be done, and that no false peace may cover over wrong. Satan would keep conscience still that his power may be confirmed, but we pray that God, who lifts up the poor from the dunghill while He casteth down the mighty from the seats of their pomp, will be your defender. He is the God of the whole earth and He will do right. We ask that He will preserve you from all peril, that He will give wisdom to those in authority to act justly, and that He will destroy every idol of greed, lust, power or self that would lead men to oppress others.

May the Lord grant you to rest not in excitement or in man, but in the bare promise of God, and to risk everything for Him. May He keep you near to your Master, daily washed in the blood of Christ, and may He cause you to go from strength to strength till you see His deliverance.

We commend you and these persons to Him who hears prayer, praying that His Kingdom may come and His will be done, and that all involved may be brought to repentance and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, in whom alone is life.

We have heard your request and we join with you in prayer to our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom alone salvation comes.

We thank God for the former landlord's sister and for her faith in Jesus. We pray that the Lord will strengthen her, keep her walking closely with Him, and continue to speak through her with clarity and courage. We ask that her life and words would be a faithful witness, and that God would use her influence to call her brother toward truth, repentance, and obedience.

We pray that what has been hidden would be brought into the light. If the apartment that was rented to you was dangerous and life threatening, we ask God to expose that and to bring accountability and justice. We also pray for your protection and safety from any harm or evil intent against you. God sees all things, and we ask Him to restrain evil, to reveal the truth about the conduct you have described, and to establish justice with mercy.

Concerning the sexual relationship you mentioned, we do not ask God to bless what is outside His design. Scripture teaches that marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and that sexual intimacy belongs within that covenant. We pray instead that God would bring conviction where there is sin, grant repentance, and lead both the former landlord and the woman involved to put God first, to turn from immorality, and to seek holiness. We pray that any entanglement that draws hearts away from Christ would be forsaken.

We join you in praying that every idol would be exposed and destroyed. As Scripture warns us to flee from idolatry, we ask God to show where anything has taken His rightful place, and to give hearts that desire Him above all. May He grant a true turning to Him, a love for His Word, and a will to obey Him.

We pray for you as well, that God would guard you, give you peace, provide safe housing, and help you to despise fear of death through hope in the immortality of the soul and the life Christ has promised. May the Lord comfort you, sustain you through this trial, and lead you in wisdom for the steps ahead.

We ask all of this in the name of Jesus Christ, trusting that God hears, that He chastens and corrects in love, and that He will one day judge with perfect righteousness. May His will be done and His name be glorified. Amen.
