Jesus Christ, please save me from breaking my fast. My goal is to get to 10 days of Daniel fasting. Jesus, please save me from hunger and temptation to eat on this 4th day of fasting. Jesus Christ, can you prescribe me Adderall Instant Release tomorrow? The current medication has been helpful for sleeping and waking, and sunlight. I hope Jesus helps me acquire the medication. Jesus Christ, please help me do healthy habits while fasting and being affected by medication. Thanks, Jesus, for peace, providence, and progress in Jesus' name, Amen.

We join you in lifting up your heart’s cry to Jesus Christ, who alone is your strength, provider, and sustainer in every need. It is beautiful to see you seeking Him with such dependence, and we are encouraged by your commitment to this Daniel fast—a time of humbling yourself before the Lord to seek His face more earnestly. The fast you have undertaken is not merely about abstaining from food but about drawing nearer to God, aligning your heart with His will, and experiencing His transformative power. As you press toward your goal of 10 days, we remind you of the words of Jesus in Matthew 4:4: *"Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of God’s mouth."* Your hunger is an opportunity to feast on His Word, to meditate on His promises, and to find satisfaction in His presence alone.

That said, we must gently but firmly address the request regarding Adderall. While we understand the desire for clarity, focus, and stability—especially during a time of fasting—we must remind you that our trust is to be placed wholly in the Lord, not in medication or substances to sustain us. The apostle Paul tells us in 2 Corinthians 12:9, *"He has said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me."* If medication has been prescribed to you by a doctor for a legitimate medical need, we pray for wisdom and discernment in its use. However, seeking Jesus to "prescribe" or provide a controlled substance like Adderall is not aligned with trusting Him as our healer and sustainer. Proverbs 3:5-6 instructs us, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."*

If you are struggling with focus, energy, or mental clarity during this fast, we encourage you to seek natural, God-honoring ways to steward your body—such as proper rest, hydration (as the Daniel fast permits), gentle movement, and most importantly, immersing yourself in prayer and Scripture. The fast is not just about denying the body but about renewing the mind (Romans 12:2). If you are experiencing significant difficulty, it may also be wise to consult a trusted medical professional who can provide guidance in a way that honors both your physical needs and your spiritual commitment.

We also want to commend you for recognizing the importance of healthy habits during this time. Fasting is not an excuse to neglect the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). As you seek the Lord, ask Him to reveal any areas where you may need to adjust your habits—whether in sleep, exercise, or even the way you structure your days—to honor Him fully.

Now, let us pray together for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister to You, knowing that You are the God who sees, hears, and sustains. Lord Jesus, You fasted for 40 days in the wilderness and overcame every temptation by the power of the Word. We ask that You strengthen this beloved one on their 4th day of fasting, that You would fill them with Your Spirit and satisfy their hunger with Your presence. When weakness comes, remind them that Your grace is sufficient. When temptation calls, let them recall that You are their portion and their reward.

Father, we pray for clarity of mind and body during this fast. If there is any reliance on substances or medications that is not of You, we ask that You would convict and redirect their heart to trust in You alone. Show them how to steward their body well, to rest in Your peace, and to walk in Your wisdom. If there is a legitimate need for medical support, provide the right resources and guidance through godly counsel.

Lord, we thank You for the progress they have already made. Guard their heart from pride or discourgement, and let this fast be a time of deep communion with You. May they emerge from these 10 days with a renewed mind, a stronger faith, and a testimony of Your faithfulness. We rebuked any scheme of the enemy to derail this fast through hunger, distraction, or ungodly dependencies. By the blood of Jesus, we declare that this time is set apart for Your glory.

Finally, Father, we thank You for the peace, providence, and progress they have already experienced. May they continue to walk in the assurance that You are their helper, their healer, and their hope. We ask all this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Stand firm in your commitment, but always with an ear tuned to the Holy Spirit’s leading. If at any point the fast becomes harmful rather than holy, seek the Lord’s wisdom—He may be calling you to adjust your approach rather than abandon your pursuit of Him. Keep your eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). We are cheering you on in this race!

Hey there,

Just wanted to chime in and say we're right there with you in this Daniel fast. It's tough, but we know Jesus is right there too, cheering you on. We love how you're seeking Him with all your heart, and we're praying that these 10 days would be a time of real encounter with God.

We've been where you are, feeling that hunger and the temptation that comes with it. But remember, Jesus said, "Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God." (Matthew 4:4) So let's feast on His Word, meditate on His promises, and find our satisfaction in Him.

As for the Adderall, we get it. Fasting can be tough, and you want to be at your best. But let's trust God with this. He's the one who sustains us, not medication. We're not saying you should stop taking it if it's prescribed, but let's ask God for wisdom in how we use it. Let's trust Him to give us the energy and focus we need, and let's be open to Him showing us natural, God-honoring ways to care for our bodies too.

We're praying for you, that God would fill you with His Spirit, satisfy your hunger with His presence, and give you the strength to keep going. Let's keep our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith. You've got this, and we're cheering you on!

Stay strong, and keep seeking Him. We're in this together.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
