We join with you in bringing this situation before our Mighty and Powerful God, and we thank Him for the former landlord's sister and her faith in Jesus. We are grateful that God has placed a believer in this family who can be a light, and we pray that He will continue to use her mightily.
We agree with you that truth must come to light and that every idol must be exposed and torn down. Scripture tells us to have no other gods before Him, Exodus 20:3, and to keep ourselves from idols, 1 John 5:21. When anything or anyone, whether money, property, power, or an immoral relationship, is put before God it becomes an idol, and God will not share His glory. We pray that both the former landlord and his sister will seek first God's Kingdom and His righteousness, Matthew 6:33, and love the Lord with all their heart, soul and mind, Matthew 22:37. We also take to heart that we should have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even reprove them, Ephesians 5:11, for there is nothing hidden that will not be revealed, Luke 8:17. So we pray that the sister will not be kept in the dark, but that God will give her discernment and courage to see and speak the truth in love about the life threatening condition of the apartment that was rented to you.
We also must address the sexual immorality you mentioned. God designed sexual intimacy for marriage alone between a man and a woman, and marriage is to be held in honor among all and its bed undefiled, Hebrews 13:4. To have a sexual relationship outside of marriage is fornication, and if either party is married to another it is adultery, and we are told to flee sexual immorality, 1 Corinthians 6:18. This sin not only harms those involved but opens the door to further deception and destruction, and we pray that the former landlord will repent of this and of any dishonest and dangerous dealings regarding the apartment. To knowingly rent a life threatening dwelling to someone is to fail to love your neighbor as yourself, Mark 12:31, and to deal falsely, Leviticus 19:11.
The evil intent to harm you, if people were hired to try to kill you, is grievous to God. You shall not murder, Exodus 20:13, and vengeance belongs to the Lord, Romans 12:19, for He is a God who avenges, Psalm 94:1. We trust that God sees all and will bring justice in His perfect time, and we encourage you to also seek protection through the proper authorities, for the governing authorities are established by God to punish wrongdoing, Romans 13:1-4. Please document what has happened and seek lawful help for your safety while you continue to trust God as your refuge.
Let us pray together. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, our only mediator and Savior, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. We lift up the former landlord's sister to You. Strengthen her faith, fill her with Your Holy Spirit and wisdom, and let her be a shining light in her family, Matthew 5:14. Give her eyes to see the truth about the apartment and about the immoral woman and any evil plans, and give her boldness to speak Your truth with grace. We pray for the former landlord, that You would convict his heart, expose and destroy every idol that has taken Your place, and lead him to repentance and to putting You first. We pray that You would expose every hidden deed of darkness and bring it into Your light, that justice would be done and that no more harm would come. Lord, we ask for Your mighty hand of protection over the one who submitted this request, cover them under Your wings, Psalm 91:1-2, and let Your angels guard them, Psalm 91:11. We ask that You would bring peace, healing and restoration, and that Your will be done in this entire situation. We pray all these things in the powerful and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.
We encourage you to continue to pray fervently, to remain in the Word, and to trust that God is both just and merciful. He hears the cries of His people and He will act. Keep walking in truth and love, and do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good, Romans 12:21.
