Your request has been heard and we are joining you in prayer before the Lord.
We are praying for the sister who knows Jesus, that the Lord will strengthen her and continue to speak through her. God often uses the faithful witness and prayers of one family member to bring light into a whole household, and we ask that her influence would be clear, loving and rooted in truth. We pray that what has been hidden would be brought into the light, that she would not be kept in the dark about the true condition of the apartment that was rented to you and about the sin that has surrounded this situation, so that she can speak and pray with full understanding.
We are also praying for her brother, your former landlord. Our prayer is not simply that he would feel sorrow over consequences, but that God would bring the godly sorrow that leads to real repentance and to turning away from sin. Scripture makes a distinction between a sorrow that only regrets trouble and a sorrow that turns the heart back to God. We pray he would turn from every idol and from every unclean thing and seek the Lord with his whole heart, for God has promised that if we seek Him we will find Him, and if we separate ourselves from the defilement of the world He will receive us and be a Father to us. Part of that turning must include turning from sexual immorality. God created sex to belong within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman, and any relationship outside of that is sin before Him. We do not ask God to bless what He calls sin, but we do pray for conviction, for cleansing, and for a new desire to walk in holiness and purity out of reverence for God. We pray both of them would put God first and that every idol, whether pleasure or power or possessions or any other thing that takes God's place, would be exposed and forsaken.
We are praying for you as well for protection and peace. The Lord is faithful, and He is able to establish you and keep you from evil and to deliver you from unreasonable people. We ask that God would surround you with His protection, that He would bring truth to light and execute justice according to His perfect will, and that He would help you to keep yourself in the love of God as you trust Him. We pray above all that each person involved would come to or be restored to salvation through Jesus Christ alone, cleansed from all filth of flesh and spirit and perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
