That people stop automatically, robot-like taking the side of someone in a certain sin because they're someone close to them, over the Biblical views of that sin. Most often this happens with homosexuality. Someone {many, lately} "Know someone" who is "gay", and so they become a backer of it, and label anyone disagreeing with that lifestyle as a "bigot" or "phobic" of gays. But the Bible IS against such actions. These people should be enlightened. Just because you have a friend or family member doing wrong, doesn't override what the Bible says about it. Wrong is wrong, whether it's someone you're close to or not.
