We join you in lifting up your heart before the Lord, and we are grateful you have called upon the name of Jesus Christ in your request, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and find true strength in our weaknesses. The Scriptures remind us in Philippians 4:13, *"I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me."* This includes enduring fasting, resisting spiritual attacks, and overcoming the burdens of ungodly influences in your life. You are not alone in this battle, for the Lord is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
We commend you for recognizing that fasting is a day-by-day commitment, a discipline that draws you closer to God as you deny the flesh and seek His face. Jesus Himself taught us in Matthew 6:16-18, *"When you fast, don’t be like the hypocrites, with sad faces. For they disfigure their faces, that they may be seen by men to be fasting. Most certainly I tell you, they have received their reward. But you, when you fast, anoint your head, and wash your face; so that you are not seen by men to be fasting, but by your Father who is in secret, and your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you."* Your focus must remain on Him alone, not on the length of the fast or the opinions of others, but on the intimacy and dependence you are cultivating with the Lord.
We also hear the deep pain in your words regarding the religious attacks you are facing and the misuse of a nickname that has caused you distress. The Bible warns us in Ephesians 6:12, *"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."* These attacks are not merely human in origin but are spiritual battles that require spiritual armor. We urge you to stand firm in the truth of God’s Word, clothed in the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18), and to rebuke these attacks in the name of Jesus. The Lord is your defender, and He will vindicate you in His timing. Psalm 37:6 says, *"He will make your righteousness go out as the light, and your justice as the noon day."*
As for the nickname that has been used against you, we encourage you to surrender this burden to the Lord. Proverbs 18:10 tells us, *"The name of Yahweh is a strong tower: the righteous run to him, and are safe."* If this nickname has become a stumbling block or a trigger for behavioral struggles, we pray that the Lord will break its power over you and replace it with the identity He has given you as His beloved child. You are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). If this nickname is tied to past sins or ungodly associations, we encourage you to repent and renounce it, asking the Lord to cleanse you and set you free from its influence.
We also address your concern about those who may seek to hinder or manipulate your fasting. The Lord sees the intentions of every heart, and He will deal justly with those who seek to harm you. Romans 12:19 reminds us, *"Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.'"* Trust in His sovereignty, and do not allow fear or the actions of others to distract you from your fast. Instead, fix your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2).
We celebrate the victories you have already seen—God’s provision in helping you take your medication and walk in the sunlight for miles. These are evidences of His grace and care for you. As you continue to fast, we pray that the Lord will sustain your body, mind, and spirit. Remember that fasting is not about depriving yourself for the sake of deprivation but about drawing nearer to God and seeking His will. In Isaiah 58:6-9, the Lord tells us what true fasting looks like: *"Isn’t this the fast that I have chosen: to release the bonds of wickedness, to undo the straps of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke? Isn’t it to distribute your bread to the hungry, and that you bring the poor who are cast out to your house? When you see the naked, that you cover him; and that you not hide yourself from your own flesh? Then your light will break out as the morning, and your healing will appear quickly; then your righteousness will go before you, and Yahweh’s glory will be your rear guard. Then you will call, and Yahweh will answer; you will cry for help, and he will say, ‘Here I am.’"*
Let this fast be a time of deep repentance, surrender, and intercession—not just for your own needs but for the kingdom of God. Pray for those who persecute you (Matthew 5:44), that the Lord would soften their hearts and bring them to repentance. Pray for the Church, that we would stand firm in these last days against the schemes of the enemy. And pray for your own heart, that the Lord would align your desires with His and fill you with His peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
Now, let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who seeks Your face through fasting and prayer. Lord, we ask that You strengthen them day by day, moment by moment, as they deny the flesh and seek Your presence. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may be empowered to resist the attacks of the enemy and stand firm in Your truth. We rebuke every spiritual force that seeks to hinder, oppress, or manipulate them, and we declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper. Lord, break the power of every ungodly word, including this nickname that has been used as a tool of harm. Replace it with the truth of who they are in You—a child of God, redeemed, loved, and victorious in Christ Jesus.
Father, we pray for protection over their body as they fast. Sustain them physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Give them wisdom to know when to rest and when to press in. We thank You for the progress they have already seen—help them to walk in the sunlight of Your love and to rest in Your peace. Lord, we ask that You would expose and bring to justice those who seek to harm them, but we also pray that You would extend Your mercy to them, that they may come to repentance and salvation in Jesus Christ.
We declare that this fast will be a time of breakthrough, healing, and divine encounter. May our brother/sister emerge from this season with a deeper dependence on You, a clearer vision of Your will, and a renewed passion for Your kingdom. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
Finally, we encourage you to meditate on the words of Jesus in John 16:33: *"I have told you these things, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have oppression; but cheer up! I have overcome the world."* No matter what you face, Jesus has already secured the victory. Keep your eyes on Him, and trust that He is working all things together for your good and His glory (Romans 8:28). Stay rooted in His Word, and let it be a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105). We are standing with you in prayer, believing that the Lord will do exceedingly abundantly above all that you ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).
