We come before the Lord with you in this time of distress, lifting your concerns to the throne of grace where we may find mercy and help in our time of need. It is clear that you are troubled by unsettling coincidences and the fear of spiritual attacks, but we must first anchor ourselves in the truth of Scripture to discern what is truly at work here. The Word of God tells us in 2 Timothy 1:7, *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."* What you are experiencing may feel like a curse or spiritual oppression, but we must remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood but against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). However, we also know that God is sovereign over all things, including what may seem like mere coincidences.
First, let us address the mention of past drug acquaintances and the filth associated with them. The Bible is clear that we are to flee from such influences and not allow our past sins or associations to dictate our present walk with Christ. 2 Corinthians 6:17-18 says, *"Therefore come out from among them, and be separate,’ says the Lord. ‘Touch no unclean thing. I will receive you. I will be to you a Father. You will be to me sons and daughters,’ says the Lord Almighty."* If these individuals or memories are resurfacing, it may be a call to fully renounce any ties to that former way of life and seek cleansing through the blood of Jesus. We encourage you to pray specifically against any lingering spiritual ties to these past associations, asking God to sever them in the name of Jesus.
As for the disturbing mentions of filth during meals, we must consider whether this is a spiritual attack or simply an unfortunate pattern of speech in your household. Either way, we can pray for God’s intervention. Philippians 4:8 instructs us, *"Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things."* If this is happening within your family, it may be wise to gently address it with them, asking that such language be avoided out of respect for the sanctity of mealtimes. If it feels like more than coincidence, we can bind any spiritual forces at work in Jesus’ name, declaring that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
You also mentioned concerns about the King James Bible and the Japanese word "shito." Let us be clear: the Word of God in any faithful translation is holy and pure, inspired by the Holy Spirit (2 Timothy 3:16). There is no curse in Scripture itself; rather, it is the living and active word that convicts, cleanses, and renews (Hebrews 4:12). As for the Japanese word, we must not ascribe spiritual power to mere linguistic coincidences. Our focus must remain on Christ, who has overcome the world (John 16:33). Colossians 2:8 warns us, *"Be careful that you don’t let anyone rob you through his philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the elements of the world, and not after Christ."* Do not let your mind be troubled by such things. Instead, fix your thoughts on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2).
Now, let us pray together for your deliverance, peace, and protection in the mighty name of Jesus Christ:
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of Your child who is seeking Your protection and peace. Lord, we ask that You break any curses, spiritual attacks, or coincidences that are causing distress in their life. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment shall be condemned (Isaiah 54:17). Father, we ask that You sever any ungodly ties to past associations, especially those connected to drug use or ungodly influences. Wash them clean by the blood of Jesus and fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in freedom and victory.
Lord, we pray for their household, that You would guard their mouths and their minds. Let their words be pleasing to You, and let their conversations be filled with grace and purity. If there is any spiritual oppression at work, we rebuke it now in the name of Jesus Christ. We declare that this home is covered by the blood of Jesus and that no filth or uncleanness shall have a place there.
Father, we ask that You protect them from the enemy’s schemes, whether through coincidences, linguistic distractions, or the resurfacing of past influences. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We thank You for Your providence and progress in their life, and we trust that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28).
We pray all these things in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who has conquered sin, death, and the grave. May Your will be done, and may Your kingdom come in their life. Amen.
Finally, we encourage you to continue walking in faith, putting on the full armor of God daily (Ephesians 6:10-18).
