Jesus Christ, please save me and others from the effects of watching other people's old church recordings. Because of my somewhat religious fear, I am afraid to watch church recordings and to be affected by them. I am content with reading the bible and prayers. Thanks, Jesus, for peace, providence, and progress in Jesus' name, Amen.

We understand your concern and commend you for seeking the Lord’s protection and wisdom in this matter. It is good that you are grounded in reading the Bible and prayer, as these are the primary ways God speaks to us and strengthens our faith. The Word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, and it discerns the thoughts and intentions of the heart (Hebrews 4:12). Prayer is our direct line of communication with the Father, and through it, we find peace, guidance, and deliverance.

However, we must gently address the fear you’ve expressed about watching church recordings. Fear does not come from God, for He has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). If your fear stems from a concern about being misled or influenced by teachings that may not align with Scripture, we encourage you to test everything against the Word of God. The Bereans were commended for examining the Scriptures daily to see if what they were being taught was true (Acts 17:11). This should be our practice as well—whether we are reading, listening, or watching spiritual content.

That said, if your fear is rooted in something deeper—such as a distrust of organized religion, past hurts from church experiences, or even spiritual warfare—we urge you to bring this before the Lord honestly. Ask Him to reveal the source of this fear and to replace it with His perfect love, which casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). It is also important to remember that while church recordings can be a tool for edification, they are not a substitute for the fellowship and accountability found in a local body of believers. Hebrews 10:24-25 reminds us not to neglect meeting together, as some have made a habit, but to encourage one another, especially as the Day of the Lord approaches.

We also notice that you invoked the name of Jesus in your request, and we rejoice in this! There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). Your acknowledgment of His authority is a testament to your faith, and we encourage you to continue to pray in His name, for the Father delights to honor the prayers of His children when they come to Him through Christ.

Let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift up this beloved sibling in Christ to You, asking that You would fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Lord, we rebuke any spirit of fear that has taken hold in their heart and ask that You would replace it with a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind. Help them to discern all things through the lens of Your Word, giving them wisdom to know what is edifying and what is not. If there is any wound or past hurt that has caused this fear, we ask that You would heal and restore them, Lord. Remind them that You are their Shepherd, and they shall not want (Psalm 23:1). Guide them to a community of believers where they can grow in faith, love, and accountability.

We pray that You would protect them from any teaching that does not align with Your truth and that You would give them a hunger and thirst for righteousness (Matthew 5:6). May they find joy and contentment in Your presence, whether through reading Your Word, praying, or fellowshipping with other believers. Thank You, Lord, for Your providence and for the progress You are making in their life. We ask all these things in the precious and mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Finally, we encourage you to meditate on Philippians 4:6-7: “In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.” Keep seeking Him, and He will lead you into all truth (John 16:13). Stay rooted in His Word, and do not let fear dictate your steps. The Lord is with you!

We've been thinking about you and wanted to share a bit more from our hearts. We understand that fear can sometimes feel overwhelming, but remember, Jesus is always with you, even in your fears. He said, "I am with you always, to the very end of the age" (Matthew 28:20). That's a promise we can hold onto, no matter what we're facing.

We encourage you to keep seeking God in His Word and in prayer. As you do, ask Him to help you understand why you're feeling this way about watching church recordings. It could be that there's something He wants to teach you or show you through this. Trust that He has a purpose in it all.

Also, remember that God has given us a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). That means we don't have to live in fear. Instead, we can choose to trust in God's love for us and His goodness. As Psalm 34:4 tells us, "Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him."

Let's keep praying together, shall we?

I prayed that God in Jesus' name will answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God Loves You. Thank You Jesus!!!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for allowing us the honor of lifting your heart before the Father and standing in agreement with you concerning the burdens you’ve shared. Your desire for purity and protection in your walk with Christ is a testament to your sensitivity to the Holy Spirit, and we praise God for the way He is working in your heart.

We have been praying that the Lord would replace any fear with His perfect peace, that He would guard your mind and spirit from anything that does not align with His truth, and that He would deepen your confidence in Him alone. It is beautiful to see how you are finding contentment in Scripture and prayer—what a firm foundation! We pray that God continues to draw you closer to Himself through His Word, filling you with discernment and a deeper revelation of His love.

If the Lord has brought freedom, clarity, or peace in this area since you first posted, we would love for you to share a praise report so we can rejoice with you. If this is still a struggle, please don’t hesitate to share an update so we can continue to intercede for you with understanding and faith. The Lord is faithful, and He is at work—even when we don’t see it yet.

May He bless you abundantly as you seek His face, trusting in the finished work of Jesus Christ, who has already won the victory over every fear and every snare of the enemy. We are standing with you in faith, believing that God is leading you into greater liberty and joy in Him.

We pray this in Jesus’ Name.
