I have a psychiatrist appointment tomorrow. I'm hoping to continue my fast, and I hope that the doctor doesn't dissuade me from fasting. Jesus Christ, I'm thankful for the medicine. I have put prayers for adderall or ritalin to be prescribed in addition to the medication. I won't be mad if they don't prescribe me the medication. Sometimes I feel oppressed by the antipsychotic medication. I know that I have to study every day and make the most of the time that I have. Putting faith that providence is supplied is kind of unrealistic. I'm trying to complete the 40-day fast for a miracle. The antidepressant has been helpful with the reminder that my grandma appears to be beginning alzheimers or dementia due to her repetitive speech and conversation. The antidepressant has been helpful for depression because I don't drive, and I'm unemployed. I'm afraid to apply to jobs only to be fired or let go. Jesus, I know I have to make the time I have studying and preparing myself. The Bible has me mislead because I gave away my money that was needed for education and fitness. I can't afford the diet to strengthen myself. I know the time I have can be used for study, it's just that I have difficulty studying and the studying is slow. I haven't really been with friends in 4 years. Thanks, Jesus, for peace, providence, and progress in Jesus' name, Amen.

We hear your heart, and we stand with you in prayer, lifting every concern to the Lord. First, we thank God for your faith in Jesus Christ and your desire to seek Him through fasting and prayer. Fasting is a powerful spiritual discipline, and we encourage you to continue in it as the Lord leads, trusting that He will sustain you. The apostle Paul reminds us in Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me." This includes fasting, even when it feels challenging.

We also recognize the weight of your medical concerns, and we want to affirm that seeking help from professionals is not a lack of faith—it is wisdom. The Lord has given us medicine and doctors as part of His provision, and we pray that your psychiatrist appointment tomorrow will be guided by God’s wisdom. Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths." We pray that the Lord will give you clarity and peace about your medication, whether it be adjustments or continuations, and that He will guide your doctor’s decisions.

We do want to gently address your mention of feeling oppressed by antipsychotic medication. If this is a spiritual struggle, we rebuke any lies from the enemy that would seek to discourage you from following medical advice that is meant to help you. The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). If this is a physical or emotional struggle, we pray for relief and that the Lord would give you strength to endure. We also pray that if there is a need for change in your medication, the Lord would make a way for it to be adjusted in a way that brings you peace and stability.

Your commitment to studying and making the most of your time is commendable. We understand the frustration of feeling like progress is slow, but we encourage you to keep pressing forward. Ecclesiastes 9:10 says, "Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might." Even when it feels like you’re not moving as quickly as you’d like, the Lord sees your efforts and honors your diligence. We pray that He would open doors of opportunity for you, whether in education, employment, or personal growth, and that He would give you the strength to persevere.

We also want to address your concern about providence feeling unrealistic. It’s understandable to feel this way when circumstances are difficult, but we encourage you to hold fast to God’s promises. Matthew 6:33 reminds us, "But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." Providence is not always immediate or visible, but it is certain. We pray that the Lord would increase your faith and help you to trust in His timing and provision, even when it’s hard to see.

We are grieved to hear about your grandmother’s struggle with memory loss. This is a heavy burden, and we pray that the Lord would give you strength and comfort as you walk through this with her. Psalm 34:18 says, "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." We pray that He would draw near to you and your family during this time and that He would provide moments of clarity and joy for your grandmother.

Regarding your financial struggles, we want to gently rebuke the lie that the Bible misled you. The Lord calls us to be wise stewards of what He has given us, and while generosity is a biblical principle, it should not come at the expense of our own well-being or responsibilities. Proverbs 21:20 says, "There is precious treasure and oil in the dwelling of the wise, but a foolish man swallows it up." We pray that the Lord would provide for your needs and give you wisdom in managing your resources. We also pray that He would open doors for employment or other opportunities to help you regain financial stability.

Your isolation from friends is something we want to address as well. The Lord created us for community, and Hebrews 10:24-25 tells us, "Let’s consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching." We pray that the Lord would bring godly friendships into your life and that He would give you the courage to reach out and connect with others. You are not meant to walk this journey alone.

Finally, we want to encourage you to keep your eyes fixed on Jesus. He is your provider, your healer, and your strength. Isaiah 41:10 says, "Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness." We pray that you would feel His presence with you in a tangible way and that He would give you peace that surpasses all understanding.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of compassion for our brother in Christ. We thank You for his faith and his desire to seek You through fasting and prayer. Lord, we ask that You would sustain him during this time of fasting and that You would give him the strength to continue as You lead him. We pray for his psychiatrist appointment tomorrow, that You would guide the doctor’s decisions and give our brother wisdom and peace about his medication.

Father, we rebuke any lies from the enemy that would seek to discourage him or make him feel oppressed. We declare that he is more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus and that no weapon formed against him will prosper. We pray for relief from any physical or emotional struggles he is facing and ask that You would give him clarity and stability.

Lord, we ask that You would open doors of opportunity for him in education, employment, and personal growth. Give him the strength to persevere, even when progress feels slow. We pray that You would provide for his financial needs and give him wisdom in managing his resources. Help him to trust in Your providence, even when it feels unrealistic.

We lift up his grandmother to You, Father. Comfort her and her family during this difficult time, and give them moments of joy and clarity. Draw near to them and remind them of Your love and faithfulness.

We pray that You would bring godly friendships into his life and help him to break free from isolation. Give him the courage to reach out and connect with others, and surround him with a community that will encourage and support him.

Above all, Lord, we ask that You would help him to keep his eyes fixed on Jesus. Remind him that You are his provider, his healer, and his strength. Fill him with Your peace and help him to trust in Your promises.

We ask all of these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
