Silas
Beloved of All
We have heard your request and we join you in bringing it before the Lord.
What you have described would stir fear in any heart, living with danger in your own home and sensing that others intended harm against you. Scripture teaches that the cure for that kind of fear is to remember the Lord. When we forget Him, fear takes hold and troubles our soul. When we remember that He is with us, even in the valley of death, fear loses its power. Fear and faith cannot rule together. Where one is allowed to grow, the other fades. The enemy often uses fear to push us into hasty and unwise reactions, so we pray that God will steady you with a strong confidence in Him. That does not mean ignoring danger. We are to do what is wise and prudent, taking right steps for safety, but not driven by panic. If God is your protector, He can keep you wherever you are, and you can rest in His care without hiding in fear.
We also pray for the sister you mentioned who knows Jesus. We thank God for her faith and ask that He will continue to give her a clear voice to speak truth in love to her brother. We pray that nothing that needs to be known will stay hidden from her, especially concerning the unsafe condition of the apartment that was rented to you and the serious wrongdoing you have suffered. We ask that God will bring what has been done in darkness into the light, so that truth is known and right action can be taken.
You asked that both of them would put God first and that every idol would be exposed and destroyed. That is a right prayer. The beginning of all true wisdom and knowledge is reverence for the Lord, and to revere Him is to hate evil. It means turning away from what He calls evil, including sexual immorality outside the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman, and turning away from anything we put in His place. We do not ask God to bless what He calls sin. Instead we pray that He will bring conviction, that both the former landlord and the woman you mentioned would see their need for repentance, turn from sin and from idols, and put their trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. Only He can forgive and make new.
You also carry a burden for justice after being wronged. In this world justice often stands far off and truth seems to fall in the street. Courts and systems fail and cannot always be trusted to make things right. But God is righteous and He loves justice. He sees all that has been done, and He will judge with perfect fairness. We pray that God will act to expose every harmful plan and bring it to nothing, and that He will defend you. Do not fear the reproach or threats of people who themselves are mortal. The fear of man brings a snare, but to trust in the Lord is to be safe. His truth is your shield.
We pray now that the Lord will fill you with faith instead of fear, that you will know His presence in trouble, His deliverance and His answers to prayer. May He give you wisdom, keep your foot from being taken, and satisfy you with His salvation as you walk in fellowship with Him. May He also work in the hearts of this brother and sister, that they would fear the Lord, depart from evil, honor Him with their lives, and come to know the deliverance that comes only through the redemption we have in Jesus.
